Amazing house in a great area! 10 minutes to Leland and Sutton’s Bay which was great. Had all of the amenities you could need and more. We will stay here again!
Cute little cottage in a great location. You could tell the owners put a lot of thought into making the place comfortable and accommodating for guests. We had a great stay!
Check in was super easy! The hosts were great to work with. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need and very clean. The place was perfect for a girls weekend, especially with the separate bunk beds. The dock was perfect and yard was very well kept. Super close to wineries and other fun things!
It was such a perfect place for our spring break. The decor is lovely and the cottage was a wonderful, easy place to stay with young kids. Hosts were attentive and easy to communicate with. We will be back!
The cottage was perfect for our vacation. The lake offered swimming and fishing right outside our door! The area was great for wine tastings. I would recommend this little cottage to anyone looking for a laid back vacation!
We loved our stay at the Story Cottage! We appreciated all the attention to details like plenty of storage in bed and bathrooms and power strips for charging phones etc. Kitchen well furnished with everything we could need. We enjoyed one of the most beautiful sunsets we had ever seen one evening! It’s a lovely, quiet place and convenient to Sleeping Bear Dunes.
The cottage was perfect for us. Just the right size and stocked with everything we needed. From puzzles/books to extra blankets as well as kitchen utensils -- this place had it all. Location was great -- loved the lake property (and the fire pit) and it was close to restaurants/shops/hiking/scenery. Owner was very responsive and answered our questions right away. We loved it and we'll be back!
The lake house isn’t huge but it’s just right two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a nice size kitchen, and all open the dining area, the living room no TV in the living room only TVs in the bedrooms but when you’ve got like to look at why did you need a TV?
We normally visit this area of MI in the summer. I was recovering from hip surgery and thought it would be nice to spend mid September here and this property did not disappoint. Perfect size for 2-4 people. Great Lake access, clean and well stocked with anything you would need, comfy beds and a fantastic yard. We ended up being able to go up one day early and the owners did something for us totally unexpected when we inquired about this.
5 stars top to bottom
We had a wonderful stay at story cottage. My children (3 and 1) loved the bunk bed room and had lots of fun playing w the legos. The yard and beach were perfect for a young family. I loved the dark bedrooms (great when you need to put a baby’s down to sleep at 7:30 when the sun is still out). Also, laundry room is clean and large enough for pack and play. House was quiet enough that my husband and I could enjoy our evening together once the children went to bed. Awesome location just minutes to great restaurants, sleeping bear dunes, Leland and vineyards. We were sad to leave but have great memories and hope to be back soon.
We had a smaller group of 3 for most the week with a couple more visiting for a few days for a total of 5 and the house was incredibly comfortable. The large bunk beds were a huge hit with our kiddo. All of the beds were also very comfortable. The water looks a little shallow, but we rented a pontoon for the day and docked at the house just fine. Very close to everything we wanted to visit including great restaurants and a little grocery store 5 minutes away. The kitchen is absolutely packed with everything you might need. We have rented lake houses a half dozen times or so and the laundry machine was so nice to have throughout the week. We will be getting on the early email list with the owners to book a week for next summer! Thanks for everything.
