Place was clean and we had plenty of room. We had no issues, however the neighborhood is most certainly not great. Outside of that fact everything was just fine and the place is definitely big enough for a larger group.
It was very cozy and comfortable. Everything was clean and the instructions were very clear . The neighborhood actually wasn’t bad at all . Overall, this was a wonderful stay . I’ll most definitely book this house again for a getaway.
We had a very unconventional stay because tornados had come in the evening of our 1st night and power was out. The host did everything they could to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. We were close by everything we wanted to do and overall had a great stay. We would stay here again any time we are in the area.
The house and host were amazing!! The house was so cute and clean and had everything we needed! Check in and out was easy. The host responded to us right away and even let us check in a little early since we arrived early. The location was not what we had imagined. The first night there were multiple gun shots and shell casings in front of the house and every night there were people walking up and down the street being super loud at all hours of the night.

Thank you for your kind words about the home’s cleanliness, amenities, and our hosting. We work hard to make every stay comfortable and enjoyable. We’re sorry to hear that outside noise impacted your experience. While we can’t control all neighborhood activity, guest safety is our top priority, and we take any concerns seriously. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to ensure our guests have a positive stay.”
Very well kept beautiful home property. The hospitality within the property was well appreciated. My daughter had an awesome time. We definitely will book again
This property is hand downs the best. It’s so nice on the inside and very cozy. The host is a great communicator and is very friendly and made my stay one of the best. Highly recommend
This was a beautiful home. My children loved the bunk beds, check in and check out was very easy! Communication was awesome. Very close to everything in the city. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Communication was great. Host made sure everything was all set for us. Even allowed a few extra guests. This property and owner deserves every coin in your pocket!
We stayed here for just one night on our way to town. Melissa was very responsive to all messages. The smoke detector had a low battery alarm that was beeping, and within 15 minutes, Michael arrived to fix it.
I had my daughter’s 18th bday party here. The space was so clean and it accommodated every need. Melissa was also so nice and easy to reach. I would book again!

This was a good stay overall. An older house with some minor AC issues, but really just related to the house’s age. Overall comfortable beds and a good experience. Our only “heads up” we would offer is research the neighborhood first. When I read “historic” I thought old houses that had to be kept up to maintain a historical landmark status. Nope. This area is abandoned houses and businesses with boarded windows and looks a bit sketchy. We felt decently safe in the end, but my wife and kids would have preferred a different area if possible.

The location is a NO
Although this property and host was nice, the location of this house is a NO. I was not diligent in researching the area, and I implore you to be if you are considering staying here. The crime rate of Hyde Park is more than 450% higher than the national average, 750% higher for violent crimes (according to the FBI in 2024).Timeline of the events that occurred the night we stayed here: 10:00 pm Multiple gun shots11:00 pm More gun shots 1:00 am More gun shots and fireworks 10:00 pm - 12:00 am Helicopter flying over the neighborhood 11:00 pm - 1:00 am Street racing 2:42 am Smoke detector goes off for no reasonDog barking across the street Quiet hours are after 10:00 pm, per the hosts informational booklet. My husband was up the entire night to ensure we were safe. When I messaged the host about these events, she stated that “everyone’s definition of safety was different.” Although I do agree with this statement, gun shots do not make anyone feel safe. Again, I implore you to do your own research about this location before choosing to stay here.

I do not recommend this guest. She was allowed an early check-in around 2 PM and made no complaints until the following morning—only after demanding a refund. The toilet leak was not reported until that point. Upon entering the home after checkout, it was clear the water had been running long enough to cause damage to the living room ceiling. The issue could have been resolved quickly if reported earlier.
The guest booked two nights but checked out after one. It appears the second night was only booked to meet the city’s required 2-night minimum for short-term rentals.
The home is located in a residential area undergoing revitalization and has hosted many respectful families without issue. While safety perceptions vary, the guest’s exaggerated claims and refund demands did not align with how the home was used or maintained during the stay. Hosts should proceed with caution.

100+ year old three story
We read the owners description of an area in urban revitalization...some people may not walk at night. I skimmed. The neighborhood left lots to be desired.
However, the house had plenty of room for 2 families. FYI the 3rd story master is 34 stairs up. The only thing we would have liked is a table big enough for the number of beds it slept. There was just a small table for 4.
In case you need to plug more than two appliances in, maybe ask to leave basement open. The homeowner had to come reset the breaker because we popped the fuses with 3 pizza pizazz, but she came out and we appreciated it.
Check in was fine, found door unlocked from cleaning service, and check out is at 10 which felt very rushed with kids when most places are 11 or 12.
Close to the City Museum amd Hidden Valley. Next time I'll probably look over the bridge. House and management were great.
Celebrated my 30th birthday at Melissa’s fantastic property! I was VERY WELL pleased with the way she had everything laid out! The master bedroom is the best! On the TOP floor but we’ll worth the steps!
Melissa was very attentive when sending messages! He turnaround time was impeccable! Even when I decided at the last minute to change my checkout day we got it handled within 20 mins!
I DEF would stay here again if it’s available!
Easy to find and park in front of the house. Neighbor was kind and friendly. Lots of beds for 5 kids and two adults and lots of towels. Lots of stairs and air was iffy, but it was a nice place to crash for the night
