The cabin was fantastic, the lakes was beautiful. Our family had a great time swimming, kayaking and fishing. I would love to return on my next vacation.

So glad you enjoyed our property and the lake; the neighbor spoke highly of you and your family. You are welcome back anytime!
This is a solid lake house property for families. The house was clean with everything you need for your stay. The property was great with a big lawn leading up to the water and (as mentioned in the listing) a nice little sandy beach area. The water was very clear and shallow fairly far out. If your goal is to be in the water this is perfect.
We stayed the week of the 4th and if you do, you’re in luck. There was a boat parade in the early evening and the neighbors two doors down put in a huge firework show. There are several eagles that live on the lake and we had a number of close flybys from them including on the 4th. It was like someone curated our own 4th of July party for us.
Fishing was non existent off the dock so if that’s your game you will need a boat or take the kayaks out deeper. Other than that, good host communication and a good overall experience.

Thank you kindly, John! So glad you enjoyed our place as much as we do, and that your experience was top notch! We also greatly appreciated your communications.
We really enjoyed our weeklong summer vacation at this wonderful property. The cottage was as described, but felt more spacious than what the photos depicted. It was very comfortable for our multi-family group, with lots of sleeping spaces and bathrooms. The area is a bit remote, but we enjoy that rustic feeling, and being able to relax and recharge in the natural setting. We made a few quick trips into nearby Alpena for dining, supplies and a lovely walk along the harbor front. Beaver Lake is clean, clear and deep with minimal boat traffic, great for fishing, tubing and water skiing. The property owners were responsive and easy to work with, and the neighbors on either side of the property were friendly. Since we were there on the 4th of July holiday, we were able to participate in the boat parade around the lake, and enjoyed an amazing free fireworks display put on by the neighbors 2 doors down. We brought our own boat, but since the dock is in shallow water, it was a bit tricky tying up without the lower unit bumping into the soft lake bottom (albeit soft). Luckily we had good weather and the lake stayed calm, so no issues, but you wouldn't want to be tied up there in a storm if your boat draws deep. Beware the free boat launch - our trailer got stuck on the broken concrete. The cottage could use more bath towels, but everything else was extremely well stocked! Overall I could not have been happier with this rental, will certainly return again, and highly recommend.
We loved our stay on Beaver Lake. It was a wonderful family vacation. Some highlights:
- The new beach was great. But the kids really enjoyed playing in the shallows alongside the dock. The water stays shallow a long way out, which was nice with young kids.
- The fishing was great. It's not an easy lake to fish, but we did OK.
- The lake was great. We boated all over the lake, swam, fished and enjoyed the wildlife and scenery. There was some boat traffic, but nothing too crazy. The county park ramp is so-so. Take a friend if you want to launch. There was also enough room to park the boat and two vehicles at the house, and backing in the boat was easy. A nice bonus.
- The house was great. We had so much room to spread out. The kitchen was well-stocked. Bathrooms were clean (the kids liked the big tub with jets). The back porches were perfect for breakfast, coffee and hanging out.
- The yard was great. We played outside all day, every day. Even the neighbors came by. What a friendly community!
- The location was great. There's not a lot around, but that's what we really wanted. And Alpena is only 30 minutes away. We made a couple trips there, too.
- The "extras" were great. We had kayaks, a stand-up paddle board, good internet, a screened-in porch ... lots of extras that we didn't need, but sure enjoyed.
Overall, we loved it. This was our third annual Michigan lake house vacation, and it might have been the best. We like to move around each year, but we just might come back!
Beautiful right on the lake property with plenty of room inside and outside to relax. A very cozy and comfortable cabin to accommodate our family of four. A great deck overlooking the lake where we had our morning coffee. The place is very well equipped with everything we needed to make our meals and make our stay enjoyable. Our family very much so enjoyed the beautiful grounds, we all had fun swimming, playing, and fishing in the clear lake with a nice sandy bottom. Bone fires and stargazing concluded our days each evening. We had a wonderful time on the lake and can not wait to come back. We strongly recommend this property.
