We truly enjoyed our stay. We had a very quiet time and enjoyed checking out the area antique shops and restaurants. Would recommend this to family and friends.
My husband and I loved our stay with our pets! The place was clean and cozy. The backyard was fenced which was perfect for our dogs. We used the kayaks, fished, and used the grill which made our stay fun and memorable. Thank you so much for having us and we will definitely book again!
Loved this property. We took our boat and it was a very quiet creek that was easy to navigate once you figured out the entrance. Trapped blue crab, fished, and had a ton of fun!

The house and property were perfect. The description of the house and property were accurate. The house was equipped with everything needed. Only issue was the weather since it rained most of our stay; but nothing anyone could do about that. Would definitely rent this house again.
This property far exceeded our expectations! Megan’s communication and hospitality were exceptional often responding within minutes of sending questions about the property and surrounding area. She even went out of her way to research resources in the area ahead of our stay. The house was very clean, plenty of dishes and other conveniences to make our stay hassle free and EVERYTHING in the home is labeled with clear instructions and procedures. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! We used the paddle board and kayaks, the crab traps and also visited a nearby nature preserve. Our 4-year-old is already asking when we can come back. They also have plenty of resources for canine friends which was a huge bonus for us with our little Boston Terrier. Would recommend again and again!!

It means a lot to know the extra touches—from the labeled instructions to the pet-friendly amenities—made your visit smooth and enjoyable. I love that your family made such great memories on the water and at the nature preserve, and it’s especially sweet that your little one is already asking to return! You’re welcome back anytime—hopefully for a longer stay next time!

I’d honestly say this property description wasn’t accurate because they have thought of everything. EVERYTHING is provided to include crab bait, pots, and poles. We kayaked and fished everyday. Will do some research on the night fishing and return
We spent a wonderful week here with our dog, and it was such a fantastic experience. The neighborhood is peaceful and friendly, yet still conveniently close to stores. The neighbors were lovely, and there were so many things to do in the area. One of the highlights was the kayaks provided at the house — we went paddling every day which was so much fun. During our stay, there was a heatwave and quite a lot of jellyfish, but the listing clearly mentioned this, so we came prepared with protective swimwear and it was no problem at all. Plus, there are beaches nearby in more open parts of the bay where we found fewer jellyfish. The house itself was perfect: very clean, with plenty of towels, shampoo, and everything else we could need. Megan even prepared a crab bait for us, so we enjoyed a couple of crab feasts right at the house There also was a secure fenced area for our dog. Another thing we really appreciated was the light for night fishing: it attracted lots of small fish, and it turned into a beautiful little show to watch under the stars. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and left feeling relaxed and recharged. Highly recommend this place!

Thank you so much for this fantastic review! We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed a relaxing week and made the most of everything the area has to offer — from paddling in the kayaks each day to crabbing and watching the fish under the night fishing light. It means a lot to know that you, and your pup, felt comfortable and had everything you needed, even during the heatwave and jellyfish season. We love when guests come prepared and embrace all the unique parts of our spot!
It was truly a pleasure to host you, and we hope to welcome you back anytime you’re ready for another peaceful getaway on the water.

My family and I had one of the best times at Crazy Whays Retreat! We enjoyed the kayaking, fishing, and catching crabs. The location was perfect as it was quiet, peaceful, and private which was just the place my family and I were looking for. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. We really liked the outdoor shower area as we were able to give our dog a bath after playing in the water. The views were awesome from the outdoor balcony and sitting on the private dock! The price was very reasonable for what you get. The host/property owner, Megan was very kind and communicated well with me. She also did not charge us for a pet fee which was really nice as most places we looked at charged $25 or more for pet fees. All in all, this was the best family retreat we ever had. Would definitely book this property again in the near future!!!
We had a fantastic stay at this property. It is one of the most well-equipped and thoughtfully prepared rentals we’ve ever experienced. All you really need to bring are your clothes. The main house had a comfortable, welcoming vibe and was stocked with everything we needed. From fresh linens and plenty of towels to a full kitchen with cookware ranging from sauce pots to a steamer, nothing was overlooked. The Keurig coffee bar with flavored syrups was a great touch. Everything was modern, clean, and in great working order. The fish house was a highlight. It had a stained-glass fish window, stocked crab bait in the freezer, at least seven rods with various tackle, a fridge, icemaker, lawn games, and even high-quality coolers available for use. It felt like a personal fishing lodge. The dock was well maintained and extended deep into the creek. It included mounted cutting boards, a bait knife, rod holders, chairs, a table, and two fish lights for night fishing. Four crab pots were provided along with three kayaks, a paddleboard, and plenty of paddles and life vests, including one for the dog.We would absolutely return. This place was peaceful, well thought out, and had everything we needed for a great getaway

We’ve poured a lot of love into making sure our guests feel completely at home—and it means the world to know you noticed all the little touches.
We’re especially glad you enjoyed the fish house and dock setup—it really is our favorite spot for unwinding with a rod in hand or catching the evening light on the creek. Sounds like you made the most of everything from the crab pots to the kayaks (and even the coffee syrups!).
We’d love to welcome you back anytime you're craving a peaceful escape by the water. Thank you again for being such wonderful guests!

About the host
Hosted by Megan Little-Moran
Welcome to our VRBO listing! We are Megan and Jim Moran. A little about us: We love to restore homes that seem to be to far gone. We bring them back to life and then share them with you! Our passion is historical homes. We love the stories they tell about their era and owners. When restoring we love to learn about the previous owners and save some of that history with our restorations. We love our fur babies and welcome pets as part of the family.
Why they chose this property
As a stucco contractor by trade, Jim and his team did all of the restorations to this beautiful waterfront property. Several others looked at this house and felt it was to far gone and not worth the investment. Jim, however, saw something totally different. He saw what it could be with hard work and a little TLC. Take a look at the before and after pictures in the kitchen when you stay! Tucked into a quiet creek, this house is the perfect getaway to unwind and get back to you!
What makes this property unique
Hot and cold water at the sink at the dock. This is perfect to clean your catch of the day! The outdoor shower is spacious and the beautiful bamboo provides privacy. The home is located in a quiet neighborhood but its still close to town with plenty of things to do! Winery, restaurants, charter fishing and more.
