Wonderful "glamping" experience. The cabin was cute and cozy. Great bed, and the hot tub was a wonderful way to wind down after a day of hiking and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The outhouse was clean, had instant hot water for the shower! Firepit was great as was the grill both propane and charcoal. It is still very much a campsite, so if you are going make sure you bring all of the camping essentials, i.e. your camp kitchen kit, etc. We treated it like a regular camping trip and it turned out be a wonderful experience and our dog loved it!
The accomodations were as listed and comfortable. Paddleboat out on the pond was nice. Hot tub was relaxing. Very quiet and peaceful location. Hot shower was nice to have after a long hot day outside. Nice firepit to sit around at night.
Exactly as expected just disappointed to hear the day of that the hot tub was out of service.
The hot tub was a selling point when reservations were made. Understandable the weather was hot during the day but nightfall was much cooler for the use of the hot tub..

We had a very nice experience staying at Jean’s. The place is clean and well-equipped with the things you need for a quick getaway to have a comfortable outdoor experience. Jean responds promptly and is accommodating to our needs. We will definitely come back!
Was in town for one night for a concert. It was a nice quiet place to come back to after and not hear people in the hallway as you would a hotel. Wish we had more time to stay, but will definitely book again in the future.
Quaint little A-frame with plenty of space to hang out and explore. This was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my husband. We love camping and the outdoors and this property is beautiful, the A-frame made it easy and was perfect to relax and watch the heavy thunderstorms instead of worrying about the tent! If you enjoy interacting with friendly goats and pigs and possibly seeing a litter of piglets, highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back!
The owners are great! The tent is perfect, especially for a last minute trip with a small child (setting mine up myself would have taken forever and I only had time for one night with a tight time window. We spent all day on the pond in the boat and fishing. Can not wait to find time to go back! Location is close to a lot of hiking and water activities. Great diner named Spankys about two miles away.
Beautiful spot! Great hot tub. Went on the paddle boat and zip line, talked to a very cute pig. Bring your own water for coffee (there’s a machine with plenty of keurig pods) and drinking. We cooked on the gas grill and used the fire pit each night. There’s a shower but no sink, which was a bit awkward for washing dishes and brushing teeth. Owner might want to install one in or near the shower. Otherwise totally chill, charming, and private. Never met owner, but he communicated well.
Great place to disconnect for a few days. You don't need anything else. It really changes the vacation experience, being in contact with nature without having to be inside walls again. My toddler was very happy at the playground and with the animals on the farm across the street. The little refrigerator and wifi is very helpful. Hammocks are great to watch the stars at night.
I recommend bringing your own barbecue utensils and asking Jean for the instructions before arrival.

Not what I expected
A lot of things were very nice. The A frame cottage, the fire pit area, the hammocks. But we were looking for a more private more secluded place to stay. The owners house was about 75 yards away and in plain site of our camp. We brought our dog with us and planned her to be able to run free as she is well behaved. We ended up finding a local dog park near by so she could run. I felt that the farm animals on the property were cute but for my dog it made it more difficult to relax.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words about the A-frame cottage, fire pit area, and hammocks. We’re glad you enjoyed those features during your stay.
We understand that privacy is an important aspect when choosing a place to stay, and we’re sorry if the proximity of the main house impacted your experience. To provide better context for future guests, we do have a Google Earth map included in the photo gallery that shows the configuration of the cabin in relation to its surroundings, including the owners’ home.
Additionally, the presence of farm animals is noted in the property description, and there are photos included to give guests a clear understanding of what to expect. We’re glad to hear you found a local dog park where your furry friend could enjoy some off-leash time, and we understand that having farm animals nearby might add an unexpected dynamic for guests with pets.
Thank you again for your valuable input, and we hope this information helps future guests make the best choice for their stay.
I was passing through on a cross country trip, with two Corgis. This sounded like a perfect spot - and was!
The A-Frame was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. This is Glamping at it's best. Jean, the host, host recently installed a\n on demand water heater for the shower. Wonderful!
There is WiFi, if you don't want to disconnect,, and a projection TV in the A-Frame that you can project your apps from your phone.
The property has a beautiful 1 acre pond.
The host has goats and piglets across the pond.
Jean, the host was super nice and had very good communications. I highly recommend.
Thank you Jean!! Our stay on the property was fantastic! We love the outdoors and this way we were able to have an area private to ourselves to enjoy. We had success with fishing in the pond and used the paddle boat for a gorgeous view of the property. Along with us we brought our two pups and they are great off leash so they had quite the adventure as well. Lots of swimming in the pond! The farm animals were a great addition during our stay too. It was raining for a good portion of our trip but the tent kept up nice and dry and a heater was available in the tent if needed. Can't say enough good things about Jean as well as our stay and it will be very hard not to come back on our next trip!

