About this property
Borrego Springs Mid-Century Modern Gem - Step back in time!
This cool mid-century modern house is right on the De Anza Golf, a close drive from the Anza Borrego State Park and a quick jaunt from small town or Borrego Springs. Almost all of the architectural details have remained untouched since mi this home was built in 1957 and we love it that way. Almost all of the rooms have doors that open on to a large covered patio that runs the length of the house.
From the original pink bathrooms to the still-working oven and stove, we love the vintage details throughout the home. Sitting around a campfire while viewing the starry night sky is the perfect ending to a day of hiking in the nearby Anza Borrego State Park. Or, put on some Sinatra and mix a groovy cocktail made with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice made from the trees in the yard. Please note: the house was designed with outdoor living in mind so the primary dining table is outdoors on the covered patio.

About the host
Hosted by Sandra Kruger
When I'm not traveling, I like to hang out in my Borrego Springs MCM home or at my farm in north central Oregon. I love the snow and ski as often as I can. I'm passionate about Mid Century Modern homes and furnishings. My husband and I are recent empty nesters and semi-retired farmers who love hosting guests at our properties.
Why they chose this property
I grew up in a Mid-Century Modern home and, when I walked into this house, I fell in love...initially with the Texas limestone fireplace full of fossils...but later with everything else. I don't subscribe to the idea that "old" things should be discarded. I love it that almost everything in this house, from the pink toilets to the stove, is original.
What makes this property unique
The night sky is amazing. The grapefruit picked off of the trees in the yard.
