Spacious, newly remodeled home with a large porch and 8 min from downtown Athens
Very unique home just miles from Athens. Once a local general store, this space has been transformed into a beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with modern amenities. The space has been skillfully renovated and finished for a comfortable and spacious stay. It has a large open space common area, great for family gatherings, cooking or watching the game...

Athens is home to this holiday home. Sanford Stadium and Ware-Lyndon House are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Bishop Park Tennis Center and University Golf Course. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Stegeman Coliseum or Jefferson Memorial Stadium.
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely home while in town for a wedding this weekend. My family & I were very happy with the place as it was peaceful & quaint. Ken was such great host, he was so nice and accommodating & easy to get in touch with. We would definitely stay again if we are around the area!!
Loved the inside of the property as was very nice, clean and up to date. Communication with property owner was fantastic all thru our stay. Outside of property doesn’t give the inside justice. Overall great place to stay and thanks for sharing.

Ken's place is very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It is an older home, but has been renovated recently. It was a great place for us to stay while in town for a football game. The owner was easy to communicate with and flexible with entry/exit times, which we appreciated.
House was perfect. Easy to get too and close to downtown Athens/Sanford Stadium. Just outside of town so you get to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the wilderness. Comes with all the necessities. Nice back porch to relax and enjoy the weather. I highly recommend and will definitely book again if back in Athens.

Kimberly was a wonderful guest; I look forward to having her stay again the next time she's in Athens!
We were in town for a football game, hiking and a kayak trip in Athens area and found this cute and unique home. It was a general store in the 49’s and Kenny has transformed it into a relaxing home filled with antiques. The location is convenient and easily accessible to downtown Athens- we were at Sanford stadium in less than 20 minutes. Very quiet neighborhood yet close to hiking r tree sold
and a short 20 minutes frive to kayak. Kenny, our host, even provided us with breakfast items for the next day. Very gracious and easy to communicate with. We will definitely choose this home again.

Thank you for the gracious review! It was certainly a pleasure to meet all of you and to have you as my first guests! You were all very kind! I enjoyed talking with you and thank you for the advice on details I overlooked. I very much look forward to seeing all of you again soon!
Pros: Ken was great. You can tell he loves this place. The home was stocked with an abundance of supplies, games, snacks, coffee, and kitchen items. My daughter loved the piano. Various pieces of antique fixtures galore that reminded me of my childhood throughout the stay. The long porch was perfect for reading, grilling or resting. Convenient to UGA but far enough to avoid the high traffic and noise. Managed to grab a few figs from the backyard.
Cons: Photos do not represent how good the inside really looks. Exterior appears dated at first glance but you get over that quickly.

Almost Perfect
When we first pulled up and saw the property we were worried because the outside of the property is not kept up well at all. The yard was very overgrown and unkept.
When we walked into the house we saw that it looked to be clean and well decorated. On the second night there we saw quite a few roaches in the kitchen and living room as well as one of the bedrooms. This was very unnerving. These roaches were huge and several small ones as well. Because of this we would probably not stay there again.

Greetings Lisa,
The weather temperatures were beginning to drop just prior to your stay, and I too started to notice roaches coming inside. I apologize for not having the time to schedule an exterminator beforehand. I feel confident that the county will soon be finished with installing new utility lines in the front yard and it will be well kept should you change your mind and decide to stay again in the future. Except for the pond, I allow it to remain overgrown in the winter because it acts as a protective cover for the fish who hibernate during this time of the year.
This rental was a sweet stay. Ken was an incredible host and very communicative. The place was clean and well decorated. Would recommend staying here for a weekend getaway or to escape from the craziness of campus.
Great location to Athens and very accommodating host
This was a great location to downtown Athens and Sanford Stadium. The host was very accommodating and nice to deal with. It sits a little closer to the road than the picture indicates, but that was not a big deal for us.
It was a good property and reasonably priced. We would stay here again.
