About this property

Morning, afternoon, and evenings are peaceful and relaxing. The view is exceptional throughout the day as the light plays on the surrounding mountains and new colors reflect off the ocean. Enjoy your own private resort complete with a private pool, paddle tennis court, and bocce ball. Hike the endless trails throughout the Santa Monica mountains and return for a feast on your private outdoor deck overlooking the well-manicured grounds as well as the Pacific Ocean.
Sleeping Arrangements
There are three beds and one comfy couch. This makes for very comfortable sleeping for five guests. We have five single camping mattresses that can be placed inside or outside making 10 the maximum number of guests.

Distance to the Beach and grocery store
This is a mountain retreat. You can see the ocean, but it's a 15 minute drive down the mountain to PCH. There is public access to the beach about 15 minute away. The nearest grocery store is 25 minutes away, so remember to bring all of the groceries you need for your stay.
This property has some neighbors nearby who stand ready to help in an emergency. Please be respectful by keeping your evening activities calm and quiet.
Driving In
Latigo Canyon is a long winding mountain road. You will be on this road for about 15 minutes. When turning into the neighborhood, there is a short stretch of narrow mountain road that can make some drivers a little nervous. It's a very short distance and it's paved, but nonetheless, please be prepared for this part of the drive.

We strongly recommend that you drive your own car or a rental car. This is a remote mountain area and your can't count on getting an Uber.

A Fun Getaway!

The yard and deck is really what makes this location special. The yard in particular is nicely put together with a bocce ball court and pickleball court. The pool is extremely inviting and having access to a jacuzzi is fantastic while looking at the panoramic view. It's extremely quiet and remote too if you're looking to go off the grid. Mike, the property, was very responsive to all your questions. Some things were not so intuitive like where the firewood was or how to turn on the jacuzzi. The 3 little houses had all the amenities of a home, complete with a fridge and washer/dryer which I wasn't expecting. My only complaints, the place is listed as sleeping up to 10 people when really it is more 5 people comfortably. I was told we could use air mattresses and people could sleep outside, which is not easy to do when its cold and wet on the patio. I wish there was a FAQ list for things like the firewood to use the fire pit or instructions on use of the pool upon arrival. You also had to bring your own stuff if wanting play on the courts, bocce or tennis. Lastly, one had to be prepared to drive up some windy roads. Overall, had a fantastic time and glad my friends and I had a chance to stay at the Mar Vista Marvelous!

This property is BREATHTAKING

I booked this house to propose to my girlfriend. I had many family and friends hiding in the tiny houses while I proposed down by the pool. It was absolutely magical and the host Mike was more than accommodating for my needs. It's very clean, and felt like our own private resort! The views are spectacular, especially right as the sun sets. I plan on coming back here every year for our anniversary. Oh yeah, and SHE SAID YES!

Amazing location, views and relaxation

What an amazing location and property. The view, pool and hot tub made for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We had 4 adults and the layout and set up was perfect. We did 2 very cool local hikes to waterfalls. I also did some challenging trail running right from the house. We brought our 2 Border Collies and they played from Sunup to Sundown. Mike, was super accommodating and stayed on top of a couple of questions we had related to the function of the hot tub. We would definitely book again.
