Charming Cottage in the Woods, convenient location
Had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Had a great time exploring local restaurants in Uniontown while enjoying daytime adventures at Ohiopyle State Park and Falling Water. The property was cute, clean and comfortable. Linda was prompt in providing information and responding.
Conveniently located to all of our plans for week plus found some great local restaurants, winery and distillery. Quiet wooded neighborhood. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch after our days activities to enjoy the night air. The home is comfortable and inviting inside as well.
This is our 3rd time staying at this location. Very cozy and clean. Nice amenities for a comfortable experience. Beautiful front porch to relax and enjoy the nature and surroundings. We will return again!

The property was wonderful. The quality and decor of the inside is exceptional. I had been looking for a place for both of us that was centrally located to Ohiopyle and it was perfect.
The close proximity to the highway has its pros and cons but it was quiet at night.
We had a wonderful stay! House was clean, nicely decorated, and easy to check in and check out. We went to Ohiopyle for hiking, ate great food and then came back to the house for movies. It was the perfect weekend. Thank you so much.
We ate dinner on the front porch and it was so nice. Had squirrel and turkey in the backyard and an owl at night. The place was super clean and even had a Kitchenaid mixer in the kitchen. Would definitely stay again.
My wife and I stayed here for the weekend for a late anniversary trip. Linda was very accommodating and left us check in early after a long day at the park. The decor and furnishing are all up to date. The place was very clean and had everything you need for a short or extended stay. We enjoyed the fire pit outside, which had plenty of firewood for the stay. Will definitely look this place up again when we are in the area the next time.
Laurel Retreat was a wonderful place to stay. Linda was an excellent communicator. The house was extremely clean. The wi-fi was strong, I had several devices connected without any problems. The house was very comfortable and beautifully appointed. The location is perfectly located for access to Ohiopyle and the Frank Lloyd Wright properties. I would recommend this location.
I've stayed at a lot of properties and this one ranks as one of the very best, for lots of reasons. It was sparkling clean, there was lots of room (the whole house!), the bed was comfortable, the towels were high quality and there were plenty of dishes, silverware, etc.
Our contact person was always easy to communicate with, and was very welcoming. She put a lot of thought into the information book which had area restaurants and attractions.
I would definitely stay there again.
The house was cean and loaded with all your extras that you forget to bring with you!

Loved everything. The hot water smelled a bit stinky but its well water and the water tank was probably off for a little while...was watching Netflix also and all of a sudden it stopped working and Netflix and Hulu both were prompting us to log back in. Which was fine...it was nice hanging out on the porch playing the mancala game. Adorable home for visiting Ohiopyle. Definitely recommend!
We had a great stay. Close to everything. Fallow directions given to the cabin, esp in the dark (the yellow house does not look yellow in the dark)! Cabin is very clean and has everything you need to cook meals. Above and beyond. If you are going to want to make coffe, check about filters.
Spent two nights for a hiking trip in Ohiopyle State Park. Linda was very responsive and helpful during our stay…follow her directions to get to the house, not Google maps. Home is homey in decor and there are many helpful supplies in the kitchen. House was an easy trip to Ohiopyle and Fallingwater. It seemed we were the first folks to stay in the home in a little while so there was a bit of a musty feel to the place, but after getting things opened and then the heat on in the evening that seemed to settle out. Would stay here again.
We had a wonderful time while in the Hopwood area. House was used as our base for trips to Ohiopyle for hiking as well as biking the GAP trail. Also, a couple trips into Morgantown to see one of our daughters.
The house was perfect for our needs. Just my husband and myself, so no need for lots of space. Everything we needed was available and the ease of getting to the house from the highway was easy. Didn’t spend much time in the area where the house is located so can’t speak to that.
Thank you again
Cozy, but water smelled/tasted of sulfur; hard to park
Cozy and comfortable except for very strong sulfur taste/smell in water (including shower). (We wound up buying drinking water to brush teeth and make coffee.) Lovely setting but a bit hard to find and it would be very hard in the dark and we really had to manuever the car to pull in and to be able to turn around to be ready to leave.
The little cottage had everything that we needed to get a little escape from reality. The drive to Laurel Caverns was less than 15mine, and the ease of access to Ohiopyle, and Kentuck Knob was a relief for a bustling holiday weekend. The listing photos portrayed the cottage as more isolated than it was, so we were a little surprised to be in a neighborhood but the neighbors were quiet. It is also close to the highway, so we could hear the traffic while sitting outside. Even so, we spent our mornings and evenings on the beautiful front porch and enjoyed ourselves. All in all we had a wonderful weekend and experience. Highly recommend staying here for a relaxing trip with options to go on long hikes or day excursions to busier areas.
