About this property
Grand historic Newport home! Center of town. Walk to everything!
Newport charm abounds in this 6,000 sq ft historical 1850's home. Whether your planned visit is for relaxation, family affairs, celebrations or simply enjoying the seaside city of Newport, this is the perfect home away from home! Appropriate for accommodating groups of family, friends, wedding parties, family reunions, corporate retreats, and more.
This historical home is located in the heart of Newport within walking distance of just about everything. The neighborhood is quiet, with many large residential homes, and some quieter inns or B&Bs. It is just a few blocks from historic Bellevue Avenue, the Tennis Hall of Fame, and the Viking Hotel.
Bowens Wharf with all of its history and famous restaurants including The Clarke Cooke House and The Black Pearl is only a 10 minute walk from the house.
The large chefs kitchen with butlers pantry is fully stocked with everything you would need to serve a simple meal or a celebration. Cookware, glassware, flatware, dishes, serving platters, etc... A collection of menus from local restaurants for delivery are in the kitchen, or the name of a private chef can be provided by Elizabeth, our property manager.
The beautiful dining room with its historic 1930's mural (depicting some of Newport's most recognizable landmarks), has seating for 10-12. The adjacent solarium has two cafe tables for morning coffee!
Each bedroom is its own oasis with its own Keurig coffee maker, ice bucket, and mini fridge, and all have private bathrooms.
Enjoy wine, cheese and crackers on the front porch and watch the passers bye, or take in the tranquility of the private rose garden in the rear yard with its 4 Adirondack chairs. Wedding parties have used the backyard for games ie: Croquet, Bocce... probably non of them really successful, but they had fun!
The City of Newport has very strict guidelines in order for us to retain a "special use permit" for short term rentals, and we abide by all of them. We have quarterly inspections for fire and all safety alarm systems. The City also requires that there is a property manager or owner living in the home year-round. Elizabeth, the property manager lives at 24 Kay with her 5lb Cavapoo, (Poppy) in a little, but adorable apartment located on the second floor with its own entrance at the rear of the house.
We look forward to welcoming you!

We had the best stay! The house perfectly accommodated our extended family for a long wedding weekend. The location is amazing - walkable to shops and restaurants and the house itself is gorgeous. Would definitely stay here again!
Elizabeth is exceptional — she is extremely responsive and accommodating. The house is well-stocked, spacious, and so thoughtfully decorated. It truly is a stunning property and perfect for our holiday-themed bachelorette/girls weekend away. We enjoyed our stay immensely and can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you again, Elizabeth!
We had a great time staying at 24 Kay Street. The location was perfect; the gathering space was just what we needed; the bedrooms were very comfortable and the contact, Elizabeth, was very responsive and helpful. We would have liked to have more outdoor seating in the backyard since the weather was so beautiful.
Our stay over Memorial Day weekend was delightful It was perfectly located to retail, restaurants and entertainment The house was beautifully appointed, charming and very comfortable. Checking in and out were seemless.
Historic home provided a warm and inviting vacation for our family to host for our daughters’ wedding. Ample space for quiet gatherings as well as large dining area for family dinner. Garden was an added bonus, as well as the front porch for relaxing and enjoying the area. Location was excellent. Host was available to answer questions promptly. Truly an enjoyable stay!
The house was in a great location with plenty of room inside for our group. Some of the bathrooms could have been a bit more updated but overall the house was clean and well-kept. Would recommend for a big group as each room has its own bathroom.
Stunning home! Walking distance to all the sights. Beautifully decorated. Everything you could possibly need for a perfect get away. Kitchen has all utensils for entertaining. Our guests were thrilled with the layout and comfort. Easy check-in and checkout.
This home was the perfect place to host a girls weekend. Elizabeth is an incredible host, and all the bedrooms/bathrooms were spacious and charming. Plenty of space for guests. We all hope to return!
Can't say enough good things about this property. We had an amazing time on our girls' trip and a big part of that was the house. Great spaces in which to gather, a precious kitchen and dinette area, everything you could possibly need in said kitchen, a gracious host...we will definitely return!
This was such a gorgeous house and we were right in the middle of all there is to enjoy about Newport. Easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants as well as the port. The house was magnificent in its style and comfort. We would highly recommend staying here with your friends and family.
This is very nice, clean, large home within walking distance to downtown. We were 5 sisters away for a few days and the 5 bedrooms with on suites made for a very comfortable stay. I would stay again or recommend to anyone.
This was perfect for our family celebration! Ten of us stayed in this beautiful, historic house in a great location - within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Based on property manager's recommendation, hired a private chef to provide meals - Nicole Craft at Craft & Willow. She was exceptional! Communication with property manager (Elizabeth) was excellent. Would definitely stay here again!
