About this property

Villa Sanibel - 2F - An Island Hideaway

Beautiful condo on Sanibel Island's world famous shelling beach with the Ding Darling Nature Sanctuary only minutes away. You’ll love Villa Sanibel, a small and smoke-free complex of only 20 units, very quiet, private and just steps to the beach. It's perfect for couples and families (with kids) as it has a large pool, tennis court and is on the bike path and only a short ride or walk to shops and attractions!

2F Villa Sanibel on luxurious West Gulf Drive - a spacious two story vacation home with a beamed wood ceiling and clerestory windows under the roof that give this condominium unit an airy and luminous feeling. The two bedroom, two bath condo with loft is fully furnished with all linens (including beach towels) and kitchen utensils. The master bedroom contains a king-size bed, with a queen bed in the second bedroom and a day bed with a pop-up trundle in the loft, which overlooks the living room area.

The condo is accessible through the main front door as well as a second door that leads into the guest bedroom. There is a full kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, and necessities such as coffee pot, dishes, silverware, cookware, glasses, etc.

The dining room and living room are an open space equipped with a cable television and Smart TV. In the dining area there is a spiral staircase leading to the loft which will sleep two guests. Please note the loft may not be the best fit for small children and/or elderly guests as the staircase is quite narrow.

There is a screened lanai with a dining table and two lounging chairs. The porch is accessible through the living room as well as the master bedroom. The master bedroom contains a full bathroom and the main hallway leads to the guest bedroom, which has an additional guest bath area.

The condo has a linen closet in the hallway containing bath towels, extra sheets and beach towels. In the closet in the guest bedroom you will find beach umbrellas, beach chairs, tennis rackets, and tennis balls.

The recycling receptacles/dumpster are located next to the tennis court. Please place any trash and recycling you may accumulate during your stay inside of these receptacles.

Activities: One of the best shelling beaches in the world is right outside the door. The Beachview Golf Course is two minutes away with shopping and restaurants right around the corner - easy to reach by car or by Sanibel's lovely and safe bike path which runs right by the complex. The Bailey Tract of the Ding Darling Nature Preserve is within walking distance and wildlife is always nearby with dolphins, tortoises, osprey, ibis, etc. sighted daily.

Important Notes: Please note that "busy season" falls during March thru early-mid May. During this time, the island is busy with lots of families with small children. If you prefer to come to the island to enjoy its nature and tranquility, it's best to plan your trip during the "off" months.

The Villa Sanibel neighborhood strictly prohibits smoking of any kind and does not permit parties of any sort (ie, pool parties).

When staying in the Villas, only beach chairs and an umbrella are allowed to remain on the front porches and must be neatly leaned against the walls. Towels and other beachwear must not be hung over any railings (shoes left on the porch are hit-or-miss, given how sandy the island is!).

Easy to relax

The location can't be beat, and the condo is comfortable and quiet. We cooked meals every day and thoroughly enjoyed beach time and time at the wildlife refuge. The central location, and right on the water, makes this pretty hard to beat for the price.

So happy that you had a lovely time on our beautiful island. You saw just a few of our unique attractions. That's great because it leaves lots of things to enjoy on your next visit, like the Historic Village, the lighthouse, the canoe trail through the mangroves, and so much more. Come back soon!

Excellent location and condo

Our stay was for two weeks. This condo is in an excellent location on the beach and a bike ride away from shopping, restaurants, grocery, etc. The condo was very comfortable and clean with everything we needed. The owner was outstanding to work with. Décor needed a little updating and there were a few very minor maintenance items. All in all a great place to stay.

Thanks so much for saying such nice things! I am delighted you enjoyed your stay at our condo on beautiful Sanibel Island. Our condo is right at the mid-point of the island where the shelling is at its best, and the location makes it a great place to see everything the island offers. With the bike path right across the street it's extra easy to get around. Each year we do a little up-dating and redecorating so it will be even more comfortable for your next visit. We want to keep it furnished with those things that will make you feel like you're at home but still create a away-from-it all atmosphere. Our association is always committed to keeping the grounds in beautiful shape and the pool and tennis court ready to offer our guests lots of fun and a great place to meet new friends. Hope to see you back again!

We didn't want to leave!

Great location on the Island, close to grocery store and shops, yet secluded enough to be very quiet. Just steps to the beach and a great view of the pool from the lanai. We ate every meal on the lanai and my kids loved watching anyone in the pool. Pool is large enough. Grill at pool area. Bedrooms are large. Plenty of beach tools to use. We were there two weeks and really did not want to leave. The only issue we had was that the allocated parking space is in an unfortunate spot. Our car got hit and scratched on day 2 and an owner of another condo told me he has seen many cars get hit in that spot. We parked in the visitor spot the remaining time which was not a big deal at all.

Thanks so much!! Delighted you loved wonderful Villa Sanibel. Thanks for the news about the parking spot - I am having the bushes nearby trimmed for more room.

