We had an awesome stay while in town for a wedding. We had a little difficulty finding the property, but that was due to the fact we got in around 8:30 pm. Overall very nice stay with a beautiful sunrise view of the mountain.
Overall, this was a nice little house. It could use a few updates, but nothing major. Beds were comfortable , the house was clean, and the kitchen had everything that I needed to fix breakfast and dinner. I would stay here again.
Very clean and comfortable with well-stocked kitchen, nice space for hanging with family, and ample sleeping arrangements. It was nice to enjoy the peace and quiet of a private home at Wintergreen. We hope to visit again.
While our initial portion of our stay was really smelly due to that we encountered a dead mouse in a trap in the kitchen, once that was cleared out by us, it was a more pleasant experience. Owner very prepared ahead of time with letting us know about accommodations and quick to respond to messages. Beds aren't the most comfy, but for the price and the location, it worked out.
Our stay was great. I think, It’s located within the wintergreen resort properties. so it’s secluded yet lots of cabins around to make you feel safe. The house itself is well stocked with kitchen gadgets, from basics like coffee maker to air fryer, grinder etc. All the bedrooms are in the lower floor and they could use some updates. The bedrooms had a musty smell when entering. But there are air purifiers in the room, which was helpful to remove the smell. Apart from that we had a great stay. There are lots of hiking trails near by, wineries and breweries and overlooks. And lastly Emil was very responsive.

The property was in a nice spot and although some updates and minor repairs were needed, the property was nice with the big windows, fireplace and nice hardwood floors in the main living area. The main complaint that I had was cleanliness. We started washing floors, wiping counters and cleaning bathrooms upon arrival. And because of this we were not comfortable with the bedding so we washed the bedding as well before we slept. To be fair, the person in charge of the house emailed us in advance and gave us a chance to check in early if we wanted. And I did appreciated the pet friendly house, competitive price and the huge collection of DVDs and video games. But if I had known about the state of cleanliness, I would have stayed elsewhere
We booked this place to stay during our skiing trip as a family. It was only for a one night stay so we wouldn’t have to drive 3 hrs home after skiing all day. Just a few things I’ll mention because there is not enough room on this page to list them all. Dog hair everywhere including the beds, master bed room and bathroom had a terrible sewer smell, kitchen was filthy, I messaged the owner to let him know we were leaving because of the filthiness and terrible sewer smell and asked for a refund and never got a response. I guess he is keeping the cleaning fee as well. We literally were there for 15 min and got back in our car and drove 3 hrs home after skiing all day. Would not recommend anyone booking this place

Rough start but perfect location
When we arrived at night it was pitch black, no lights were on at all. Sliding in the ice on the stairs using my phone flash light found the lock box with the key was broken and wouldn’t open. Called the host who had me try it 5 times then told me about a hidden key so I had to walk around and down a hill (also icy) in the dark, to the side of the house for the key. After that our stay was good. House is very packed full of so many “things” in every closet and cabinet like a storage unit. All decor and appliances very outdated and cob webs, unfinished trim and walls where it looks like construction was done by a non professional. Other than this the location was pretty perfect to the resort and we had a good time.
Heat was not working when we arrived. Contacted host and said he would send someone out. Could not be fixed. He asked use to use wood and space heaters provided. There was no wood available. Some of the space heaters were not working. We stayed bc we had nowhere to go that evening and had to buy heated blankets and wood. Screen door screen broken. Was able to check in early which was nice. Did not seem the property was well cleaned care for. Would not recommend.
I hate to ever leave a review that isn’t good, but this property really needs a lot of work. The upstairs is covered in cobwebs on the ceilings and the light fixtures have a layer of grease, presumably from cooking, with dust and dog hair embedded. It’s clear that no deep cleaning has occurred in a long time. I found a hard piece of bread in a utensil drawer when I opened it. The back deck has rotting boards and is honestly in need of replacement. You can see through it in many spots and it was bad enough we told the kids not to go out on it and we stayed inside. The televisions are very nice, and there are several gaming systems in the house. But the main bedroom downstairs has an odor, probably a dog smell, that permeates it. Running the air purifier helps some, but doesn’t entirely get rid of it. All of the bathrooms are functional but could use some updating. One of our teens, who wasn’t a large person at all, sat on a dining room chair and a leg fell off. We alerted the owner who indicated he would have it fixed when we left (completely fine as there were plenty of other chairs, albeit some were wobbly). Overall, it felt like the price was high given how much it needs done to it to be a place I would want to rent again.
I was spoiled. Every bedroom and the great room had high definition television with everything it seemed. The host was nearby in case of difficulty, but there was none. Our stay was too short to breakfast on the deck or fire pit, but it was great.
Emil is a great host with good communication. Pretty, little bit older house in a beautiful spot in wintergreen, with a good balance of privacy and proximity to breweries, gas stations, etc. It is a significant drive from the base of the road, but couldn’t find a more beautiful drive if you tried. Best features of the house are the large open living room, big kitchen, and peaceful view. We would definitely stay here again!