Awkward
We arrived for our stay and met the owner who showed us where to park. We had to drive through his yard to get to the cabin, that was basically in the backyard of their house. We felt very awkward because the pictures show the cabin as being fairly private and gives a sense of some seclusion, however that is not the case. The cabin is cute and the immediate area was nice, but the pond is a bit smaller than the pics show and their house is about 40yds away. Unfortunately due to a family emergency, we were only able to be there a few hours, but we would've left the next morning anyway. I was looking for a quiet, peaceful, private getaway and this was not what I expected.

Dear Irene,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations.
To clarify, our property spans 4.56 acres, and the house is located across the pond from the cabin, approximately 166 yards (500 feet) away. While there are nearby properties, we strive to maintain a sense of privacy and tranquility, as depicted in our listing photos and descriptions.
Additionally, our listing specifies that it is a pond, not a lake, covering approximately one acre. The cabin has its own entrance, and your vehicle is parked around 75 feet away from the cabin, ensuring ease of access.
We always aim to accommodate our guests’ needs, and I wish you had communicated your discomfort during your stay. There were better ways to address your concerns to ensure a more comfortable experience for you. Unfortunately, without this feedback during your stay, we were unable to take steps to make your visit more enjoyable.
In your private message, you mentioned having a family emergency and expressed regret about leaving early, saying: “I apologize for leaving so quickly today, I had a family emergency and unfortunately had to come home as soon as I could. I understand there isn’t a refund and wish we could’ve stayed the entire time. Thank you!” This message indicated some level of satisfaction with the property. However, as the busiest day of the year (July 4th) had already passed, a refund was not possible. It seems this may have influenced the tone of your public review.
Despite your negative review, I will give you a 5-star rating as you were kind and respectful during our interaction. I wish you had been more honest about your experience, as other guests rely on these reviews for their bookings.
If you have further suggestions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future.
Best regards,
Not what We expected!? We actually had to leave, right-then-and-there (after talking to Jean) b/c we just couldn't stay there, "at all", under those conditions! The initial overview (in website @ booking) of the property details are vague, the website never says, a "detached bathroom", (we couldn't find that detail in the "details" of property. That was the 1st issue! The 2nd issue, was The compost toilet, no deal on that for that amount of money/night! 3rd issue, The paddle boat (as part of the rental pckg) was filthy, mildewy, full of rain water, no deal using that either!, 4th issue, No "privacy fence around hot-tub", no deal! especially when the property owner is only "75yrds away" from our point-of-view! 5th issue, having to see, a broken-down old, utility-truck in your view, as your coming down the driveway, (not very inviting) plus, the property itself... 6th issue...looks very unkept, un-tidy, & un-inviting. So, a waste of our 2 hour drive, and a waste of spent I'll never probably see. no stars
We reserved Jean's place for our weekend getaway from NYC to be in the nature, possibly in the woods, in a cabin under the stars. And I have to say, Jean's place really delivered the vision I had in my mind when I made the booking.
We were informed, when we booked the place, that the cabin is not ready and that there is some construction going on. However, because we had already made the reservation, Jean made sure that the place was ready for us. It was raining when we got there, which made the pathway to the cabin a little slippery. Jean made sure that the pathway was closed and there was an alternate pathway to get to the cabin. The cabin itself was just perfect; there was a small fridge, there was heat, a proper bed with proper linens and wifi. The small fireplace outside the cabin, with chairs created a really cozy environment and the bbq grill was just the cherry on top of the cake. There was also a little paddle boat, even though my wife was just a little scare to get in there, we did a little boating in the pond. The peace that we felt when we were in the middle of that pond just listening to the sounds of the nature was just incomparable. It was truly amazing experience, and I cannot wait to plan my next getaway to this place.
I want to start by saying we had a lovely time and the accommodations were exactly what they looked like in the photos - simple, (mostly) secluded, clean, and refreshing. We would absolutely come back and stay again; it was exactly what we needed. Even the composting toilet wasn't as scary as I feared! The owner is very responsive to messages, which is great.
You'll need to bring everything you need (except sheets) - drinking water, small wash bin, coal for the grill, grill utensils, cookware, lighter, plates, utensils, cups, trash bags, paper towels, etc. etc. We had some of those things and got creative! The listing doesn't specify and the check-in instructions don't provide any information other than the address.
When we first pulled up, we were shocked to be honest. I knew from the photos and another review that mentioned farm animals as a nice touch that there were going to be goats, but we were not expecting the initial experience. The photos for the listing are beautifully taken, and perfectly angled. The property has the main house on it not too far away (but not too close either! Privacy was definitely there!), and the farm animals are RIGHT THERE where we were asked to park. The smell was strong near them, but they are well cared for and clean. There are pigs and goats. Once you walk to the cabin area, it's perfect, and with a mindset for simplicity, it is simply perfect. We stayed two nights and didn't leave the property, enjoying the fire pit and pond.

