This house was wonderful! I recently got married there on April 7th and I was able to host my entire wedding party comfortably, I was able to utilize the back yard area for a tent for seating, plus use the sunroom/ front area for our reception and ceremony! I highly recommend staying here if it’s for your wedding or just a vacation! The host is very communicative and was even wonderful about sending me some recommendations as well! We did bring our dog with us and he was very comfortable and felt right at home!

The venue was wonderful location to host our 25th anniversary party. We had 35 guests for a party and it went very well. Would highly recommend for large or multifamily gathering. Although only six guest spent the night all of us had well appointed rooms. They also have exceptional towels, linens, and toiletry products. Very comfortable beds!

Candler stay

Enjoyed our recent stay with my family. Plenty of space to spread out. Beautiful setting. Overall very happy with the house (which was actually two houses combined by a bridgeway). One side was a bit older but had everything we needed.

I recently stayed at this fantastic VRBO home and was thoroughly impressed! The property was spotlessly clean and had plenty of spacious bedrooms, allowing our group to enjoy both privacy and togetherness. Each room was beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable with great linens! Both kitchens were fully equipped, and the outdoor space (beautiful waterfall!) was a lovely spot to relax. The location was perfect—close to downtown Asheville yet peaceful. The owners do allow pets which was fantastic, but they ask that you make sure to clean up after them.Overall, this home(s) exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend it for any large family/group wanting a luxury getaway to see Asheville. Thank you!

Father's Funeral

We came into town for our father's funeral and this place was perfect for us. We have a large family and it was nice to have a place we could all relax, remember our father, and spend time together. Aaron was great when we had a couple small issues and we got them taken care of quickly. Beautiful area and everything was very close. Would highly recommend!

Great spot for a family get together!

The property had plenty of room to spread out! We are a cooking family and the two kitchens were perfect! Everyone enjoyed their rooms. Just know that the lake is private, so it can’t be used only enjoyed from the beautiful views on the property. Beautiful yard and fire pit! A really fun time!

Great location!

We loved the house and property! It is a 1920s home so there are some musty areas and no central AC. It was hot when we visited, but once we got all the ACs turned on it was great! The property is on the Biltmore Trails which are beautiful, but private property…The house is like a maze and has lots of potential! The beds are all great, I would not plan on using the Queen room in the summer (it is in the attic and hot!!!) Overall this is a great set up for a large crew or multiple families! The 4 Q bunk room is great for kids! Not luxurious but a lot better than a hotel!!

Funeral

We were in town for my mothers funeral and wanted all the siblings and spouses under one roof. This was the perfect house, not just because it was close to where we needed to be, but because it was worry free. It had EVERYTHING we needed and more..

Perfect for a Party!

This house is perfect for a large celebration! We had 18 adults. All had comfortable spots to sleep. And the common area had plenty of couch space for all to gather. We loved the firepit in the evenings. We found the owners/operators extremely responsive and flexible. Thanks for a special place to hold our celebration!

Lake side home for a large group

This house worked great for our extended family gathering. It was clean and there was plenty of room for us to gather all together. Two kitchens was a real plus with all the people we had to feed! We all really enjoyed being able to walk around the lake - it’s a beautiful path for a morning walk. One note of caution - unless the owner has changed it already - the number of beds was not accurate in the details of the rooms. There were also several items in the house that needed attention (thermostats did not control the air conditioner in the back house, dishwasher was not attached to the counter in the front house, kitchen faucet in the back house leaked so badly we had to turn the water off under the sink, and finally - this seems trivial, but there weren’t any waste baskets in some of the bathrooms)

Susan, I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay. I looked over our listing details but can't find a discrepancy with the beds. Do you recall what it was? We'd love to host you again. All new heating and AC system is getting installed January. We'll have individual controls for each room in the 1929 built house and a new central system in the newer wing. Waste baskets should be in each bathroom. I'll chat with our cleaning manager about that. Like a hotel, we like to have at least one per bathroom if not one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. Oh! And a brand new Moen kitchen faucet was installed immediately. I really appreciate that you took time to let us know about the comfort items and that you enjoyed your stay : )

Massive House close to Asheville but no lake

First all of the good. Great communication and check in process. It’s a really big space with essentially two houses connected by an elevated breezeway. Plenty of parking and outdoor space. Next the not as good. First you can tell we followed a very big group and the cleaners (who are great) weren’t able to get everything cleaned between 10am and 6pm. The coffee pots were not cleaned, the floors in some rooms were sticky and there was some garbage left behind. We had 16 towels and wash rags however, the space holds up to 22 people. We ended up with 17 so not enough towels and my expectation would be that there would be at least two towels per person for a week long stay. Lastly the listing is promoted as a lake house, it is across the street from a lake however, guest do not have access to the lake or any of the amenities which was the most frustrating part of the stay. I booked this home so my family could use the beautiful lake beach and kayaks and trails etc. however, you have to have a permit to use the lake and we were asked for our permit which I did not know we needed nor was mentioned in the listing. It was embarrassing that we had to leave the lake and I contacted the owner to see where I could purchase to get permits. I was told we could not get them and they are not available to guests. This was extremely disappointing to say the least. This listing should remove all mentions of a lake or call out clearly that guests do not have access of the lake.

Response from VrboOwner on 7 Oct, 2024
Hi, Milo. Thank you for staying with us. I'm very sorry for any misunderstanding regarding the lake access. The lake, similar to most lakes in the immediate downtown Asheville area, is privately owned. It is not available for swimming or boating. We've tried to fight for our guests to have access to the lake but it is not an easy battle. Biltmore Lake is the name of the community/town. The lake itself is called Enka Lake. If you're looking to stay in the Asheville vicinity the primary water attraction is the French Broad River or many local natural slides and swimming spots. We're located just a few minutes from Zen Tubing, which is a great way to spend some time on the water! I have corrected the issue with the bath linen. Our minimum is 33 sets of bath towel, hand towel, and wash cloth for all stays. If a guest arrives to find anything less than perfect I encourage them to reach out right away. Anything less than an amazing stay is not okay in our book. We want to make sure we have an opportunity to spring into action should we be given the opportunity. I appreciate the time you took to write your review, it is helpful information for us and future guests. All My Best Milo! Aaron
