Two properties in one, The Garden House is the perfect fit for a couple’s retreat, a family getaway, or simply a chance to slow down and reconnect. If you’re dreaming of a place where everyone can be together but still enjoy their own space, you’ve found it.

Our home sits on a quiet cul-de-sac in a hidden-gem neighborhood on the beachside of Highway One. Just 200 steps from the sand in Morro Bay’s beloved Beach Tract, it feels like your own secret hideaway by the sea.
The main house features two comfortable bedrooms, each with sliding doors that open to the back patio, where you can catch peek-a-boo views of the ocean. The bathroom is custom-tiled and thoughtfully designed—just the right size.

On the north side of our property, you’ll find the spacious Studio Suite with its own entrance. Inviting open floorplan, futon couch, and TV, with a slider to the back patio. Including a cute kitchenette and a beautifully tiled full bathroom. This suite has its own front garden patio plus a private back patio with a bistro table, perfect for morning coffee or an extra retreat when you want some quiet. It’s wonderful for grandparents, visiting couples, or anyone who’d like a little extra privacy.

To the south side, the Main House boasts sunlit rooms and vaulted ceilings that create an open and airy, vibe. The welcoming great room is cozy and open, the kitchen is fully stocked for family breakfasts or late-night snacks, and the space between the main house and the Studio Suite is our (always popular) garage/game room. Equipped with a pool table and ready for a little competition and bit of family fun.

Step outside and you’ll see why we call it The Garden House. Mature landscaping wraps around multiple patios, with a little waterfall feature out front, a hot tub tucked away for evening soaks, a rooftop deck with ocean views, and fire pits ready for marshmallows or wine under the stars. This home was made for making memories.

Bring the whole crew (up to six guests), and yes—your dogs are welcome too. They’ll love the yard as much as you do. We just ask a small pet fee of $35 per dog, per day.

When you’re ready to explore, it’s all at your doorstep. Wander the beach, collect sand dollars, and watch sea otters play in the waves. Take a day trip up the coast to Big Sur or Hearst Castle, or head just 12 minutes inland if you’re visiting Cal Poly.
A quick note: there’s parking for two cars in the driveway and one on the street (no RVs or large trucks, please). The house is non-smoking, and the booking guest must be at least 27. For extra peace of mind, we recommend travel insurance—because sometimes life happens.

This property was very nice ! The home was very clean and comfortable. We had multiple generations staying at the house so the separate suite was perfect for our family. It was close to the beach. The hot tub was relaxing and the outdoor space was amazing!

We spent a lovely extended weekend in this beautiful home. We had a minor issue with a dead battery in a CO2 monitor but the hosts were very responsive. We could hear the waves from the deck. I would definitely stay there again.

Great Central Location

We chose this property because of its great location. - walk to the beach and central to the Town and Harbor of Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Cayucos, and Cambria, all which were areas we wanted to visit. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with, and especially enjoyed the hot tub. We would stay here again.

The place is literally 200 yards from the beach…great location for walks along Morro Strand state beach. Very cozy place. Everything in the VRBO was very well represented. And Lisa was very responsive and helpful during our whole entire stay. Didn’t have any hiccups.

This was a beautiful quiet property just steps from the beach. It was easy to get to all the great spots we wanted to visit -Morro Bay, Hearst Castle, Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo. Close to restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend.

We stayed here last year and loved it so much we returned! Great location, about a 3 mile walk to Embarcadero, very short walk to the beach, very quiet neighborhood. Excellent communication with owners. They responded very quickly to any questions we had before and during our stay. Tons of amenities including Keurig, regular coffee maker, washer & dryer, patio table (with an amazing view), beach chairs, beach towels, jacuzzi and BBQ. Even a pool table!!! Enjoyed sitting on the back patio for coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings. We look forward to returning next summer!

Two Houses in One

Loved this VRBO that is really like two houses in one. Great for multiple couples or families because the addition on the other side of the garage has its own kitchenette, bathroom, TV, yard and even a separate entrance. Home has all of the amenities - cookware, linens, games, pool table andeven a kayak! Short walk to a beautiful beach!!!

Great Getaway

Location was amazing. Walking distance to the beach. Listing is spot on. 2 bedroom beach house with a studio on the other side of the garage. Completely furnished with everything you need. Hot tub was so nice after a long day. Outdoor garden area was very relaxing in the morning to enjoy our coffee. Communication with owner was prompt. And check in process was so easy. Definitely recommend staying here and will hopefully book again soon!

Home away from home. Great location!

We had a great time at this soecial property where every detail was thought of! Beautiful grounds, gorgeous interior, no corners cut. Nice pool table and a lovely studio along with full house! Close to lots of beaches, downtown at the harbor, Morro Rock, not a long drive to Hearst castle in San Simeon where we also saw elephant seals up close. We visited Los Osos Montana de Oro state park- can’t miss! Our host, Lisa, was super helpful and available for questions and to give ideas. They’ve built a beautiful place to enjoy and just get away from it all!!

