Family-Friendly 5-Star Riverfront Home

Privacy meets proximity with our “Little Big Sky" Guest home that's perfect for families and groups of many sizes. Our log-style home sits on 6 private riverfront acres with a raw stone outdoor fire pit, surrounded by 360-degree views of the Spanish Peak mountain range in the beautiful resort of Big Sky, Montana. Our 4BR, 3BA modernized cabin-style home sits just 75 ft above the Gallatin River (west fork) with a short hike down to the river's edge. The property offers a private, peaceful setting with an expansive yard and large bin packed with family-friendly games. Our home feels private, it sits in close proximity to Big Sky attractions and activities including horseback, skiing, fly fishing, hiking, golf, shopping, whitewater rafting and more.

The house is located just 2 miles from the main Town Center and the ski slopes are only an 8-mile drive. The west entrance to Yellowstone Park is only a 50-minute drive.


The property features river access, a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, a newly renovated fully-equipped kitchen, a 7-person hot tub, a vast open yard and acres of sage and pine trees. The cabin sleeps 8 adults (4 queen beds) and 2 children (1 stacked bunk bed).

This is a rare property in that it includes 1200 feet of private fishable river frontage on the West Fork of the Gallatin River. The property is only two miles from the fabled main Gallatin River (featured in 'A River Runs Through It') for fly fishing, hiking and Class 3 whitewater rafting. Activities include blue ribbon fly-fishing, whitewater rafting on the Gallatin, scenic gondola ride to top of Lone Peak, biking, hiking, nearby playgrounds and parks, float tubing the Madison River, golf, horseback and zip lining. Winter activities: skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country and sleigh rides. The new BASE Recreation Center is open year-round and offers day passes for workouts, rock wall climbing, yoga and spin classes and art activities, all just two miles from the cabin.

Our home is cozy, comfortable and well-equipped, and we have many families stay with us. We welcome you to join the many other guests that have made Little Big Sky their destination for vacations in all seasons.

Charming home in a good location fairly near town but with privacy, nice views, and creek access. Worked very well for our small group. It would also be good for older kids and had plenty of indoor space. Well-equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. Helpful, responsive owner. Highly recommended - we'd stay again.

Fantastic property with gorgeous views! Well appointed, terrific hot tub and surprise bench to relax by the river! Cozy cabin for two but enough room for a crowd. Great location in area that has so much to offer.

Home was really clean and comfortable. Situated on a pretty Pierce of land with lots of privacy and a lovely Creek in the backyard. The hot tub was impeccably clean and was great at the end of a full day. Walking distance to shops, markets and restaurants. Enjoyed our stay very much!

Great Everything!

Paul's place was great start to finish for our group of guys on a ski trip. Fireplace, hot tub, fast internet, grill, Bluetooth sound system, plenty of room to relax. Will definitely be back.

Little Big Sky

This was a beautiful, well located property. The view of Lone Mountain from the living room is stunning. After long ski days, the jacuzzi was much appreciated. Big Sky Village Center and ski resort are conveniently nearby. We made meals and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. Little Big Sky home is worthy of coming back year after year.

Magic in the Mountains

Beautiful location just outside of Big Sky. Amazing view of the mountain from the hot tub. Easy walk to the Gallatin River with a bench overlooking it and the sound of rushing water over rocks. Very peaceful and great location for my young family.

Montana Trip

We loved Little Big Sky! The cabin was close to everything yet very private. We were vacationing with a group of friends and after a busy day of hiking it was so nice to relax in the hot tub and have a fire. We enjoyed the fire pit outside and the indoor fire place. We would stay here again. Marcia

Big Sky Cabin

We truly enjoyed our visit to Montana, this cabin made it even better. The cabin was beautiful and fully equipped. The outside views were amazing. We saw deer every morning come by the house . It was close to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons . Our host was wonderful.. we hope to go back again.. perfect

New Year’s Eve in Big Sky

We met our family after Christmas for a week of skiing and relaxing in Big Sky. We had a wonderful time with our family. We skied, cooked, played games, built snowmen and soaked in the hot tub. The host was really responsive and answered all our questions. We would love to come back to this cabin in the summer for fishing. It is the perfect place for two families.

Big Sky Adventures

The home is in the perfect location just outside Big Sky Town Center yet you feel like you are out in the wilderness. The property is beautiful with river access and open space and view of Lone Mountain. The house has everything including a brand new kitchen.

Great Cabin, Comfortable Stay

Comfortable home, all amenities provided needed to make traveling easy, hot tub is clean, location is good... about 15 minutes to the mountain and only a few minutes to restaurants/store. Even had fire wood nicely stacked with kenneling wood/paper/lighter ready. The home was very clean as well! The owner Paul was was very responsive should you have any questions through out the stay.

