Enjoy the quiet, scenic beauty of southern CO from the comforts of a lovely cabin w optional private Guest Loft, nestled in the Rio Grande Forest. Thirty minutes to Chama, NM, 1.5 hrs. scenic drive from Taos, NM or Pagosa Springs, CO. One hour from Alamosa, CO.

Fully equipped Cabin w 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, Living area, Kitchen sleeps 6-8. Price listed includes private Guest Loft w King bed in Great Room, kItchen, and small bedroom w full size bed, sleeps 2-4. Contact owner about dates that may be open in Guest Loft and aren’t shown or shorter term rental.

If you enjoy waterfalls, outstanding trout fishing, breath-taking views, hiking or walks, mountain rivers, star lit nights, exploring on an ATV the thousands of acres of National Forest, and escaping the crowds this is the vacation for you. We have private land a short walk 1/2 block away that is river front access for great trout fishing!

Located 1.5 hours from Taos, NM or 30 minutes from Chama, NM the Knox Cabin. All the comforts of home is a beautiful off the beaten path location.

Summer is a wonderful time to be at the cabin. Located at 8800 ft in the spectacular Conejos River Valley in the southern Colorado Rockies we are surrounded by the Rio Grande National Forest and bordered by the San Juan Wilderness giving us endless and varied country to explore and enjoy. Enjoy fishing, hiking, horse back riding or relaxing along a stream- your choice! Our proximity to northern New Mexico means you can combine the splendor of the Rockies with the enchantment of the southwest—many guests spend a night or two in fascinating Santa Fe or Taos on their way.

We had a wonderful family vacation at this rental! There were 9 of us, and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable and easy stay. The kitchen was especially well appointed with all the tools and essentials we needed to cook for a big group. Beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy, especially the outdoor areas. It was the perfect homebase for our family getaway.—highly recommend!

Great spot for a getaway

We loved our time in the loft. Shirley was great and went above and beyond. The views are great and the loft is even better in person. I highly recommend a stay!

Perfect Mountain Getaway!

We had the most wonderful stay at this cabin nestled in the breathtaking San Juan Mountains, just a short 2 min walk from the flowing Conejos river. From the moment we arrived, our hosts Shirley and Bill were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, ensuring everything was just right. The cabin itself was spotless, well maintained, and exactly as described with plenty of seating—no surprises, just comfort and charm. The views were absolutely stunning. Waking up to the mountains each morning was a dream and discovering new wildlife each day was delightful. The surrounding community was equally warm and friendly, adding to the overall sense of peace and belonging. Whether you're looking for a quiet retreat or a base for mountain adventures, this cabin is a gem. We can't recommend it enough.

We escaped the AZ heat and stayed in the loft for 7 nights. The loft was spotless and had everything you could possibly need. Shirley and Bill were fantastic Vrbo hosts, but are also wonderful people. The surrounding area is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. Our dog enjoyed the stay as much as we did-especially the turkey neck from Shirley! :-) Thank you for sharing your property with us. We can't wait to return!

Cabin Loft

This loft is a wonderful rental. My wife and I stayed for 4 nights. The private riverfront land had a hammock and great trout structure for fishing. The loft was spacious, clean and well stocked. There is a lawn with a patio and bbq grill. As others have mentioned, Bill and Shirley are wonderful hosts. We will definitely be returning for another stay if the loft is available.

Beautiful Place and Great Hosts

We had a great time. The loft was well furnished, comfortable with plenty of room, and a full kitchen. Shirley placed fresh cut flowers around the loft which was a very nice touch. The river was was a very short walk away. There is no air or light pollution so the stars at night were amazing. You could see the milky way from horizon to horizon. We have been to all the major parks out west but this was the best place I have ever been to star gaze. Shirley and Bill were great hosts. They answered all our questions, told us about great spots for hiking, and even took us out one evening to there favorite places to watch amazing sunsets. We will defiantly be planning a trip back in the near future.
