Thanks Merri for your review. I would have appreciated a bit of more attention to house rules. There were marks from a suitcase or carry on on the master bedroom desk which are permanent scratches. Also, your review does not reflect continuous communication I had with you when you repeated everything was great. I believe for the price paid and amenities offered, it is not easy to find a competing property in the neighborhood and beyond. Thanks for staying at my house anyways. My house is in southwest Austin which is considered a better neighborhood in general compared to south Austin. Just as a clarification.

Great stay for Austin

We had our annual girls’ trip and this was the perfect arrangement for the three of us. The pool was perfect for the hot days. The host went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. Olstad is so kind!

Thank you for your review. There are black out shades in all the 3 bedrooms but I understand that the some guests including yourself may prefer curtain in the living room as well. As far as I know the house never had curtain for the windows in the living room/dining room. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and your trip to Austin TX.

Nice House in So Austin with pool

We stayed for four days to attend a HS graduation. The house was as described. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was very clean and well equipped, and it was fun to hang around the pool. Communication with the owner was easy and he was responsive. Would highly recommend.

Good location and house layout is well done, but it needs to be thoroughly cleaned (including all windows). And the water pressure is poor in the bedrooms. Unlikely we will return unless these issues are resolved.

John, you stated everything was great right after your check in so I am confused how your opinion changed after 10 days of stay. There is no daily cleaning in VRBO properties so maybe you are more used to staying in hotels that you receive daily cleaning. You mentioned windows are dirty which is not true. They are older and are fogged due to humidity so there is no way to clean inside the space between the glasses. You rented a 3 bedroom 2 full bath house in a nice neighborhood for tire price of an average hotel room without any of the amenities the house offers so I think your expectations should be rechecked. Also, I would have appreciated it if you had let me know if you wanted to have extra guests in the house. Your reservation was for 2 people. Unfortunately I will not be accepting you in my house again and I will not recommend you to any other hosts.

I am getting to know Austin better day by day (although out of town alot) and could give you recommendations in terms of the attractions and fun things to do inside and around Austin. Why they chose this property

This is a perfect gate away in a safe and quiet neighborhood offering all you need to relax and enjoy your time in Austin. You are very close to major gorceries and outlet stores , shopping centers such as wholefoods, Costco, Target, Walmart, HEB, coffee shops, restaurants, TjMaxx, Nordstom, Macy's and many more. You have super easy access to major highways in Austin to get where you want to go fast and easy. You have from 12-15 minute drive to downtown Austin from my door and can get a ride share very easily in this neighborhood as well. There are also bus stops not far from my house just in case you like to use public transportation.
