We brought our family to Terre Haute for a family thanksgiving. We stayed at this cottage and were very pleased with the accommodations. My son (8) loved the basement area. The beds were a bit firm, but I think that is to be expected when staying in a rental property or hotel. The host was easy to communicate with and the check-in/check-out was very easy. I would absolutely stay here again in the future. It was nice.
Perfect house for us to stay at while visiting our son at Rose-Hulman for a few days. Kitchen was well stocked, the neighborhood was quiet, and the house is close to restaurants and grocery stores. Would definitely stay here again.
I spent a weekend with my family at this adorable place. We were in town for a wedding. It's an older well decorated home in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms are small but comfortable. The kitchen was sufficient for our short stay. My daughter and I enjoyed a walk around the neighborhood. We found it easy to get around for shopping(just a few minutes to a nice Walmart and shopping area). We would definitely stay here again if in the area!
We were in town due to a family medical emergency and the house was centrally located between hospital and other family. Easy access, very comfortable, and the kitchen had the necessities. The hosts were very helpful.
Great location. Close to rose Hulman. Kitchen small but was able to cook some meals. Basement with pool, ping pong, games was a great surprise and gave kids somewhere to hang out. Would definitely stay here again.
Everything was great about this place. We only stayed on the first floor. Bit the second floor had two bedrooms that looked great.
It very cold when when we’re here but, if it would have been warmer we would have utilized the outdoor area which looked pretty cool.
Thank you to the host.
Stayed here for my daughter ISU graduation. It's cozy and has everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, fun game room in the basement, nice outdoor areas (although it was raining so we didn't use them). It's not a huge house but we didn't need it - it really had everything we needed for the weekend. The checkin/checkout procedure was simple, supplies were plentiful, and it was a good value for our money. I would definitely stay here again if I'm back in town.
Family wedding and New Year's celebration for my neice and new husband. Great house for small families. There is also a couch available for sleeping if additional sleeping room is needed. Clean and well equipped. Would definitely rent again if ever in the Terre Haute area.
Birthday weekend to visit an old friend and family.
The house is a quaint little house and was perfect for me. Kitchen was well stocked and everything was clean and convenient.
I loved the side porch for a cup o tea in the AM and enjoyed the fire table out back my first night. The gas ran out and I’m sorry to say I didn’t get to let my host know…my bad.
Neighborhood was quiet and so convenient for me! 5-6 min in either direction to visit my friends and family and many places to eat as well!
I would definitely stay there again. The only negative for me was I prefer a softer mattress and too much light comes in windows in the morning. Even w/shades.
we liked the house, it is small but it had everything we needed, the kids game room looked fun but we didn't have any kids. the neighborhood is great, nice people and very pretty, the host had good communication. there is a restaurant called Bev's near, with the best food for lunch. the outlets in the kitchen and main bath had 3 prong outlets, other spots had the 2.
Liked the quiet location and proximity to a nearby school where the kids could play. House was cute and comfortable. Two upstairs bedrooms slept our 4 boys nicely. The basement was a nice retreat for them too. The only downsides were no dishwasher or laundry. That made our week long stay a bit challenging sometimes. The main bathroom gets really damp and a is small. It served the purpose but it could be improved. Fenced yard and backyard space was nice too, but we didn't use it.

Small house
Check in and communication was great. This is an OLD house. It is small and quaint, but it is not a good place for families. The curtains on the windows are see-through. Only a few windows have shades that block sun light. Owner - please add shades to the windows! Lots of dust and debris under dressers, beds, furniture. There is only one bath/shower in this house, on the main floor, next to the master bedroom. The floors are VERY squeaky and loud. The electrical outlets are only "2 prong", old and out of date, make sure you bring adapters to be able to use electrical outlets. We did not get any direction on how to lock the front door... "just wait 60 seconds and it locks automatically" but we finally figured out that you can hold down the # key to lock when leaving. There are NO HANGERS in any of the closets in the house. It's a small thing, but when you need to hang up clothes it's a big deal.Overall this is an average VRBO, we have stayed in nicer places and worse places, and it seems to be priced right based on size and location, but there are also things that could be improved.
