About this property
Experience nature’s splendor at a pet-friendly cabin 20 minutes from Asheville.
A beautiful mountain cabin serving as a home base for exploring western North Carolina and a great place to relax when you’re done! This is a very private property without another house in sight! Enjoy the high-end finishes and furniture in this nicely appointed cabin.
Bring your hiking shoes, bike, canoe or kayak, and other toys to enjoy the mountains of Western North Carolina. White Rock Lodge is near the Pisgah National Forest border and about six miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Access the Parkway via scenic, winding Highway 151—a gorgeous drive or challenging (but rewarding!) bicycle climb. Once you reach the Parkway, you’re just three miles from the Mount Pisgah trailhead and a 1.5-mile hike from the finest panoramic views around at 5,721 feet.
And if you seek a different kind of action, the lodge is a 25-minute drive to the funky downtown of Asheville where you’ll find plenty of interesting people, arts, history, and more craft beverages than you’ve ever dreamed of! If a leisurely shopping outing is more your style the quaint town of Waynesville is just a 30 minute drive to the West.
White Rock Lodge sits on 53 acres of forested land on the southern slope of White Rock Mountain. Here, you can sit out on the 450-square foot raised deck overlooking a grassy field full of wildlife, count the stars in a very dark sky, and take in the sounds of…nothing, except the creatures of the night. The spacious deck provides ample room to grill, dine al fresco, and relax in the rocking chairs with a glass of something delicious. Enjoy a campfire in the fire ring and provided firewood under the outside stairs. Wildlife abounds in this area; take your morning coffee out on the deck and enjoy the deer and turkeys when they're most active.
The lodge is perfect for two, but a sleeper sofa could accommodate a couple more.
Only a single dog less than 25 lbs is permitted unless pre-approved. A $50 pet fee per stay is required. Any unregistered pets are subject to a $100 fee.
You may decide to unplug upon arrival, but, if not, free WiFi will keep you connected with the outside world. We have two, actively recording cameras overlooking the parking area and the back field which record audio and video. They are used to ensure the security of the premises from theft and unauthorized access. All devices are on the exterior of the building.
We’d love to welcome you to White Rock Lodge.
Note: Cabin has no stove or oven, it does have a gas grill with side burner out on the deck. Microwave, fridge, toaster, and coffee pot in kitchen. No access to garage.

About the host
Hosted by Brian Jones

We are a retired couple that spend winters in Florida and summers in North Carolina. We enjoy all things outdoors and have two long-haired dachshunds that we take with us almost everywhere. We enjoy RVing and spend about a month a year traveling the country visiting friends and family and local breweries. One of our favorite activities here is river tubing on the French Broad River (google “Zen Tubing”).
Why they chose this property
This property is a guest cabin down the mountain from our main cabin. It’s very quiet and relaxing and very well furnished and maintained. We love watching the wildlife in the field from the deck. Many friends and family have stayed there over the past 10 years and loved it!
What makes this property unique
Only about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville and 30 minutes from downtown Waynesville. We are about 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway up Highway 151 which is a beautiful drive. This cabin is easy to get to in the summer, fall, and spring but may be impassable when there is snow or ice on the road.
