A nice small place, mostly quiet neighborhood. Only two downsides, no toaster and no washer/dryer.

Thank you. The two downsides you mentioned are not items/amenities of the property. If these were a condition of your stay, you probably should have done more research and chose another location. There is no reason for you to give any less than five stars when it was your fault for not reviewing the property thoroughly. In addition, I would suggest that if you move furniture around the home, you return the furniture, etc., back to their original location. Fortunately, there was no damage to the floors or the furniture. I would also recommend treating the home as if it were your own. Whatever you spilled and then let burn in the oven took over an hour to scrape and clean and then another 30-45 minutes scraping the microwave for whatever gooey mess you let explode in there. I would also like to mention that you, or one of your guest, put a used/dirty glass back in the cabinet with the clean glasses. Again, I am sure you don't do this in your own home and it was only by luck I found the glass. I do hope you enjoyed your stay and hope the next vrbo you stay in, is treated a little bit better than you treated our sweet cottage.
The property was very well located for visiting attractions, museums and the retirement center where our 100 year old aunt lives. The house, while old, was clean and comfortable. While it wasnt a big issue for us, I was traveling with my 2 sisters, visitors need to be aware the one bathroom is only accessible thru one of the bedrooms, not centrally located. The neigborhood had
lots of loud cars coming and going and street activity late at night.

Thank you for reviewing our cottage but it is very upsetting that you only gave us a 4 star review. The description of the home is very clear that it is an older home and there is only one bathroom. In most 100 year old homes that I have been in, the bathrooms are rarely in the middle of the house and accessible to all bedrooms.
Our cottage is also described as (even in the title of the listing), "in the heart of the city" so I'm not sure how you did not anticipate road traffic IN the area. Your rating probably doesn't seem like a big deal to you but it is for homeowners and matters to me. The negatives you've described are 100% out of our control and appears to be based on your neglect in reading the entire description of the home prior to booking.
The cottage was very cute and clean. We truly appreciated the snacks and bottled waters that were left by the owner for us. Communication with the owner was easy. The bed that is in the room with the bathroom is too firm for me. The only problem we had was that we found a back bedroom that was not on the listing and was lived in while we were exploring the house upon arrival. We contacted the owner and was informed that her husband stays there during the week for work and that the door is supposed be locked. Though this is understandable but made us nervous.