Very Nice Property

We just finished a two month stay at Villa Sanibel 2F and the property was very nice. Check in process was great and the owner was very accessible. The location of this property was excellent. Maybe 30 yards from the beach! We really enjoyed the sunsets every night and getting to know our neighbors. Everyone was very friendly and we had a great time visiting with them. The unit was very well stocked with all the neccessities, towels, beach chairs, kitchen utensils etc. All the appliances worked well with a newer washer and dishwasher. But the real attraction to this property is the location. Its right on the beach! We were able to walk to Casa Ybel resort and enjoy drinks and lunch at the pool bar Coconuts. We also had dinner twice at Thistle Lodge in Casa Ybel and being able to walk home from dinner on the beach was great. Also you are not very far from Bailey's Grocery and Doc Ford's. This mid island location is really convenient to many of the attractions on Sanibel. I would definitely reccommend Villa Sanibel!

Excellent

This is our third time staying at this condo complex, second time in this condo. It is in a great location: on the beach, centrally located, great shelling, watch the sun rise/set, trails, restaurants, etc. The condo complex quiet and has an island feel with a nice pool. Although not fancy , this condo is clean, comfortable and has all you need. Being on the second level is a plus due to the loft and high ceilings. The manager, Hannah, is outstanding to work with and super responsive. We recommend this condo and look forward to renting it again.

Nice Place

Very nice-quiet place to stay. This is a small complex which was why we picked this one, maybe 20 units or so. Very short walk to the beach which was not crowded at all. Close to shopping and restaurants. The kitchen was very well stocked if you want cook. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful time of rest at Villa Sanibel

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay. The property was well kept at the villa. Walking, we were 20 seconds from the beach/oceanfront. It was well lit and although two other condominium properties neighbored the villa, I still felt the villa was secluded. There are beautiful trees lining the property and very minimal traffic within the villa and at the entrance as West Gulf Rd is off the beaten path. Really, the whole island is preserved, secluded, peaceful and minimally commercialized. The master bedroom and bath was comfortable. The second bedroom was also nice and had a door to the outside which was helpful if we were having trouble with the lock on the main door (sometimes the knob was troublesome). It was great having an entry code rather than a key! No key to worry about getting lost at the beach!! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes. The lanai was comfortable and overlooked the pool—great watching thunderstorms from the lanai. A large towel rack was on the lanai for beach towels. The loft area was cute but we didn’t need to use it. We enjoyed the smart TV, the large kitchen table for puzzles that were provided, the closeness to the beach and the second floor location. I also appreciated the selection of beach chairs and boards/noodles. It would be great to have a beach umbrella provided, but they are easy to rent on the island. There are plenty of towels and bars of hand soap, dishwasher and dishwashing soaps, and a few laundry detergent pods. We really enjoyed our stay and from what we saw as we scoped out the island, the villa is really a prime spot and one of the nicest properties for all of the reasons I mentioned above. I hope to return!!

Great place to stay!

When we checked in I immediately took a picture of the broken door in the laundry area because we did not break it and I wanted this verified. I received a response right away thanking me & stating they would have repaired. This did not happen while we were there & the door was a annoying the whole stay. The shower in the master left me standing in two inches of water every single use and I resorted to wearing shoes in the shower because it just felt gross. No soap dispensers were provided and the sponge left in the kitchen was beyond gross-I threw it away. The trash receptacles in the kitchen were broken. The lid was broken on the recycle bin and the trash bin could not be opened at all. Just a few minor but annoying things that could easily be repaired. The property itself is great/ these condos are great for family vacations because they are central and sit right on the beach. This particular unit needs more maintenance & attention to details.

Perfect Sanibel

This property is wonderful! The number of condos in small (20 I think) so there are not the crowds you see at large resorts. The incredible white sand and shell beach is steps from your door. The pool and shared outdoor space were peaceful and well maintained. We had no issues at all with our condo, furnishings, etc were all in good order.

We loved our accommodations. There were a few things that needed updating.

We loved the proximity to the Gulf. The condo complex was extremely quiet, day and night. We hope to rent this condo again.

I am so pleased you liked Villa Sanibel. I have had my condo now for 29 years. What I most like is that it is so much more residential rather than like a resort. Every time I go down there are always people who I've met there before. People come back year after year so it's like your own neighborhood and everyone respects everyone else's space. You are certainly most welcome to come back any time. I offer a discount to my lovely guests who return. Just contact me directly for more details when you want to come again. Have a great summer! Marcy.

A Great Place for a Geat Vacation

Villa Sanibel 2F is quite charming. The kitchen is well stocked if you choose to cook, the beds are comfortable, the location is perfect. This unit is well cared for and looks out over a sparkling pool. The beach is merely feet away. The two weeks we were there were filled with daily walks on the beach collecting shells, swimming and visiting with new friends around the pool, and our favorite gathering each evening on the beach to watch the magnificent sunsets. There are plenty of spaces to park bikes for riding the bike trail that is just across the road. We are planning on returning again next year.

Villa Sanibel 2F.

Great location. Close to beach. Some neighbor problems but generally friendly people. Needs minor maintenance. Few working table lamps with burned out light bulbs. Overall it's what is to be expected in a rental condominium. A few contract issues.
