I've gotta say - while the photos of the cabin are indeed great, they do a fraction of justice for the property. We've been going to Lake Don Pedro (about 20 minutes north) for years and have never come across this area dotted with almond groves. The property itself is dreamy. Our kids were delighted to walk right up to the host's goats, lambs, and cows. (So were us grown-ups!) The cabin was the perfect backdrop for our lake weekend and we really appreciated the family-friendly bedroom space upstairs where a family of 4 could easily bunk up, kids on one side and parents on the other. Everyone enjoyed the stay so much! Thanks, again, to our wonderful hosts who made us feel right at home.
Wanted a different birthday getaway for my husband. This place checked all the boxes. A log cabin house on a knoll in the middle of the California farm belt. Cows mooing in the morning and brilliant sunset in the evening. 360 degree views of farms, mountains and lakes. Close to fishing (we did-Modesto Reservoir), Yosemite (we did) and gold country (we did). My only suggestion to make this perfect would be handrails for the front door steps and to reassess the high cleaning fee. Loved it, a definite do over!
