Splash of Lime 4x4 Carova Beach Cottage - Private Pool/Hot Tub

Welcome to Splash of Lime Carova!

Escape to our remote beach cottage, reached by 9 miles of sandy shoreline driving after the pavement ends in Corolla. Wild horses roam freely and are often seen near the property. Spend your stay relaxing on the porch with ocean views, strolling the shoreline for treasures, or loading up your gear and driving right to the shore to claim your perfect beach spot.

A 4WD vehicle is required for the trip. The nearest restaurants, shops, and groceries are about 30 minutes away. The scenic beach drive, wildlife sightings, and coastal views make the journey part of the experience.

Where You'll Stay:
Main Level - offers an open concept great room with dining and a fully equipped kitchen. Two bedrooms - one with a king bed and full private bath (walk-in shower) and the other bedroom provides two double beds. There is a full bath in the hallway for guests in the double room, plus the laundry room is available for use during your stay. Guest maximum occupancy is 10.

Level 2 - offers two bedrooms - one king room with full private bath and another room with a king plus two single beds. There is also another full bath in the hallway on this level.

Outdoors:
The rear deck is off the kitchen and is perfect for sunsets and overlooks the pool. The pool is open mid-April through mid-October. The pool can be heated for a $300 weekly fee by request, in April/May and Sept/Oct. Ground-level patio below the house provides wonderful space for the hot tub, outdoor shower, charcoal BBQ grill, hammocks, hanging daybed, corn hole, picnic table with plenty of space for gathering and games.

4x4 Access:
A properly equipped 4WD vehicle is required. 2WD or standard AWD vehicles cannot make the trip and may become stuck, which can result in towing charges. If anyone in your group won’t have a 4WD vehicle, we’re happy to share nearby paved parking options so you can ride out together. Once at the house, plan for about a 30-minute drive to grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping. We are located in the Northern OBX of NC. Norfolk, VA is the closest airport, approximately 108 miles by car. Map view shows 2 miles to VA border, but the property is only accessible via Rt 12N.

Pet Friendly:
Up to 2 dogs are welcome! Pet fee is $250.

Wild Horse Sightings:
The famous Corolla wild horses roam freely through Carova and are often seen near the house and on the beach - a memorable part of staying here!

Technical:
Wi-Fi is available on every level, with a Smart TV in the great room and each bedroom. A Bluetooth speaker is provided on the main level for your use. Reliable cell service is available via a nearby cell tower at the Carova Fire Station.
