Westwind Penthouse 901 is located on the 9th floor with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths with a private balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The condo has been recently remodeled with an open concept design, a gourmet kitchen with new appliances and the master bedroom has an updated en suite bathroom with double vanity and tub/shower combo. The primary bedroom has a King, the three additional bedrooms have queens and the living room has a new two separate recliner sofa. The kitchen has a huge gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances all set in granite countertops. King, queen, queen, queen, murphy bed, no sofa sleeper. Sleeps 10.

*4 night minimum during summer/peak season.

Westwind Condominiums is located in the heart of Gulf Shores. Just 1.3 miles to the infamous Hangout at the corner of Hwy 59 and Beach Road. Westwind is a 9-story building with 4 units per floor (2nd-8th) located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Westwind has an outdoor pool and grilling area. Very nice!!

The location is great On the beach and close to all activity. The penthouse is good size and well appointed. The parking is very cramped. The bathrooms need updated.

Smaller pool and not much room to relax by pool. The master bedroom is by the hall and there’s a light on all night. Need black out curtains. Also pans and knives not great if you want to do much cooking. There’s an extra large ice maker which was nice for filling coolers. Bed in the front room was not comfortable but the rest of the beds had toppers that were nice. Host is responsive a helpful.

Cockroaches were spotted which was disgusting. It needed a deep cleaning and some repairs. The master bed desperately needs a new mattress and the shower curtain and liner needs replaced. The couch also needs to be replaced.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was great! A nice beachfront view and clean, up to date condo. Communication was very good. The only issue we had was the window in the master bedroom that faces the outside hallway. The light in that hallway shines with the power of a thousand suns, and the blinds on that window don't come close to keeping out the light when sleeping. We had to rig a thick blanket over the existing blinds to keep the light out. A blackout shade is definitely needed for that window. Overall, a minor inconvenience in a nice condo, and a great experience overall. We definitely recommend staying here.

Ok for a quick getaway....but....

Check in was easy, as the package was left outside the rental agency. It was a penthouse and we would have expected better for what we paid. The VCR/DVD a wouldn't work, when we looked at the remote control we found out the batteries were corroded in it so no one ever used this. The selection of movies at the rental office were very limited. Chair and umbrella service not included...The Jacuzzi tub did not work, so if you're looking for a hot tub they don't have one....nor a jetted tub. Hospitality platform very wonky, checkout did not work. But the beach was lovely! So if your looking for a quick get away and none of those issues concern you, this might be a nice option for you. But watch the price.....

Having a beach side pool was a must and it worked to perfection. Easy walkover to the beach and setup was a breeze. Gulf Shores has this thing where the canopies must be back from beach is a pain but we survived. Water was clear every day, a few jellies but nice.Condo needs updating and repairs. Sofa was okay in spots and others unusable. Beds in jack and jill bedroom needs mattresses replaced, need replaced! Kitchen and ice maker were great. Large dining table was perfect. Plenty of pots and pans and ice maker was great. Master bathroom was a little whacked. Toilet needed jiggling after flush and not enough room for a larger human to use. Outside light shined through master and needs an option to turn off, had to cover window with towels to sleep.

Nice place if you can live with very large palmetto cockroaches!!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo had a lot of space and good location but the cockroaches were a major problem for us. We filed complaints with management right away but it was 4 days later when they came to treat the building. There were also 4 light bulbs out throughout the condo and we requested replacement 3 times before they addressed the issue. Then, they only replaced 1 of the 4. It was otherwise a pleasant vacation. The parking attendant was a little extreme but otherwise we probably would not have had a place to park on the property. I would not stay here again due to the cockroach issue, especially when we paid over $5,500 for the week. For that amount of money, you should at least get 2 chairs and an umbrella for the week. Something management should consider.

Very beautiful condo! Plenty of space for 10 people. Highly recommend. The description says 1 king and 3 queen size beds, it’s not it is 1 king and 3 full size beds. Makes ver difficult with kids sleeping with you.

The dishes were dirty in the cabinets. Dust everywhere. Dirty towels on top of the washer that we had to wash. It really just needs a good cleaning and new sheets.
