Oceanview Cottage Ideal for Families
You will love Kickin' Back in this semi-oceanfront vacation paradise that boasts partial ocean views! With 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and modern amenities, this home is ideal for a mid-size family and their beloved canine companion. To enjoy the wide-open beaches of South Nags Head, the Surfside Dr. beach access is just a short walk (only 500-ft.) away.

Outside, a long driveway and carport provides plenty of parking space and room to store your beach gear. On those perfect summer evenings, grill up a few burgers or sear your catch-of-the-day on the park style charcoal grill. Rinse off in the enclosed outdoor shower and head upstairs to go inside.

You'll find all four bedrooms on the bottom level. A cozy Queen Bedroom with TV shares a full-sized jack-and-jill bathroom with a spacious King Bedroom with TV. A third bedroom features 2 Twin Beds with a TV while the fourth bedroom has 2 Bunk Bed sets and is perfect for the kids. The twin and bunk rooms can access a full-sized bathroom in the hall.

Upstairs, the great room features vaulted ceilings, beautiful wood floors, ocean views, and comfortable furnishings. Gather around a large flat-screen TV for family movie night on a rainy day. A small dining room table doubles as the perfect location to enjoy your favorite board game or a few hands of Poker. The large, fully-stocked kitchen features a new stove, wood cabinetry and plenty of counter space. For extra dining space, the kitchen island has bar seating for three. In the morning, you'll love taking your coffee out to the oceanview deck where you can relax while the sun rises and, in the evenings, the rocking chairs offer a comfortable place to unwind. A picnic table makes for easy alfresco dining while soaking in the fresh, ocean breeze.

Kickin' Back is located in South Nags Head. Visitors love the location which offers more private, quiet, beaches but also keeps you just minutes away from shopping centers, restaurants, and local landmarks. The avid fisherman in the group can head up to Jennette's Pier or try their luck in an inshore or offshore charter out of Oregon Inlet or Pirate's Cove marinas. Climb the Bodie Island Lighthouse for a 360-degree view of the local terrain. If you prefer shopping, you'll be just a short drive away from the outlet mall and other popular shops. When it comes to dining options, you'll be able to enjoy any type of cuisine you desire but for seafood lovers, you'll find an endless supply of fresh-caught seafood right off the boat. Both Sugar Creek Restaurant and Miller's Restaurant are just a few minutes away and located right on the sound for delicious dinner with a view. Great location. Quiet area. Easy access to beach. Deck is wonderful with beautiful views of sunrises. Could use another bathroom if you came with a large family. Even had corn hole for us to use. I would stay again.

Location and layout were awesome! Overall condition of house was so-so. AC was broken when we got there. Couldnt open windows because screens were ripped. Had to wait up til midnight to have window units delivered then lost 2hrs to meet the AC repair.

The house was great although the second shower was so tiny it was almost unusable for adults. Everything was very comfortable and it was great to have sheets and towels provided. The house is decorated with adorable beachy theme. Ac works great. Beach access was a bit more difficult than photos seem to show. It looks like you can walk right onto the beach. You actually have to walk down the road and around a corner to get to the beach. This is a pet friendly house. We did not bring a pet. There wasn’t so much as one pet hair found in this house. It was very clean. Rooms were a very nice size. The thing we absolutely HATED had nothing to do with the house. Five pm check in and 9 am checkout sliced an entire day off of our vacation. After driving 12 hours it would have been nice to have a more reasonable check in time like 12 or 1 pm. Check out should be no sooner than 11 am. They have options for later/earlier but adds a significant fee. Not ok. At all. Otherwise a great area. Water and beach very clean. Restaurants are fantastic and tons of fun things to do here. Cigarette butts we’re left in the yard. We picked them up so we didn’t get blamed for that.
