We stayed a few extra days before family wedding in Fairhope at this wonderful house on Fish River! All was as expected! Perfect for our family with 6 adults and 3 children. We will definitely be back soon!
The cabin was a cute family home. There is plenty of space. We had 2 adults, 6 kids and a baby and it did not feel cramped. The dock was fantastic. Water toys and kayaks were a nice touch. They even had some popsicles in the freezer for us.
Quiet and relaxing area. The kids enjoys kayaking and swimming in the river. House was well kept and plenty amenities. Only con was the lighting on the docks didn’t work.
We live in Baldwin County so this property was very convenient for us to stay and have family and friends visit. The river is always a great place to enjoy causal time with friends and family.
We had a great time! The house has lots of character and has everything you need for playing in the water & enjoying the beautiful property. It was perfect for our crew, because the kids could all stay downstairs together. The gas grill was broken & we couldn't figure out how to turn on the dock lights, but the owner was very responsive and helpful. We are local and we are already planning a moms weekend here!

Stay for 6 nights sofa bed was broke location was little run down area house was great definitely needs update and tlc
This was a nice and roomy getaway convenient to our soccer tournament at Foley. I enjoyed hopping in one of the kayaks and paddling around on the Fish River.
We enjoyed our stay on Fish River and the cabin was perfect for our family! The deck was nice and large and had a peaceful view of the river. The kitchen was nicely stocked with lots of pots and pans and even extras like cooking spray and seasonings which we had forgotten :) There was plenty of parking, and the A/C and heater worked fantastic upstairs and downstairs! Location was perfect- only 20 minutes to downtown Fairhope. Thank you for hosting us!
Beautiful, spacious house with lovely view and dock
My son and I came to town for a long weekend and this house was exactly what the doctor ordered. It was clean and well-appointed. The view from the back porch is spectacular, the kayaks were clean and ready to go and the dock was a lovely place to hang out at the end of the day.
Beautiful scenery, loved the fishing pier, only drawback was too many stairs to climb for people like me with mobility problems, plus my age (74) carrying baggage and groceries up to the kitchen area.

Rustic family cabin
Beautiful grounds, deck and nice dock.
Bathrooms are dated with not enough towels.
Musty smell.
On three separate occasions workers showed up to the property unannounced to perform services during our week stay.

Small steps to increase comfort
Upon arrival the AC was completely off and the house was 92 degrees. Took the house 4+ hours to be livable. The front door sticks and hard to open especially when arriving late and dark. Master shower had hair in it and not properly clean.

Great location - lacking amenities
Beautiful property and location but the amenities are very lacking. The power and water to the new pier does not work. None of the exterior water is turned on either. If you're planning outdoor activities these are essential. Tjere was also roaches all over the interior of the house, especially in the freezer but all over the kitchen in general. Property manager took over 24 hrs to respond to my questions about power and water to the pier and exterior. I forgot a pair of shorts there and told the property manager exactly where they were and she asked the cleaners to look and they told her they didn't see them but they were there for sure.overall, it is a beautiful property with potential but having power and water to the pier is fundamental if you're planning outdoor activities and the roaches are disgusting.

Very disappointed
We were not able to access properly until late evening. Property smells badly of mildew. We asked host for information on property we were told information was in the guest book but there was no book on property

Temperature issues
Upon arrival the temperature in the property was over 90 degrees. Unacceptable. It took 8 hours to cool to 74 degrees. There was a Nest thermostat that the host had no access to, also unacceptable. Why have a remote access thermostat if you are not going to use it to provide for you guests comfort.
Second issue upon arrival, the Internet was off, had to unplug the modem and router to get it going.
Otherwise it was a nice rustic property, in a somewhat iffy neighborhood. Well stocked kitchen. There is a Keurig and a Mr. Coffee. There is a blanket chest the end the bed with a missing foot, kind of dangerous should someone sit on it.
Probably won't return to this place.
We had a fun family get-together at this rental and would stay here again! The house offered plenty of room for our family of six (ages 18-60). We spent most of the time fishing and kayaking on the river, grilled out a couple of nights, and enjoyed the large upper deck and hot tub. We were lucky enough to see two dolphins coming up the river one morning! We also visited Tom Jones Pottery, downtown Fairhope, the Weeks Bay estuary museum, and Jesse's Restaurant in Magnolia Springs during our stay. While there was a musty smell in the house, it wasn't a big deal for us and we brought scented candles after reading other reviews. We did have to purchase some extra necessities from the nearby Dollar General, which was our only big suggestion for improvement. We couldn't find extra trash bags, there were only two dishwasher pods (we needed to run the dishwasher once a day since we cooked a lot), there wasn't a general kitchen cleaner for tidying after cooking (only Windex), and we ran out of toilet paper in the downstairs bathroom. We may bring some extra things from home next time. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Less than pleased
We were less than pleased with this property, especially for the cost. We have stayed at several Vrbo properties on Fish River and this was by far the worst experience. The property looked much nicer online. The location was good and the house had plenty of space. However, it was musty smelling, there were leftover coffee grounds in the coffee maker, the bathtub in the main bathroom did not drain, there was mold/mildew on the shower curtain, and a large hairball in the washing machine. I’m not sure why the property and cleaning fees are so high for what we experienced. Hopefully the property manager will take note. I also sent these issues directly to the property contact and didn’t receive a reply. Hoping for a better experience next time.
