Tucked deep in an enchanting Appalachian Mountain Holler(Hollow, if we want to be more formal), Babbling Brook Cabin feels like something out of a movie scene—or the pages of a storybook. From the moment you begin the drive up the gravel road, you’re greeted with views so charming they almost feel unreal. Perfectly situated at 3,900 feet above sea level, this 2,441 sq ft mountain haven blends the rustic beauty of the Blue Ridge with the timeless elegance of an English countryside home, a reflection of one of the owners who was raised in the United Kingdom. The result? A cozy, welcoming escape that feels both grand and familiar—like a mountain lodge and a charming English country house rolled into one.
Set on 43 private acres, our property borders the 4,500-acre Grayson Highlands State Park—home to famous wild ponies and endless panoramic views. A marked trail winds from the cabin to the top of the property, reaching nearly 4,000 feet above sea level, where you can take in the sweeping mountain scenery in total privacy. Wildlife is abundant—watch deer wander the apple trees, chipmunks and groundhogs play along the trails, and countless bird species that make our land a birder’s dream.
In spring, the hillsides are alive with meticulously planted blooms and a rainbow of wildflowers. In summer, enjoy cool mountain breezes and take a refreshing dip in one of our three spring-fed waterfalls and natural pools (swim at your own risk—life jackets provided). Autumn paints the landscape in rich golds, reds, and oranges, while winter brings peaceful snowfall that transforms the property into a wonderland.

"We chose this neighborhood for its serene and natural beauty. Nestled in the heart of the Virginia Mountains, our cabin is surrounded by lush forests, multiple streams, and stunning mountain views. The peaceful ambiance and seclusion make it the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. One of the unique aspects of this area is the fresh, chilled spring water that flows through our property, providing a refreshing and natural experience right at your doorstep. We love the outdoor activities available, from hiking and exploring the trails to fishing in the streams. The community here is warm and welcoming, offering a sense of tranquility that’s hard to find elsewhere. Whether it's enjoying a quiet evening by the fire or exploring the great outdoors, this neighborhood provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable getaway."
What makes this property unique
"Our mountain cabin offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern amenities. With four bedrooms and two full bathrooms, it comfortably accommodates families and groups. The cabin is designed with comfort in mind, featuring a king-size bedroom downstairs with a private full bathroom, three bedrooms upstairs (including another king-size bedroom, a full-size bedroom, and a twin trundle bed with an additional twin pull-out), and an extra queen-size floor mattress/futon available for additional guests. One of the standout features of our property is the chilled spring water, sourced directly from a stream on the property and filtered with a UV filter for safe drinking. We also offer high-speed internet with Starlink, making it easy to stay connected even in this rural setting. For eco-conscious travelers, a free EV charger (240V at 40 AMP) is available.
