It was clean and just as advertised. It was a good thing we had so much space because it rained much of the weekend, but because the house is so large, we managed quite well. We will certainly consider this house next time we gather.
My family and I decided to spend thanksgiving with a lake view, I’m glad we selected this property away from home to spend the holidays together, this cabin is pretty big and beautiful, we are a pretty big family of 27 including kids, really enjoyed our stay in this property. Very accommodating and responsive to our needs during our stay. 100% recommend and would love to go back.
This private getaway is nice and accommodated our family (~30) for our family reunion. There were beds for everyone and space to relax and catch up. Would recommend this location for your next reunion!
The path to the dock is challenging, but reasonable. The location is very secluded and quiet.
We booked this lovely cabin to celebrate our friend’s bachelors party. It was a beautiful trip full of wonderful sights, comfy accommodation, and plenty of activities. We were looking for something quiet and the location gave us the perfect opportunity to go into town, grab some meals, and spend the evening at venues in Eureka Springs. Everything was quick, efficient, and accessible. Kudos to the hosts!

Thank you so much!! We loved having you and hope to see you again!
This property is an amazing place to get away from it all. Set on a bluff above a winding Ozark lake, the property is secluded enough to feel you are leaving the busy world behind. The 30+ acres of property allows for hiking, fishing, swimming, and other outdoor activities. There are plenty of restaurants and stores within driving distance, and even closer by boat. The lodge is almost completely made of logs from the local woods, with furniture and decorations appearing to be from the same source. We used the property for a small wedding, and it turned out perfect. We'll be back in the summer when it isn't as cold to enjoy the outer areas more. It was perfect.
Our family of 14, made up of adults, teen, and little ones, stayed at this beautiful cabin over Thanksgiving 2022. We spent four nights on the property - cooking, relaxing, playing games, and exploring outdoors. From start to finish, this cabin was perfect for our family. There was plenty of open space - inside and out. The bed/bathroom suites accommodated all our needs, and there was an abundance of linens for both sleeping and bathing. If I were to critique anything, I would have to say the kitchen space is a little tight for such a large group of people and not very functional for easily moving around in when you are trying to cook a large meal. However, we managed just fine, and the kitchen was very well stocked with pots/pans/utensils, etc. The owner of this property is incredibly easy to work with and very responsive to any messages sent. We really loved it here and would readily book this property again. Thank you Kara for sharing your beautiful cabin!

Thank you so much!! We hope we can host your family again soon!
We have been doing are family vacations through VRBO for the last 10 years. All have been at either Table Rock Lake or Beaver Lake. As our family has grown (up to 22 now) it has been increasingly difficult (as you could imagine) to find a place to accommodate our needs. Well, no more. The Live Well Lodge was everything we needed and then some. A beautiful home on a beautiful section of Table Rock. So much room for everyone to spread out and have their space. Plenty of space for the kids to be kids. The dock and swim platform were perfect. We took our boat and enjoyed the lake from sunrise to sunset. Tubing, skiing, swimming, fishing (call Fletchers's Fishing Guide Service for a great experience), grilled, ate, ate some more, smores around the fire. The entire cliché. Thanks to our host Kara. We love your home and will be back.
Invest in your family. Love your kids. Spend time together. There is nothing that matters more.
I just wanted to thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful house and property at Live Well Lodge. We had a fabulous time and our family made some awesome memories during our stay. We boated, swam, played yard games, fished and spent many evenings playing cards and board games. One evening we had s'mores outside at the fire pit. We had plenty of room and the house was outfitted so thoughtfully. The bedrooms/baths were perfect for our group and gave everyone more than enough space so we weren't on top of each other!
The house was fantastic. The beds were super comfy and there were plenty of them. I loved that there were more than enough towels and toiletries for everyone. The kitchen was very well equipped. We had fun cooking for each other and sharing time around the tables. Oh....and the porches were amazing!!! Mornings and evenings were so nice relaxing on them. We were also blessed with deer feeding in the mornings at the front of the property. This is a peaceful setting for unplugging and enjoying one another.
Thanks again for a wonderful time. Our family loved it.
This house was as large and beautiful, with a comfortable room and bed for everyone in our family. The lake access was amazing, and having all of the life jackets there was great. The kitchen was well stocked; there were lots of sheets and numerous bath towels. We shopped at the Sunfest Mart and were very happy with the options and prices.
I would have given five stars except for four things:
- We planned to grill our first night there, but couldn’t get the grill to work. Despite my calling and texting both the on-site caretaker and the owner, we got no reply until the next day, when we learned the gas canister was empty.
- The basement sliding glass door would not lock, even after my handyman brother fiddled with it. With all of the children staying in the basement room, we had to wedge a piece of furniture in the door to lock it.
- The number of bath towels was huge; however, there were only about 8 beach towels for a house that sleeps 32. With a house right on the water, I expected more beach towels.
- The Fireside Getaway suite bed was very comfortable, but so tall! There was one stool to access the bed from one side, but it really needed a second stool. I also would have liked a fireplace screen that gave more privacy so that you couldn’t see right into the living room. Appreciate the box fan for noise, though!
Overall, great stay, but could use a few tweaks.

About the host
Hosted by Kara Cunningham
Hello! I am Kara Cunningham, owner of Live Well Lodge, LLC. Though I’m a lifelong resident of east central Kansas, I fell in love with the Ozarks during my childhood traveling to rodeos in the region! I’m a nature lover, and this area caught my eye. I’ve been an avid traveler throughout my life and love going places and having adventures with my family. To this day, this region is still one of the most beautiful places to me!
I was only able to purchase this property because of my home-based business. In 2011, while going through a divorce, I picked up a side gig to help me afford bills for me and my three small children. I was a college professor and loved it but it wasn’t able to completely provide for me and the kids. I started selling Xyngular health and wellness products with the goal to not only get healthier myself, but also help out my family financially. Little did I know, that decision would be life-changing! After three years, I was able to fully retire from teaching after an 18-year career in higher education and stay at home with my children full time. The products and the business opportunity have allowed us to LIVE WELL beyond any dreams we had! This property is an example. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever see myself – a single mom of three – able to purchase a second home for my family to enjoy. Because this was only possible because of my eXcel Wellness business, I’ve named it Live Well Lodge. It’s one of the ways my family continues to LIVE WELL!

Why they chose this property
When the pandemic hit in 2020, it shut down travel for me and my family. Since I’ve always lived in the country and love privacy and seclusion, I started looking for a place outside of the city limits and with substantial land that we could enjoy and explore. We wanted to be able to bring our horses or ATV and be within a half day’s drive from our home. I also wanted a place where I could host my business colleagues for training and gatherings. It was a tall order to meet all of these expectations, but this property was beyond perfect! I purchased Live Well Lodge in 2021 as a place that not only I could take my family and colleagues to enjoy an Ozark vacation, but also to use as a short-term rental so other people could enjoy its beauty and make memories here as well!
What makes this property unique
I have thoroughly enjoyed decorating, finding one-of-a-kind items and piecing Live Well Lodge together room by room to create the ideal Ozark vacation spot. I hope you enjoy it and love it just as much as I do and treat it just as you would your own beloved possessions in your own home! When you visit Live Well Lodge, enjoy the outdoors, the recreation room, the Renew Wellness Retreat, the Oasis Meeting Room, the views, the peaceful setting and the small welcoming gifts to help you, too, live well. Go on some Ozark adventures and explore the area! Experience historic and quaint Eureka Springs, see the beauty of Beaver Bridge, fish for trout at Roaring River State Park or Dogwood Canyon and grab a bite to eat at one of the many local restaurants! Most of all, make amazing memories with your group!
