Please note:
Our property is located in a beautiful mountainous area—perfect for relaxing and unplugging. While we do provide Wi-Fi, service can occasionally be spotty or slower due to the remote location. We recommend downloading any essential content ahead of time, just in case. Thanks for understanding, and we hope you enjoy the peaceful surroundings!
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Whether you prefer to enjoy some peace and quiet cozied up in the cabin or if you’d rather admire the grand woods around you on the deck outside, Oakview Point will not disappoint. The cabin is tucked away in the woods -- with nearby access to plenty of amazing hiking trails.
Beyond the cabin itself, you’re just a short 30-minute drive to Shenandoah National Park. There, you can take in the awe-inspiring beauty of the Skyline Drive mountain ridge, spot wildlife, and hike to over half-a-dozen large waterfalls.

Beautiful little place. We had originally booked another place nearby managed by the same host, and when there was an unexpected issue with one of the amenities, they offered to move us here. Hosts were extremely responsive and lovely to work with. The chalet was great.

Thanks again for staying with us. We’d love to welcome you back anytime. :)
Our team had a fantastic stay at the chalet cabin rental. The hot tub, BBQ grille, and fire pit were all great amenities, and the wifi was a nice bonus. The huge primary suite upstairs and reading loft provided enough space for everyone to have their own space. We would highly recommend this chalet for work retreats or any group getaway
The chalet cabin rental was the perfect location for our family's birthday getaway. The hot tub, BBQ grille, and fire pit provided plenty of entertainment, and the wifi was an added convenience. The spacious primary suite upstairs and cozy reading loft gave us all the room we needed to relax. The well-stocked kitchen was great for preparing a special birthday meal. Overall, we had an unforgettable and enjoyable stay at the chalet.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We really liked the layout and the location. There were a few issues however. When we first arrived it was cold because they don't have a thermostat to control the heat. It took a little while before the floor board heaters heated up the house. The issue could have been resolved with the pellet stove however it wasn't available at the time we stayed there. Presumably it does broken. When we first arrived we did not have water until the next morning. Apparently they are on a well and the water reserve was depleted. I figured out that the upstairs toilet is running non-stop and probably is the cause of that issue. After I turn the water off to the toilet the issue was resolved for the rest of our stay. And the other problem we had was that their checkout time is at 10 AM instead of 11 AM. They offer a late checkout for what I find to be a unreasonably high fee. Overall the host was very helpful and quick to respond to messages. But the issues mentioned above unfortunately left us without a excellent experience. We did really enjoy the cabin and would come back and I would recommend it. Hopefully they are fixing the issues before the next people who stay there arrive. And I hope they consider an 11 o'clock check out time rather than the early 10 AM. It is a bit unusually early and it makes me feel like they do it on purpose so they can upsell a late checkout fee.

Cold and allergen-infested
I stayed at the house this past weekend and while the structure was as described and the hot tub was lovely, there was no heat outside of the bedrooms. When I asked the host about this, he suggested I go to Food Lion and buy “pellets” for the heater. Moreover, the second floor was infested with some sort of allergen - mold? Cat hair? Other?? - and none of us could be up there for more than a half hour without sneezing and scratching our eyes like crazy. I would NOT recommend this place. Ridiculous.

Was not thrilled with the inaccuracy of posting
We got there and there was a turkey on the deck waiting for us. This was not a wild turkey. The property was all set up for it in the back of the cabin. The turkey stayed on the deck the entire time and was pooping and watching our every move. It was impossible to enjoy the deck. We had to stay inside. We were not impressed. I contacted the owner and he said he didn’t know who’s turkey it was when it was all set up on the property to house this turkey.
The house needs TLC. There were no curtains so that we could feel a little privacy from the neighbors or even from the turkey watching our every move.
The stove was dirty inside and out. Fortunately we didn’t need to cook. The upstairs tub drain was full of hair and didn’t drain. There was bugs squished on the walls. It wais a lot to pay for this type of cleaning. Especially for one night.
The furniture was very uncomfortable. Made for very short people. My 6’4” husband and elderly parents really couldn’t sit on the couch.
With saying all that, a positive is the beds were comfortable thankfully.
I feel the site did not depict what we were really purchasing. Needless to say we were disappointed.

A swing and a miss
I see what the owners were trying to do with this property but it isn’t quiet there.
When you first walk in you’re met with smoker smells throughout the house, along with wood stove pellet bags laying out on the floor that we about tripped over bringing our luggage in.
Throughout the house there are simple things that are overlooked and concerning. No outlet covers on multiple outlets, light bulb sockets with no bulbs, no drain plug for my child to take a bath, no butter knives only sharp steak knives, holes in drywall, broken doors, large gap at the bottom of the front door, slider door does not lock, dead insects filling glass cover for the ceiling fan, dirty washer machine, no toilet paper roll holder, no curtains for upstairs bedroom with direct line of sight to the road and other houses, hair caked on shower walls, dirty walls, and couldn’t lock the deadbolt when leaving the house.
I wasn’t expecting to need A/C in March weather, but when we got to the property every bedroom had A/C window units in them. These units were installed with wood, screws, and what seemed like plexiglass. It makes it look disheveled. A/C window units are not included in the staging pictures for this property listing.
On the exterior of the property there are piles of nail filled lumber next to the hot tub, a large unburied PVC piping in the front yard, broken window screens, and a broken deck gate.
If they finish fixing it, it would be a wonderful property.

We are really dissatisfied with our stay at this house. While we did receive timely responses, the actual concerns were never addressed like the bathroom mats, trash bags. The dishwasher has been leaking. There were no bathroom mats and trash bags (broken trash can) provided. Despite reporting these issues on the first day, no one came to fix or check on them throughout our stay. We also experienced a hot water problem, which remained unresolved. Additionally, the dryer filter was not cleaned, and there was a significant amount of pet hair left inside. Several utensils were chipped and not in a condition suitable for use. When a home is listed as a vacation rental, we expect basic maintenance and cleanliness to be taken care of before guests arrive. Unfortunately, these conditions caused a lot of inconvenience during our stay. Thankyou!
Tony, our host, could not have been more attentive. He checked with us several times during our 3 night stay. Loved the large deck. The location was fairly close to Martinsburg, as well as Inwood...no problem finding fun local pubs with great food. ust a few things that could be improved upon- although none of us planned to utilize, we found the advertized hot tub to be dry (no water) and could not locate any operating instructions. - the 1 and only tv was located on 2nd floor up a flight of steps...1 of our fellow travelers had recently had a knee replacement and, therefore, we really could not utilize tv.
The property is located in a beautiful wooded neighborhood. The property is dated, and the driveway could use a railing to get from the parking area up to the stairway. We had a family member that had a difficult time making it up. She has bad knees. Also, it needs to be advertised how to use the downstairs heater. We are from Florida and do not use a pellet heater.
A few problems with the place that need to be addressed: the heater in the upstairs bathroom does not work; there is a wet spot in the downstairs hallway ceiling (at the bathroom door); there is a fire extinguisher that has the pin pulled.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this property. The space worked well for 4 adults and two small children, as it has 3 separate bedrooms. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that a new hot tub had been added to the deck. We enjoyed playing games and socializing on the deck during the day and relaxing in the hot tub at night.
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Oakview Point in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
