Casa Avecita at Sparrow Bend is the quaint, rustic tinyish home perfect for a couples getaway of for a small group of close friends.
With the wall to wall windows looking out over the river you will feel like your right in nature, without giving up any of your favorite comforts.

Sparrow Bend River Retreat is a beautiful 8 acre multi-site vacation rental property with camping, RV sites and 2 vacation homes.

With a private 300yard stretch pf the crystal-clear, spring fed MEDINA RIVER only 100 yards from your patio, your party will spend the day exploring its majestic cliffs and coves, paddling/floating the river (tubes provided for rent, no kayaks for rent yet), splashing in the shallows, playing yard games on the lawn or sunbathing on a massive bolder.

Enjoy a delicious and memorable dinner in Lakehills (15min), Bandera (20min) or Boerne (25min). Or stay in and grill out on the provided propane grill and/or firepit grate.
Spend you evening sharing laughs around the provided fire pit as you take in the dazzling canopy of stars. (Firewood available for sale)

Casa Avecita is a 1 bedrooms and 1 baths with an high quality memory foam pullout couch (this is not your average pullout bed!)

The DINING ROOM features bay windows looking out over the river, with seating for 4.

The BATHROOM has a shower mounted Soap, Shampoo and Conditioner dispenser, as well as 4 wall hooks for towels.
Blow dryer, makeup towels, makeup remover wipes and feminine products are provided for guests.

All bedrooms and the living room have extension cords with USB ports and power outlets.

Bandera getaway

Great trip, cool place to stay. Felt safe a secure ar Sparrow Bend. We had to small Cada Avaceita but it was perfect. So many cool artistic rustic touches and comfy. Great view of the river from the back porch with everything we needed i side. We would like to bring the kids and their families and rent Casa Tupo as well We will definitely be back. Susie

Amazing riverfront cottage!

This small cottage was everything and more. Exactly as pictured in the photos. Very cozy and welcoming. All instructions and information provided prior to your arrival were great and very helpful when navigating the property. Fell in love with this beautiful and peaceful property. Definitely will be booking more stays in the future both with the cottage and campsites. You will wake up to deers and wild turkeys roaming and do not forget the beautiful view of the river. Please save yourself time and just book your stay here and you will not regret it.

Quiet get away

I’m from the Dallas area, this place was perfect for getting away from the city and enjoying the piece and quiet. The communication was great and she always answered right away. The water level was extremely low, but was fun for my pup to enjoy and you could see clear through it. Some fish were spotted, not a lot. I wouldn’t go for just fishing. Sadly when I went I could not kayak but I did enjoy walking the water line. There were lots of deer in the area so that was fun to see. I would come back again for the peace and quiet and the great views.

Wonderful

The property is beautiful. Even with our cold weather this spring break, our kids still enjoyed the river when they could. The house is super cozy. Wi-Fi can be spotty from time to time but we just switched between wifi and hotspots. The noise in the morning can be a little loud because we’re right next to the bathrooms and cars and people can be heard in the early morning but that’s about it. Everything you need in the house is there, I just wish I we would have brought another blanket but we had no idea it’d be cold! Lol. The river itself is crystal clear and everyone who camps around is so nice. Wonderful stay. Thank y’all again.

During the day couldn’t stay in living room. Due to a/c not cooling. The kitchen and dining floors were dirty. Refrigerator freezer was dirty and an empty ice bag left the n freezer. The water was too low in the river water was stagnant. We left one day early.

Great set up by the river.

The place was very clean and located close enough to SA that we could take our whole family and enjoy some time together for a staycation. Even with the lack of rain the river was beautiful and provided some great kayaking opportunities for our boys. So many deer around each night while we had smore's over the fire. Beautiful!!

Peaceful and unique!

We stayed at Casa Avecita for four nights in early June, using it as a home base while exploring hill country on our first trip to Texas. It was a peaceful spot, offering daily exposure to deer and birds. No campers were there during our stay, so the sounds heard were birdsong, occasional cars, roosters, a donkey.... Access to the Medina River for daily dips was wonderful although the drought kept the water level on the low side. The cabin was clean, nicely appointed and very comfortable. There are a couple convenience stores in the area (none within walking distance), and the closest town is Bandera, about a 20 minute drive. The owner shared detailed directions and instructions ahead of our arrival and checked in via VRBO to see if we needed anything. She was very responsive when we had questions.

What makes this property unique

A lake when the water is high, a beautiful river when the waters low. All crowned by a majestic limestone bluff, complete with cave and endless room for adventures.

This land was once a part of a wagon trail along the river and, if you're lucky, you can still find arrowheads along the paths.

The property is gated with a high privacy fence along the neighboring borders for security. north of the property is a 15 acres of undeveloped HOA land which gives the property a very private feel.
