Summary:
Underscoring Savannah’s rich history, Liberty Garden is your traditional Savannah garden apartment. Featuring 1 bedroom with a king bed, and 1 bathroom, this first-floor apartment provides all the elegant touches that will transport you into Savannah’s colonial past. Boasting a shared garden patio with seating and a firepit you will experience Savannah like a long-time local, taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the vibrant downtown filled with stories of the past.
The Space:
Tucked in the lower level of a historic townhome built in 1868 for John Hernandez, the garden apartment features its own private entrance and all the amenities you need for a comfortable and tasteful stay in Savannah.
Enter below the main townhome staircase and step into the small, yet spacious apartment. Walk through the foyer to a comfortable living space featuring an original masonry fireplace, custom built-ins, and original hardwood floors. We have a new pull-out couch for 2 as well. Just off the living space, find a small den with a designated workspace, along with high-speed Wi-Fi this apartment is perfect for the remote worker.
Continuing off the back of the living area, enter the private bedroom through original French doors where you will find a brand-new king mattress with comfortable linens and pillows. Historic colonial dressers and end tables provide ample storage, perfect for longer stays.
At the back of the apartment enjoy a modernized kitchen with a full 30-inch range, along with granite countertops and a stainless-steel refrigerator. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to cook during your stay, including cooking utensils, pots, pans, and dishware. The kitchen comes with small appliances such as a microwave and coffee maker.
Directly off the kitchen, you have access to the fully enclosed garden patio. Featuring beautiful natural foliage, washed brick planters, and high walls, this private patio space is perfect for enjoying Savannah nights. Although a shared space with the unit above, this large patio provides ample room to spread out and enjoy the fresh air. From the patio, a rear exit door provides access to off-street parking and a Tesla charging station.

The Neighborhood:

History abounds with sites like Harper Fowlkes House, Savannah Theatre, Telfair Museums, Beach Institute of African American Culture, and many more.

Getting Around:
There is a FREE shuttle that picks up just 2 blocks away at Drayton St. and Perry St.. This will take you up and down the Historic District and can drop you off at City Market. Otherwise we recommend using Uber/Lyft as parking around town can be pretty chaotic and is usually less than $5 to get anywhere. There is also a free City "uber" called The Downtowner. You can download the app on your phone and get picked up for free as well :)
