The Space:
Steam curls from the hot tub as the Shenandoah Valley stretches beyond the trees, and the crisp mountain air carries birdsong through the quiet morning. You step onto the deck and feel the soft rustle of leaves, a gentle reminder that nature is just outside your door. Inside, the single‑level cabin welcomes you with warm light, comfortable seating and the scent of fresh pine, inviting you to unwind after a day of exploring Luray.
Sleeping arrangements
The cottage comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests across three bedrooms and a living area. One bedroom features a queen bed, while the other two bedrooms each include a queen/twin bunk bed. In the living room, a pull‑out sofa offers additional sleeping space. Bed linens, extra pillows and blankets are provided for crisp mountain nights.
Living space
All living areas are on one level, eliminating stairs and making movement easy for families and groups. Large windows fill the space with natural light, and a TV is ready for relaxed evenings. Central heating and air conditioning keep the interior comfortable year‑round.
Kitchen & dining
The fully equipped kitchen holds everything you need for home‑cooked meals, from a hearty breakfast to a cozy dinner. A dining table nearby makes it simple to share meals together without leaving the cabin.
Outdoor living
The backyard and deck provide room to spread out, and a fire pit offers a warm gathering spot as the sun sets. The outdoor hot tub is a year‑round favorite, perfect for soaking under the open sky after a chilly hike. A grill is available for those who enjoy cooking outdoors when the weather permits.
Family & pet friendly
Children’s books, toys and kid‑size dinnerware are stocked for little guests. The property is pet‑friendly for dogs, with a spacious yard for play, but cats are not allowed.
Practical comforts
A washer and dryer, bathroom essentials and a bathtub make longer stays easy. Free parking on the premises, a private entrance and self‑check‑in with a lockbox add flexibility to your arrival.
Neighborhood & attractions
A short walk brings you to the Shenandoah River, offering scenic views in every season. Downtown Luray and the famous Luray Caverns are about a ten‑minute drive, with restaurants, breweries, shops and seasonal festivals nearby. Shenandoah National Park and surrounding mountain scenery are close, making the cottage an ideal base for exploring the area.

We loved staying there. It was beautiful and the hot tub was a great extra to relax!! The bed and mattress were perfect for me. I slept like a baby. Highly recommend it.

Updated cottage, perfect for visiting Luray sights
The cottage is pretty new, and the hot tub and fire pit were great. We had young kids, and a dog with us and all were comfortable. We visit the caverns and made s'mores. Would stay again!
We had a lovely stay, and the property was great for my dogs because it was fully fenced. We enjoyed the hot tub, but it would have been nice to have been given more towels. They would get so wet from using them after the hot tub and smell like chlorine, so I would have to wash them before we could shower. There were a few issues in the house that came up, like the toilet seats really needed replacing, and the dishwasher wasn't working until I contacted the owner and found that the water to the dishwasher wasn't turned on. That was a strange thing to encounter. I'm not sure why that would be turned off in the first place. All in all, we had a great time and would return.
We loved our time in this sweet cabin nestled in the woods. It was clean and updated. The host was responsive and helpful. It’s close to Shenandoah and Luray Caverns!

Nice Stay
We appreciate the nice stay. It is a solid and well equipped cabin that slept our family very comfortably. Hit all the basics, and the owner/management team was generally responsive and friendly. We missed a little of the scenic magic of some of the other local properties we have visited, but that shouldn't diminish anyone's view on the quality of the cabin or experience.

The cottage was clean and comfortable. We rented it for a quick family trip and it was perfect. The host was accommodating however be mindful that check out is at 10 am unlike other locations which give you until 11 am. The river access mentioned is a quarter mile away about 12 minute walk or two minute drive. The water is stagnant and has a odor.
This cabin fit exactly what we needed. It was in a central location to all of our weekend activities, and the cabin had plenty of space for everyone (8 adults). While it was in a quiet area, some of the neighbors dogs definitely don't know what quiet time is. And since we went in the winter, the trees separating the backyard from the neighbors back yard were bare. Meaning we could see directly into their house and they could definitely see us. Overall a great weekend!

High Grass
For a last minute deal the property was exactly as listed. The yard is huge but the grass wasnt cut. Half of the yard had high grass and the rest of the yard wasnt too bad but needed a cut. I had my dogs and grandkids so I was concerned about snakes from the high grass. There is no real river access that we found, but you are near the river that has public boat access. You are also in a good area for most of the activities like tubing, horse riding and luray caverns. I would stay here again, but would ask when the last time the grass was cut. I really didnt like my dogs in that high grass and it was hard to keep them out of it. The gost offered an wxtra night at a discount, i asked them to take off 18
This house met our needs and was a good location to do things in Luray and at Shenandoah National Park. The house was very clean, but the yard needed mowed when we arrived, there was garbage left in the yard. Our dog enjoyed the yard, but we were surprised to see barbed wire around the perimeter fence. We needed to watch him closely because of this. Online communication was good. We enjoyed the games, hot tub, and spacious layout of the house.

Thanks again for staying with us. We’d love to welcome you back anytime. :)
The location was nice and quiet. It was fairly secluded, and the backyard was closed off with bushes. The cabin was clean; however, we found crumbs in one of the bunk beds and a few stains on the linens. One of the rooms had a window that wouldn't lock, but we were able to get it unstuck. The hot tub was warm, but it did not feel as clean as others we have tried. There were a lot of pots and pans and cooking utensils available.

Great location and Cozy
It was a great location and had a good amount of space. The bunk beds were queen AND a double on top, so bigger than anticipated. Heating was great and location was beautiful.Challenges: The TV wouldn't let us log in to our netflix, amazon or hulu accounts so we were limited, and the parental controls on the wifi seemed to be on as well. The hot tub was warm, but we were unable to get the display on and use it effectively, which was hard because it was a main reason for selecting the property. We followed the video instructions and communicated, but there was a snowstorm starting a day later, and no one was able to come before we checked out. A great place, just need to ensure the hot tub is working properly if that matters to you.
Overall we had a good experience. Communication with the owner/manager was really smooth and clear. Check in/out was simple. The jacuzzi was really clean and nice. The property wasn't quite as updated as I expected from the pictures; this clearly was an older home in need of a lot of updates, and they did just enough to make it presentable for a vacation rental. For example, the walls have been painted, but the ceilings have not (the dark stain of years of stove use is clear in the kitchen), and the painting is sloppy- there are splatters of colored paint on the ceiling, for example. There are new floors and appliances, but the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry is quite old (and they need new shower curtains!) Nevertheless, the furnishing is new and bright, the beds are comfortable, and the bedding and towels are nice. The kitchen is fairly well equipped, and I appreciated the labeling on all the light switches! The rooms are spacious and air conditioning worked well for our August visit. We didn't feel comfortable using the fire pit outside because the grass was too overgrown (too many opportunities for ticks!) Overall, we had a good experience, and the house provided a good home base for explorations of Luray, Shenandoah National Park, and the surrounding areas.
I had an amazing stay. The property was decorated very nicely and was very clean. I loved the hot tub, new grill and fire pit. I sincerely appreciated all the extra supplies provided and the communication with the host was excellent. I would absolutely return for a future stay.
We have a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage. Great location, and everything was new. Would recommend!

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Ellery Cottage in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
