Experience the peace and serenity of days-gone-by when you stay in this spacious, completely renovated four-square farmhouse located in a quiet dairy farming neighborhood, five miles east of Cumberland and ten miles west of Rice Lake. This home is perfect for family gatherings, crafting get-togethers or relaxing vacations. Enjoy watching the bird activity in the massive oak trees as you sip your morning coffee on the beautiful front porch. Both children and adults will enjoy outdoor activities in the expansive back yard, surrounded by crops in the field and cows in the pasture. In the winter try cross-country skiing or snowshoeing through the fields and woods.

You will enjoy preparing meals in the spacious modern country kitchen with large center island. Relax in the large open living room with its media center, then sleep peacefully retiring to the large bedrooms and comfortable queen beds.

Beautiful clear water lakes are plentiful just minutes from the farm for boating, fishing, and swimming. Great place to go when needing to "run away from life" to relax. Hostess was very pleasant and helpful. House was very well supplied with anything you might need or want, loved the kitchen. Would definitely stay again if needing a place in the area.

This immaculately kept farmhouse offers a quiet and relaxing experience while situated in a beautiful rural setting. It is spacious with 4 large bedrooms, and a fully equipped kitchenkitchen. The farmhouse pays homage to the generations that lived there. I would highly recommend staying there.

The Farmhouse Retreat was a wonderful place for our annual family gathering. We enjoyed the house and its history as well as the beautiful, serene property. We have never stayed on a farm before. It was great! It's the cleanest place we have EVER stayed. Everything was there that we needed and more. We loved seeing the history of Cumberland is the books there and also seeing the history of the family. Everyone should come here! So quiet, decorated beautifully, everything you need, and loved getting away for a couple of days.

Fabulous location, beautiful house and wonderful host!

We rented this for our in-laws to stay at for our daughters wedding. The house is beyond beautiful! It is so warm and welcoming. The views from all the rooms make you relax instantly. We will definitely rent this again when we are in town.

Why they chose this property

This farm has been in my family since 1891 when my grandparents purchased the land from the Knapp-Stout Lumber Company. They cleared the land, built the farm, raised their family, and it has been the center of family activity since those days. In 2008 my husband and I completely renovated the house, inside and out, and it has since continued to provide the perfect gathering place for family and friends. We now would like to share this special place with you with the hope that you will enjoy your time in this special place as much as our family.
