About this property

Zen Cottage with Ocean Views

Tranquility awaits in this peaceful, Zen-like cottage centrally located near the Village of Del Mar. Enjoy ocean views, firepit, outdoor dining and grilling on the raised patio. A truly indoor/outdoor lifestyle with the fully retractable patio doors. Stylishly furnished with an Indonesian vibe!



You are renting the main house and will have exclusive use of the patios for this space (raised view patio, fire pit, bbq, magnolia courtyard, back meditation spot). The house is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath cottage. Master bedroom encompasses the 2nd floor, guest room is on the first floor. If you are traveling with infant/toddlers, there plenty of room to set up a pack-n-play in the master bedroom. Also, if you are traveling with another couple, we can make the downstairs beds into a king (please ask in advance).



This is a shared property. There may or may not be guests staying in Mindful Guest Cottage located in the rear of the property. Mindful is completely separate building from Zen Cottage. Entrance is in the alleyway and they do not have access to your property. You have almost no interaction or relationship to the guest suite. The only shared space is the garage, where the beach equipment and trash are stored.



Main house, front patio, front courtyard, bbq, firepit and parking in front of the cottage. These areas are for your exclusive use.

Garage space is shared and used only for beach equipment and trash (no cars)



Located within walking distance to shops, restaurant and the beach - all within 1/2 mile



You can walk to the Village for dining and shopping - it`s just over 1/2 mile. Beach also is 6/10ths of a mile. Most San Diego attractions require a car.



If you are traveling with 6 guests, please note: We sleep 4 in beds. We have an air mattress that can sleep 1 (or 2) and the sofa can sleep 1 (it does not pull out).

Both the front and rear units can be rented together. Please ask for dates, rates, availability.



VRBO bookings are not eligable for the credit card processing fee to be refunded if reservation is cancelled (this includes reservations within the cancellation period).

Wonderfully furnished and located vacation villa! This property is absolutely stunning. Located just three houses from the ocean it provides a nice quiet escape with very nice ocean views from the outdoor areas and several rooms. The home is so nicely furnished it feels like you are staying in a friends well cared for home. Easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants. We’ll be back!

The Zen Cottage was the perfect place for my husband and I. The location was great and we enjoyed the ocean views. We loved sitting on the patio and watching all the hummingbirds feed among the flowers. The space is beautifully decorated and has all the bells and whistles. What a great place to stay. The house is on a very quiet street and is very relaxing. The patio area is amazing and a nice place to entertain and enjoy being outside. There is access to the trails to get to the beach, but getting to the beach is a short walk away. The town is an easy 5 minute walk away too which was very nice. The house was very well appointed with supplies and also had beach chairs, etc.We had an amazing time and will definitely come back!

The Zen Cottage in Del Mar is even better in person than the pictures. It’s spacious and airy. All the amenities in Kitchen and Bathrooms. We enjoyed having our morning coffee ☕️ sitting around the fire pit. Easy walking to the beach and neighborhood restaurants and shops. We will definitely stay here again

Beautiful Home and Location

We enjoyed our stay! Such a beautiful property and we loved spending our days and evenings on the outdoor patio with ocean views. Great location and the house was set up with everything we needed during our stay. Google Maps takes you to the back alley rather than the front parking location so we had some confusion there but the host helped us out right away. I wouldn’t say it was the _best_ property for young toddlers (glass tables, lots of small decor, ledges on patio) but we figured it out just fine and would love to visit again!