Great cabin on the creek.

We truly enjoyed our time and stay at “Little Big Sky”! The cabin was well stocked and just as we had hoped it would be. Everything worked and looked great and the setting was very pretty. Paul, the owner was responsive and professional. If your looking for a cabin by a creek in the mountains in lower Big Sky this place will not disappoint.

Coziest cabin in the most convenient location

We absolutely loved our stay at Little Big Sky cabin! It is so conveniently located to everything and everywhere we wanted to visit. Snowboarding up at Big Sky resort is just a short drive away and West Yellowstone is not too far either. The best part is that the cabin absolutely feels private and secluded from rest of the world even being so close to the town center. After a long day out, we definitely took advantage of the hot tub and fireplace. We could not have asked for a better experience!

Location was fantastic with easy access to everything. Skiing , food , snowshoeing, snowmobiling. Snowball fights, hot tub. Paul was great and made sure we had a Christmas tree stand at the house. Fantastic host. Used his car on Turo as well which was a great feature.

Serene beauty, home away from home!

Perfection in every way. From the beginning, Paul was attentive and helpful. The property is amazing. It is secluded and private, yet very close to town and many amenities. The house was super clean, well organized and well appointed. Wildlife in the yard was a treat, as was the river just steps away. The views of Lone Peak were stunning as well. I highly recommend this property!

Great property.

Very nice property that is clean and had everything we needed for 8 adults over two weeks. Communication with Paul was excellent. The GMC vehicle option is nice. The only slight downside is that you cant really fish on the property, but there are tons of options very close. Groceries in Big Sky are pretty pricey. We stocked up in Bozeman which is only 45 minutes or so away. We had a wonderful trip and would highly reccomend The Little Big Sky.

Great Property

Booked last minute to ski Big Sky. Property as advertised. Bedrooms are pretty basic, but having the capability of 4 separate rooms with queen sized beds is great. The kitchen was brand new and well-stocked. Lots of windows in the living room and breakfast area provided spectacular views when it wasn’t snowing. Would be a great summer rental as well with large front porch.Best part was the moose who greeted us upon arrival. I think she was as surprised to see us as we were to see her, but it was a really cool experience to have her walk right in front of the porch while unloading our bags. Would 10/10 stay here again

Great relaxing Cabin!!!

Paul is a great host with quick response to any questions I had. All the amenities you will ever need when your away from home, great location to town! Love the working hot tub. Woke up to make coffee, opened the shade above the kitchen sink to have a huge sweet mama moose and her baby eating the flowers in front of the porch (so cool!!), You don't see that in Florida EVER, so of course I was thrilled. Will defiantly stay again. Everyone in our party loved the home. Oh I forgot to mention the awesome creek on the property we hung out at. thank you again Paul

Montana get away

We could not have asked for a better host than Paul. He provided us with local recommendations and insight that you won’t find with other VRBOs. The personal touch was great! The cabin has all the accommodations that two families of five would need. We fit comfortably and had great time off our devices speaking to each other face to face … refreshing! We enjoyed skiing, dog sledding, and fly fishing. All world class. Thanks Paul! Hope to get back to Montana soon!

Little Big Sky Cabin = Great Big Sky Cabin

My family and I can't say enough good things about the Little Big Sky cabin. It is in a great location; close to Big Sky but with plenty of privacy. The cabin had more than enough room for the six of us, a fireplace that we took advantage of and a hot tub that was awesome. Sitting in the hot tub with a view of Lone Mountain in the distance and snow falling was priceless. We also enjoyed exploring the river that borders the property. There are plenty of activities close by if you so desire or stay in and enjoy the amenities at the cabin. The entire setting was more than we had hoped for. Paul was great to work with during the entire process and check-in/check-out was very simple. I would recommend the Little Big Sky cabin to anyone looking to spend some quality time in a beautiful location.

What began as a father-son fishing trip in 1988 to Big Sky soon became a family tradition for over 35 years. In 1998, we finally found a perfect spot on the west fork of the Gallatin River in the heart of Big Sky to make our vacation home. In 2005, the home was fully renovated top to bottom.

We love sharing this secluded slice of Big Sky with our guests and hope you make many new memories here with family and friends just as we have over the years.

The Little Big Sky Cabin is near to our hearts as we celebrate our third decade of visiting Big Sky as an extended family. We pride ourselves in our vacation home and are looking for caring, responsible families or groups that will treat it as a special place of their own. We have had many families and groups of friends enjoy our property over the years and each has left a special note in our guest book.

We love that Little Big Sky offers both the ability escape in the tranquil setting by the river, or to dive into everything Big Sky has to offer within a short drive. Whichever you choose (hint: do both!), we wish you a wonderful stay!
