About this property

AIYM Camp Riverfront Cabin #2. In the Rio Grande National Forest, Alamosa Canyon

Stay in one of our newly refurbished cabins located in the Rio Grande National Forest, just 4 miles west of Terrace Reservoir in the Alamosa Canyon. 4 individual cabins with 8 built in twin bunk beds and 1 Duplex cabin with 12 built in twin bunk beds. Each cabin is furnished with mattress pads, sheets, blanket, comforter and pillow. There is a bathhouse (includes 4 toilets, 3 sinks and 4 showers), approximately 75 yards from the cabins. The Alamosa River runs through the AIYM Camp property, where the cabins are located. The camp is in a wilderness setting with electricity supplied by a diesel generator that operates from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. No cell service in the canyon but the camp does have a regular phone for special usage and satellite Wi-Fi for $5. The most unique quality is the beauty and cleanliness of the forest. The quiet peaceful atmosphere of the canyon is hard to believe. This is the perfect place for families to unplug, get outside but still have some of the comforts we all enjoy!

Incredible property
We stayed here for 2 nights and have nothing but good things to say. The location is absolutely stunning and there are lots of trails around for hiking/atving/driving. Jim and Melony were so welcoming, it felt like we were coming to visit family. I'm so glad we found this gem, we're already anxiously awaiting our next visit next summer! We came with 5 boys ages 3-11 and they all had so much fun they want to come back twice a year haha. The cabins are comfortable, clean, and secure. The fire pit has ample seating, and Jim and Melony introduced our family to a new type of campfire dessert that's better than smores (and less messy which is great for 5 kids). The bathhouse was clean and well stocked, and not too far away from the cabins. The river flows directly behind the cabins and our group of kiddos could have spent the whole trip there if we would have let them. Our dog was comfortable and happy, and they provided a pooper scooper so we didn't have to use plastic baggies. My husband and youngest son were able to attend their Sunday church service and said between the view and the sermon there were no words to explain how nice it was. I HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away and see some amazing views!
