Because the building, built in 1687, was very dilapidated, it was almost demolished. But the Metz family from Heidelberg, who is located in the art trade, recognized the decayed beauty of the property, bought it and saved it from demolition. The historic buildings have been carefully renovated and restored with great attention to detail and are now listed buildings. The property was last renovated again in 2017 and leaves nothing to be desired in terms of modern living comfort.
