Very nice cabin but the Jacuzzi tub in the master bath shot out debris when turned on and the deck area and fireside area could've been more picked up.
The cabin was awesome! Definitely had the secluded vibe with lots of space for family fun inside/outside with a short drive to river! Very clean. Small tip to visitors, bring and use bug spray as you don’t want to make a rookie mistake like me and have chigger bites😅
Real cool cabin. Huge yard and no neighbors. Comfy beds and great kitchen. Bring your own food. We grilled out and made a fire every night. Jeff’s Canoe is an outfitter just 20 mins down the road.

Thank you for the great review! We're so happy you enjoyed your stay.
This was a great cabin to getaway to for a long weekend! It is pretty remote, but the wi-fi worked great for any connection needs. Beautiful backyard view and front porch, nice kitchen and several cozy spaces to relax in the house as well. We did the 6 mile float at Jeff's Canoe Rental nearby and would definitely recommend you do that during your stay. Johnson Shut-Ins, Elephant Rocks and Taum Sauk Mountain State Park are also not too far away so plenty to do if you like exploring. Overall had a great experience and feeling lucky to have found this cabin near the Black River!

Thank you for the kind words Brittany. We're happy you enjoyed your stay!
We had a family trip with 8 adults and 7 kids, ages from 2 to 16. It was a perfect trip. The cabin had everything you would need for cooking indoors or outside. The kids had a great time playing outside and inside with board games and a huge selection of movies. The adults had a great time catching up together, around the fire and around the dinner table. Loved the decor and the cozy places to sit around in every corner of the cabin. The porch in front with coffee was so nice, listening to the birds in the morning. The back porch had lovely lighting around and we all had a great time sitting outside together. Highly recommend!! We can’t wait to visit again.
The property is roomy and has plenty of room for a larger group. The fireside pavilion was also really nice. We liked the proximity to the river. However, it's in a bit of disrepair. The air conditioner did not work when we arrived and after my husband fixed it, it still struggled to cool below 78 degrees throughout our stay. The hot water heater could only handle one shower before running out of warm water. The main bathroom toilet could only flush on its own about once every couple of hours. If you needed to use if before then, you had to manually fill the tank. The front deck smelled of wet dog as did the inside of the house when we arrived and it was 88 degrees in the house.

Being a fairly new vacation rental, we’re glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your feedback. We go out of our way to insure everything is clean and maintained for your enjoyment. With the 100+ degree temperatures during your stay the AC had a tough time keeping up. The HVAC technician we sent out immediately changed the filter and the AC was able to catch up some the following day. The toilet tank flapper was adjusted to allow the tank to fill and the hot water heater was reset to accommodate longer showers. We hope your substantial refund helped to compensate for your inconvenience.

I hate leaving negative reviews, but...
We arrive to a good-looking cabin in a beautiful location. The check-in instructions were clear and delivered rapidly. It was easy to get inside. We did enjoy sitting on the porch and watching the wildlife.
Unfortunately, the problems started soon after. We discovered old, rotting bacon in the microwave. We tried to use the satellite TV service. It did not work, saying all channels were unavailable. We then decided to try the jetted tub. Started putting water in and realized it was not draining. Pulled the drain out and cleaned out two large clumps of someone's hair. That got it to drain, so I cleaned it and tried filling it again. On top of the water coming in, it also had lots of black floating material which appeared to be mold. Skipped the tub. Played a round of yahtzee and called it a night. We slept in and, when we woke in the late morning on my wife's birthday, we went to town to try to get her a cake. Upon our return, we discovered two roaches on the kitchen floor. It's pretty clear that cleaning is not a priority here.
At this point, we'd had enough and decided to pack up and leave. It was 1pm, a couple hours after the 11am check-out time, when we messaged the host to tell him we were leaving and why. I expected some sort of reasonable response and maybe a partial refund offer since we were only 2 hours past check-out, but only got a "I'll inspect the cabin. Sorry for the inconvenience" and "I'll let the cleaners know." First bad VRBO experience. One ruined b-day.
We spent the weekend at this lovely cabin. It was the perfect place to get away. The cabin was wonderful. It had all the amenities. I recommend stocking up on groceries on the way there so that once you unpack, you can just relax and enjoy sitting on the porch enjoying the view. The hosts had board games that the kids and I enjoyed playing. There are plenty of movies, books, and magazines to enjoy while you relax. We will definitely be back.
