About this property

❤️🐾 Magical 5 BR Cabin In the Trees, Steps to Lake

Whether you seek peace and solitude or lakeside fun, The Williwaw is your place to make memories. With a full kitchen, a lower level kitchenette, 2 fireplaces and 2 living areas, it's perfect for 1 or 2 families. 21,000 acres of state game lands are accessible from the backyard. The beach and dock area are just 1000 feet from the front door - close, but not so close that it ruins the solitude and quiet. Visit the many local attractions, then return to enjoy dinner among the trees on the large second story deck or roast marshmallows around a roaring fire under the stars.

If you've never heard the sounds of silence, winter at The Williwaw is the time for you. As the wind dislodges snowflakes from the trees, the early morning sun rises through the trees and makes each one shimmer like fairy dust. The crunch of snow underfoot is deafening and if you stand absolutely still, you can hear...nothing, just silence.

The Williwaw has three bedrooms on the second floor and two on the first floor. Upstairs, you will find one king bed and two queen size. All new, super comfortable mattresses with nice, crisp cotton sheets and tons of pillows to choose from. The black out curtains allow you to sleep in and enjoy your time away. Upstairs also features the full kitchen, dining room, a full bath with tub, and a living room with a gas fireplace.

If you need even more space, the downstairs features an office which has a pull out couch and a bunk room with a full over full bunk bed. There is a second full bathroom, a washer and dryer, a wet bar and mini fridge, a pool/poker/game table and a second full size living room with another fireplace.

The backyard features real wood Adirondack chairs and a firepit which can be enjoyed any time of year. We provide beach chairs and towels and the big lake beach and playground (Pines Lake) is just 1000 steps from the front door - a flat walk on a quiet street - close, but not too close to the hustle and bustle of the beach.

Our association also features a small ski hill and sledding hill with a T-Bar. The 900' drop is perfect for a relaxing family day with little ones or when you just don't want to fight the crowded hills at the several local ski resorts. Your rental includes 6 free wristbands which grant you access to the amenities at Locust Lake, which include the lakes, ski and sledding hills, and any clubhouse events. Maybe you want to watch the game with a crowd or attend paint and sip - the office will have an updated schedule of events which you can check upon arrival.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Additional guests (above 6) will incur a small per person fee and each vehicle will also be charged a nominal fee upon registration. Registration is done direction through the association website and we do not control the registration or fees, they are paid directly to Locust Lake Village. Registration MUST be completed 3 days prior to arrival. Door codes cannot be issued until registration is received.

PLEASE NOTE: Per a recent township regulation, maximum occupancy is 10 people. No exceptions. We do ask that occupancy is limited to 8 adults max plus children due to sleeping arrangements. Permit Number issued: 007140

Great spot in the Poconos!
We had a great time at Chris and Randyl‘s cozy cabin in the woods. We came for a short ski weekend, and the cabin had everything we needed to keep ourselves and the kids occupied. The sleeping arrangements were perfect with the large bunkbed, pullout couches, and plenty of bedrooms on the main floor. The tvs, board games and fireplace were good for nights in and the kids loved the ring game! Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Williwaw!!
Our family of 10 (3 families) had the most wonderful, relaxing time at The Williwaw! Plenty of space, comfortable accommodations, beautiful neighborhood. We enjoyed the surrounding areas as well with tubing, outlet shopping, antiquing, walks, and local restaurants. The house was immaculate and the two living spaces worked well for our combination of adults and teenagers! We loved it so much and would love to return in the summer to experience LVV lake life! Thank you so much!

About the host

Host profile image
Hello! We are outdoor enthusiasts who love to be in nature. We enjoy hiking and camping, as well as off road riding. We've wanted to become hosts ever since our first airbnb experience as renters. We created a space that is warm and inviting, magical and comfortable - a home away from home where precious memories can be created. We hope you enjoy our slice of heaven as much as we do...welcome!

Why they chose this property

The Williwaw (funny name, right?) is simply a great place to stay! It's central to such a wide variety of activities, you can visit every weekend and not run out of things to do. The cabin is super clean and comfy with all the touches of home which make it easy for a family vacation. The kids will love playing outside in the woods, roasting marshmallows or telling ghost stories in the bunk beds. Adults will appreciate the huge wrap around second story deck nestled among the trees which offers a great place to grill, visit with friends, or just curl up with a good book and a steaming cup of tea.
Locust Lake Village boasts three lakes with fishing, swimming and boating as well as several beaches, a playground and tennis courts, all of which you will have access to during your stay. In the winter, we've got a ski hill with a T-bar and a sledding hill for the kiddos, and of course we're within a few minutes of 3 major ski slopes. The clubhouse always has different fun activities too, such as line dancing or paint and sip. For a fun day out, we're 20 minutes from Kalahari water park, or for a day of hiking and nature, head to Hickory Run State Park just a few minutes in the other direction. The tourist town of Jim Thorpe is just down the road and features white water rafting, mountain biking, or a real steam train ride for a leisurely tour of the Lehigh Gorge. Lake Wallenpaupack is about a 30-40 minute drive, but it's a lovely ride through the country and there you can run a larger boat for fishing or even water skiing. After a day of fun, return to the Williwaw for a relaxing evening and a restful sleep. We have different mattress types in each room with different firmness, all of which are comfortable and a ton of pillows to choose from. The sun rises through the trees in the back yard and creates a magical landscape, for those early risers, we highly recommend an early cup of coffee on the deck or in the back yard to appreciate the quiet.

What makes this property unique

Why do we love the Williwaw? Because it's time away from the daily grind. Even on the weekends, we find that our free time is filled with chores and to do lists. At the Williwaw, our time is our own - we're free to do any of a million different activities, or to sit and do nothing at all. Those quiet times spent together in the woods are magical and priceless. We know that you will find your own whimsical way to enjoy the Williwaw and we're so happy to share our corner of the woods with you!
