About this property
Morning Dove farmhouse on Seneca lake wine trail
Morning Dove is a quaint, European-style renovated farmhouse in the heart of the Finger Lakes. Located along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, with a view of Seneca Lake, this cozy little house is a warm and welcoming place to stay during your travels to Upstate NY.
Morning Dove was originally built in the late 1800's but was completely renovated in 2021. We've kept some of the "old world" charm from it's early years....exposed original ceiling joists and other details. Walking in the front door, you'll enter the Living Room area which has an electric fireplace, Frame TV, and glass patio doors that bring in the view of the back yard and the lake in the distance. The doors lead out onto the back deck and the large yard.
From the Living Room, you can enter both the Dining room and the Kitchen. The Dining room has seating for 6, accessibility to the small half bath, and an arched doorway into the large Kitchen area. The Kitchen has custom cabinets built by a look craftsman, a large picture window, in front of the farm house sink, with a view of the lake, and is fully stocked with cookware, bakeware, and dinnerware for 6.
On the second floor you'll find two bedrooms. The Primary bedroom has a King size bed, an electric fireplace, and a Frame TV. Bedroom 2 has two Queen beds and a lounge couch. The full bath is located on the second floor and is spacious with a double sink, a walk in shower, and a soaking tub. The soaking tub has a large picture window in front of it, which boasts a fantastic view of Seneca Lake. In the hallway outside the bathroom and Bedroom 2, there is a nook with a desk...a great spot to sit if you have a bit of work to do while vacationing.
The backyard is large and the home has about an acre of greenspace. There is a backyard firepit with Adirondack chairs for enjoying an evening fire, a charcoal grill, and a egg chair swing hanging in the large maple tree. While the home is close to the main road running along Seneca Lake, and you can occasionally hear traffic, the backyard feels very private.
Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway for 2, a family vacation, or a friends weekend together, Morning Dove will feel like your cozy home away from home with it's comfortable furnishings and modern decor. The house is located just 1/4 mile from Seneca Lake and is about halfway between Watkins Glen and Geneva making it the perfect place to have access to Seneca Lake wineries, local small towns, eateries, and other Finger Lakes attractions.
