About this property
GLAMPING IN THE SMOKIES--PRIVATE 5 acres--LAKE ACCESS....See you in April 2026.
Closed for Winter ☃️---CAMP WHITETAIL is a one-of-a-kind amazing glamping experience! It is a 2 bedroom, 330 sq ft tree-tent that is superbly COZY, nestled on a private 5-acre wooded site! It is camping with modern conveniences and without having to pack up the house.
Inside you will find a comfy custom-made Queen bed and Twin bunk beds, custom made table for two, a kitchen with running water and a propane stove, stocked with the basic necessities. (Note; if the weather is going to drop below freezing at night water will not be turned on during spring or late fall due to pipes and water heater freezing up.)All you'll need to bring is your food and a cooler. The outside covered porch/deck has chairs to take in the peaceful views while sipping coffee in the mornings or just enjoy a quiet evening under the stars. An enclosed outdoor bathroom is just right outside the tent, with hot shower and a toilet loo. The logs by the fire pit, with plenty of firewood, invite you to sit and tell campfire stories and roast marshmallows while creating new memories. The trail then leads to the water, where you can enjoy a trip on the canoe and paddle board (provided for you), lay in the hammock or fish in the clear waters of Douglas Lake.
You can cook in the tent on the gas stove, the outdoor grill or cook on the open fire in the fire pit, sit by the handmade camp logs and enjoy your meal at the fireside.
The red path from the parking area and between the tree-tent and the bathhouse is well lit all the way with solar lights, you can also turn on the porch lights and light up the woods. There are charging outlets 120V/USB for cell phone/laptops. There are only electric blankets. Check lake levels at Douglas Lake water levels as the lake are lowered during the winter starting in September to about March. http://www.douglaslake.info/Level/
This glamping experience will be an unforgettable one for years to come.
Come and enjoy the great outdoors!

Second time staying here. It is an absolutely great place out in the quiet of the woods. The canpsite is also close enough to town if you need to run out quick to the grocery store.
Wonderful hosts that communicate well and are so kind and helpful. Beautiful tent and area. The shower is awesome. Peaceful and lots of extras like a grill and camping chairs. A few minutes from town. Right on the lake for fishing.
Beautiful and relaxing. The shower is my favorite! Quite and secluded but close enough to town. Owners are so helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to go back!
We didn’t get any view. The trail to the lake crosses in front of a cabin. Wasn’t sure if it was occupied so we turned around and headed back as to not disturb anyone else’s experience. Overall the property was amazing. Adrian( the host) was amazing to deal with. We will definitely be back.
This is a magnificent hide away. The tent is tucked away in a clearing making you feel like you're the only ones out there. Having lake access is an extremely nice perk for the summer months, the host has even provided a paddle board and canoe. To top it off the tent has running water and electricity.
Get away weekend….it was a nice place to get away that wasn’t far from home. This is a great get away for two or small family. Short walk to the lake and overall you feel secluded.
Our first experience with Glamping & we were more than satisfied with the experience! Only wish we’d booked a longer stay and got to enjoy more of the camp site but we stayed out on the town shopping more than in and didn’t get to take advantage of everything the camp had to offer! Will definitely be staying again!
My family and i stayed a week at the cabin. We wanted a vacation away from social media and electronics and this was the perfect place for it. Made a bunch of memories and played a bunch of games. We will be back when it is not so hot. The cabin had everything we needed, fans were provided and used very often, haha. The fireflies were amazing and the lake was amazing.
Our family returned for our second time during fall break and had an incredible experience. Hands down this is my favorite VRBO property that I have stayed at. The owner is very responsive and the property is so comfortable and relaxing. We will be back again.
