Lakeside, is one of the Cabins At Lake Desolation,fully equipped, cozy, comfortable cabin. Located just 12 miles from the NY Thruway, Saratoga Springs, Racetrack, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, etc. Very gradual entrance into the lake. Private dock. Canoes/2 person kayaks included.

Excellent restaurant (Tinneys) located within easy walking distance. Parking is limited, 2 car max.

What a gem! We were here for a very quick stay, and loved the cottage and location. Beautiful sunsets, kid friendly beach, very clean, dog friendly, comfortable living area inside and on the deck, and a delicious little restaurant right at the lake! We hope to return again someday.

Amazing stay!

We had such a great week at Ava's Lakeside Cottage. The lake was so calm and clean, perfect for swimming, fishing and kayaking. My daughter enjoyed catching multiple salamanders daily also. The house was very cozy and very well kept. We definitely be returning in the future.

Stayed a couple of days to relax and paddle on the lake. Loved being right on the water with effortless access to kayaks and equipment. Incredible lake view from inside the super comfortable cozy house. Walked to neighborhood pub, easy drive to Saratoga. I’ll be back!

Quiet Lakehouse

Cute cottage on the Lake with beautiful views. We enjoyed our stay. Quests should plan or be aware restaurants nearby not open Monday and Tuesday so plan accordingly. Also plumbing so sensitive there is a porta potty on the property.

Tranquility

Enjoyed the peace & quiet of the area. The cabin sits at the top of a mountain overlooking a lake. Keep in mind after turning off "Main St " the house is on a single lane non paved road. If another vehicle approaches some one will need to back up. A big plus is the bar/restaurant (with great inexpensive food ) walking distance from the dwelling. Owners were very responsive.

A great getaway!

Our group had a really lovely time staying on the lake. The view, the ability to take a boat out in the morning, and a dip in the afternoon... a delight! It's a little more rustic indoors, so be prepared to bring things like olive oil, or pepper, if you're planning on cooking. And linens aren't included. But beyond that, the VHS collection was very fun, and the grill and fire pit were also a great way to spend the evening. Thank you to Robb for a wonderful long weekend!

Beautiful cottage on the lake. Serene. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Nice size kitchen and livingroom plus an enclosed porch with two comfortable couches that over sea the lake. Had a table to eat or play cards and games. Good for kids and adults. Host was accommodating and give access to rowboats and kayaks which we took advantage of. I loved staying there and plan to be back in the next summer. We loved the fire pit and all the chairs for lounging and table for eating on the patio that overlooks the lake. Resultant "Tinney's" walking distance with great food and prices. I loved the place-the 3 bedrooms and they also have sofa that I believe pull out to beds if you needed. Thanks for a great stay.

Very Disappointed With the Area

The inside of the cabin was nice with a beautiful view of the lake through the wall to wall glass facing the lake. The area around the cabin including the other cabins was messy and not landscaped at all. There were broken cinder blocks and other messy Areas. If you wanted to use a kayak or canoe you Had to go a couple cabins down where they we stored and carry it down to the water. Difficult for older people.you had to be an engineer to get the TV to qoek

Lakeside VS Lakefront

First let me just say I learned the difference a few words can make. I honestly thought Lakeside meant the house was beside a lake but the owner pointed out the difference. Lakefront means the house is basically right on the lake. Be that as it may we had a very nice time at this property. The home was clean and had so many accent pieces it was charming. The owners left very specific driving directions and clear housekeeping instructions. The lake was amazing, but you do have to walk around 5-7 minutes to access it. My only concern was the downstairs bedroom was very cold and I was reluctant to use the heater that was built into the wall because my daughter was sleeping there and I wasn't sure how safe it was. She slept on the couch upstairs. The town of Saratoga is around 20 minutes away and had some nice places to eat. I would recommend this property to families, couples that want to get away, as well as Ladies weekends or guys weekends.

Excellent Stay!

We had a wonderful time at Ava's on Lake Desolation! The cabin has a wonderful location, right on the lake, with the most beautiful view! Our stay was so incredibly relaxing! This was our second time staying at Ava's and it won't be our last!
