Winking Owl is one of three cabins on 12 wooded acres at Hoot Owl Hollow. Guests can cross a small bridge over a seasonal creek and explore a simple walking trail behind the property.

Very clean and comfortable. All the comforts of home. Close to downtown Mentone without feeling like it. All dishware/pans were in great condition. Something you don’t see in most rentals. Great use of space and loved the decor!

Our first time in Mentone. Came for our 20th anniversary. The cottage was just our style and we were so comfortable and happy there for three nights. Much needed relaxation and nature time. We plan to come back.

I live on the property with my two dogs and manage the cabins directly, ensuring each stay is comfortable and well cared for. My goal is simple: to offer guests a thoughtfully designed space where they can slow down, celebrate, and enjoy both the woods and the village just steps away.

We chose this location because Mentone offers something increasingly rare — a true mountain village where you can walk to dinner, greet neighbors along the way, and still be surrounded by natural beauty.

The heart of town is small but vibrant, with local restaurants, seasonal farmers markets, and free summer concerts held just down the street. Waterfalls, hiking trails, and scenic overlooks are only minutes away.

We love that guests can park once and experience both the charm of village life and the quiet of the surrounding woods. Mentone feels personal, unhurried, and connected to the land — qualities that make it a meaningful place to gather, celebrate, and slow down.