What a wonderful, cozy place! The neighborhood was nice and quiet; close to the beach, restaurants and wineries. The guesthouse was perfect for the two of us. It includes a kitchenette that allowed us to have leisurely morning coffee and afternoon snacks. There are two outside areas- one of which includes a fire pit. A great place to relax! The hosts were friendly and informative. All in all, we couldn’t be happier. We will be back!

Fantastic Morro Bay home near the water

This house was the best VRBO we have stayed in. There was nothing missing. The pantry was stocked with spices, the cooking equipment was complete and great quality. More refrigerator / freezer space than any home I have rented. The studio house was also fully stocked and fantastic. The spa was an added bonus that we didn’t expect. Overall rating is an A+++. We will be back.

We had a wonderful time in this studio, located in a beautiful neighborhood. There were a few minor issues as the owner was still working out the "bugs." A notebook containing information such as how to use the outdoor heater and the wifi information would have been nice to have, as we had to contact the owner for this information as well as other questions that arose.

Thoroughly impressed with the home the hosts provide here! This was a great stay! We wanted peace, and quiet for our vacation, and it was delivered! The kitchen had everything we needed to do some home cooking! The bathroom had a good size tub. Don’t forget the brand new spa, and beautiful backyard covered in flowers! There was plenty of spaces outside of the house to clear your mind, enjoy the sound of the ocean, or the water fountain. There are beautiful succulents surrounding the house, everywhere, gorgeous property! Several seating places to sit outside, and enjoy all the visual pleasantries! Can’t wait to come back! The Best Ever !!!

The property manager was so very helpful during my entire stay! It was a brand new listing, and we worked together to see that everything I could need was there. The amenities were just right, and the ocean theme was right up my alley. The front outside patio with lovely plants and gas fire pit was a wonderful end to the day. I used to live in the area, so that patio space offered a great gathering place for an evening get together with my friends who came to visit. The property is located with easy access to Hwy 1 and so getting everywhere was a breeze. There is an additional small patio on the other side which made a great breakfast or reading space. And it is walking distance to the beach which was also fantastic. It is perfect for 1-2 people, and I would highly recommend it.

Our Experience

Great location and very clean. The unit itself had plenty of kitchen items, dishes, glassware, etc. However, the arrival process was frustrating. We never received check-in information from the manager/owner. When we arrived, no one was on site. We were able to do some online research and track down her phone number (not thru vrbo). When we called her she seemed surprised/unaware that we were checking in that day. She gave us access with no problem, but we should not have had to track her down. Day 2 we realized that there was no toilet paper in stock and we had used up the half roll that was in the holder by then. We texted the owner and she said the new housekeeper had forgotten to restock. She did reach out to us with a phone call and had TP delivered within the hour. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but she could have been more on top of things.

Perfect for a Couple’s Retreat

This smallish studio is perfect for two people looking for a peaceful, cozy getaway on the gorgeous Central Coast of CA. It truly is private, quiet, well-appointed, decorated with a cute beach theme and comfortable. There is a kitchenette with a two-burner stove, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. We were able to prepare some simple meals and thereby save some money on eating out. The bidet was a particularly nice and unexpected touch. How did I The owner Lisa was very friendly and responsive with communication and checked in shortly after our arrival to be sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. We enjoyed a lovely walk on the nearby beach at low tide. The accommodation is located about 2.8 miles north of the center of Morro Bay in the beautiful, safe Beach Track neighborhood. We brought our bikes and had one great bike ride to Morro Bay one day and another to Cayucos another day. There are some wonderful bike paths in the area. There is a lovely enclosed patio. We didn’t use the propane-powered fire pit, but could have. There are some very good restaurants of varying cuisines to choose in MB and Cayucos. We highly recommend renting kayaks at “A Kayak Shack” at the Marina and kayaking for an hour or two on the MB National Estuary. The sea otters will melt your heart. They have a very convenient overhead bar with handles for entering and exiting the kayak. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this rental without hesitation! Enjoy!

My family and I really enjoyed staying and this beautiful property! Grounds were well maintained and there was plenty of space to relax outside, enjoy nature and view the ocean. Hot tub was an added bonus. Beds were comfy and kitchen had all that was needed to cook a great meal. So much more was provided for an entertaining stay including books, games, beach toys/accessories and a pool table. Location was great. Easy walk to beach and close drive to shops and restaurants. Host was easy to communicate with. I would stay again!

Being on the beachside of Highway 1 with a 5-minute walk to the sand makes this a great spot. In addition, we are on a cul de sac we have very little traffic and lots of privacy. We have great neighbors and the proximity to the ocean is ideal!
