Very comfortable stay for our family of four. Our kids enjoyed walking on the property and our dog enjoyed the fenced in area. Would definitely stay here again.
Had a great time at the cabin getting away from the city. Caught some bass at a pond nearby and enjoyed every bit of it. Hosts were responsive and great! Thank you! Highly recommend!
Great escape from the city, conveniently location near Colorado Bend state park. Cabin was clean, check-in was easy all in all a great stay, highly recommended.
Driving up, with the lights around the cabin, made us feel warm and welcomed. If the weather was better it would have been so fun to sit at the fire pit. The rockers on the porch also looked very fun, if the weather cooperated. We loved our stay!!
We loved this place. It was exactly as described. It was very clean, and we were able to occupy it early. We loved being able to take our dog. We would stay here again.
Brain was very responsive to our messages! He made sure we had wood, coal and lighter fluid for the outside cooking area. The cabin was very cute and perfect for my husband, 5 year old and I. The property is beautiful and makes for a great morning walk. If ever in the area, we would definitely stay again!
Our family of 4 stayed here after hiking at Colorado Bend State Park and this little place worked out well for what we needed. There is no stove inside but we grilled hotdogs on the little grill in the fire pit outside with the provided firewood and enjoyed a campfire as well. We would go back again.
The cute cabin is just a short drive away from Colorado’ bend state park- allowing you to feel like you’re out camping without the hassle of setting up site. The yard is fenced which is perfect for pets. The property is allows you to get a nice morning walk in. The host was super kind- helped us start a fire, ensured we had everhtbing we needed.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The bed was very comfortable, it was very clean and decorated so cute, we really enjoyed our stay here, the cabin is in the backyard of the owner's house, we love communicating with people and are very friendly but the owners gave us our privacy, we had the place all to ourselves, we enjoyed the fire pit, there was plenty of wood for us, beautiful lights out in the back, Brian and his family really did a great job with this place, I tell you one thing if we ever come back to Colorado bend State Park we plan on staying here again!!!👍💯
Convenient for visiting family living in Lampasas.
Pros:
close to everything we needed,
great yard for our dog,
great communication with owners,
cute,
good airconditioner
Cons:
I’m too old and fat to get on the bed easily. Would have liked a stool.
There is just a shower curtain separating the toilet from the living space. I was just with my daughter so it was ok but I wouldn’t have liked it had I been with any other family member.
It’s pretty tiny so plan accordingly.
Overall, great though.
Great place for an individual, couple or family with kids. The shower and toilet are behind a shower curtain, so this should be taken into consideration. Not a problem for me and my dogs. The yard is quite secure for dogs. The bed was big and comfy. I didn't expect a TV, but there was a giant one at the foot of the bed with a DVD player. They had a few DVD's to choose from, or bring your own. I was also very happily surprised by a bag of ice in the freezer, as I hadn't brought any and thought I'd have to go get some! I was content to stay at the cabin, but there are places to explore around Lampasas and shops in town. Overall, I was quite content and had no problems.
I'm on the road at least 40 nights per year and I can truthfully say that Brian and Deserae are among the very best hosts that I have encountered. In addition, the property was clean and well located for our purposes. We were made to feel like family and I especially enjoyed their cat, Tigger and their puppy Ranger. We had a campfire one night and Brian provided wood and starter fluid. Colorado Bend State Park is only 30 minutes away so this is one of the closest non-camping options. All in all, highly recommended. That said, be aware that the cabin is not out in the country as it appears in the picture and is very close to the main residence. This did not cause any problems as Brian and his wife were very respectful of our privacy. I very glad we stayed here.
I had extra family in town and rented the cabin as an extra room. It is cozy, nicely finished, with a comfortable queen bed, and also has a double mattress in a loft with a low ceiling if you need more space. It was over 100 degrees every day we rented, but once the cabin got cooled off the AC held its own. As the pictures show, it is a one bedroom studio type unit. The bathroom is separated by a shower curtain, which works great for the space. There is a round table and four chairs, some movies and I think games, but certainly space to play games, and a microwave. The cabin is located near the owner’s home on the property. There is a porch with two chairs, and the cabin faces west, so would have nice sunset views - if it was not 100 degrees in the shade. There is additional acreage to explore in a pasture behind the cabin, but we did not have time to explore. We did see a mother cat and two kittens and a rooster, as well as some deer. It is not really remote, as it is in town, if you are wsnting a rural setting, but it served our purpose well as an additional room for more family, as it was just minutes from our home.
My daughter and I were excited to stay in a cabin, and with space to roam.
Pros:
Check-in was super easy.
Plenty of firewood.
Garden fresh tomato awaited our arrival
Cons:
The image on the listing is misleading. What is directly behind the cabin is another property. The cabin itself is in the back yard of another home, on a 1/4 to 1/2 acre spot. We felt as though we could not really do much, even cooking over the fire, for we were steps from the back door of someone's home.
Enter the cats. Cute little ones, truly. However, they hang out under the cabin, and use that space as a litter box. The first morning we were at the cabin, my cat allergies sent us into town, searching for a remedy. We nearly had to pack up and leave.
Upon entering the cabin, the smell of an air freshener was overpowering. About an hour after unplugging the air freshener, the smell of animal waste became apparent.
The place had not been swept out prior to our arrival, and there was dirt and cat hair on the rug, floor, pillows.
We will not stay there again. Owners seem pleasant, but the misleading information on the listing, compiled with the cat issues, and hanging out in someone's backyard ... will keep us hunting for another place to stay.
Please mention matters of proximity to the main house, and animal matters, on the listing.