It's not as private as you think. As soon as you look across the lake, there's a house staring at you,Not knowing if anyone is there or not if you want some privacy, I would definitely try to go to a different place. We did enjoy the fire pit and the Jacuzzi was nice and it might have been better on a summer night. But we did go in the middle of march weather permitting also very muddy , and you cannot park your vehicle close to the site, so make sure you pack lite.
Super awesome/ friendly host with a gorgeous place
We had a great time, the place is awesome and would definitely recommend 10/10!! Bring extra blankets during the winter time cause it’s cold cold but I like the cold haha… preciate ya Jean look forward to seeing you during the summer time one day!
This property was an adventure in the Pocono Moutains. The tent was transformed into a one room suite equipped with a large enough bed for 2, solar generator the provided lighting and power device for those who can't always unplug. The pond on the property offered a variety of wildlife viewing and the owners graciously allowed us to drop a line in the water and try our luck. We enjoyed a short drive to the near by Mouny Aire casino for a little bit of the Pocono nightlife. Be sure to pack some wine and s'mores to enjoy by the firepit at night!

About the host
Hosted by Jean
Hello! I’m Jean, originally from New York, and now a proud resident of the Poconos since 2021. I love spending my days exploring nearby hiking trails, paddling on the pond behind the cabin, and tinkering on creative DIY projects, especially when it comes to improving our tiny A‑frame retreat. Hosting gives me the chance to share my passion for nature, sustainability, and simple joys with travelers from all over. I’m always happy to point you toward hidden local gems and help make your stay truly memorable.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with this corner of the Poconos the very first time I drove down its winding, tree‑lined roads. Here, the air smells of pine and earth, and the only sounds at dawn are songbirds waking up the forest. In autumn, the hills explode in fiery reds and golds; in winter, everything glistens under a blanket of snow. I chose this neighborhood for its peaceful seclusion—you can kayak across the pond and still spot deer grazing on the opposite shore, or hike a quarter‑mile to find a hidden waterfall dripping into a fern‑covered gorge.
What I enjoy most is the ever‑changing tapestry of seasons. On misty spring mornings, I’ll sip coffee on the deck while wildflowers bloom at my feet. Summer evenings are perfect for roasting marshmallows over the fire pit under a sky so clear you can trace the Milky Way. And no matter the time of year, there’s a friendly nod or wave from the neighbors, locals who cherish the land and love sharing tips on secret fishing spots or the best apple‑picking farms nearby. This is the kind of place where every stay feels like coming home to the heart of nature.
What makes this property unique
This property offers a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, nestled within serene wilderness and offering a tranquil pond, paddle boat , a 3 person hot tub and outdoor entertainment options.
