Very relaxing time at Lake Emory

We enjoyed our stay at the Lil piece of Heaven cabin. The inside has been updated with all new amenities. The beds were super comfortable and clean sheets. The view of the lake is nice. The fireplace is great. Marion is a quick response host. We would stay here again. Only thing of note is you have to take your trash with you when you leave. The landfill that is listed was closed on a Sunday. So we had to take it with us.

We enjoyed our stay! The home was clean and in order. The lower part of the house needed a bit more cleaning as there were cob webs and spiders.The chair lift to the lowered unit was out of order and the stairs being very steep a couple of us older folks could not use them..The owners quickly responded to our concerns. The view of the lake was very nice in the mornings with the reflection of the colorful trees on the water! A nice way to start your day with a cup of coffee!

Beautiful View

The house was very nice with a beautiful view of the lake. Would love to come back when its a little warmer to check out the lake and the other amenities. The hosts were very responsive and helpful the internet went down the first night and they were immediately calling the internet company.

Our stay

We had an enjoyable time at Lil Piece of Heaven. The owner’s idea of creating a place that can be used by those with differing abilities is a fantastic idea. We loved sitting on the porch and enjoying the weather. The owner, her idea and her property were great. I was going to contact the owner about some issues but had a death in the family and got busy. I believe the owner is not getting what she expects from her property manager. The cleanliness of the property when we arrived had two issues which I fixed. The beautiful lawn, access to the lake , etc that you see in the photos is not still the same. The gardens are overgrown, the statues in the yard, of which there are many, are all turned over and in disarray. The gutters are full. There is a large piece of aluminum roofing laying out on the grass and when the acorns here it it sounds like a gunshot. The water line was grown up so sitting on the dock was uncomfortable and we decided not to try and launch the boat. Something I had looked forward to. The fire pit was a mess and not usable. The manager had messed with the internet system and so the TVs, all of them were a mess. One worked sort of. The problem Truly isn’t the property or the owner but the maintenance and caretaker.

Like heaven!

Quiet beautiful location in a very comfortable home. I fully enjoyed the week supplied kitchen. The porch view was peaceful watching the tree reflections on the lake. I'd love to stay again.

Best rental I've stayed in!

The property was very clean and in a great location, central to everything you'd want to do in Franklin. The owner has thought of everything down to the smallest detail to make your stay great. The ramp to the lake is a long one but it meant a lot to have my dad be able to fish with the family. We will definitely stay here again.

This really is a Lil' Piece of Heaven!

We truly enjoyed our stay at this home. The owners have totally updated the inside. There is ample room and lots of little touches that make the home feel inviting and cozy. The best part is the view of Lake Emory from the rear screened in deck. It's so beautiful & peaceful. I highly recommend this home to anyone planning a visit to Western North Carolina!!

Cozy Christmas

This cozy cabin by the river had all the right touches for our family Christmas getaway. It was a warm rainy week so we had no opportunity to use the fire pit, but the sound of rain on the metal roof was pretty nice. The cabin was well appointed for our stay. We will definitely book again next time we are in the area.

Lots of little touches that add up to a lot

House was immaculate. Communication with owner was clear cut and responsive. No problems with check in. Good location on Lake Emory and very near grocery stores and a super Walmart. Nice lakeside view. The kitchen had at least one of everything (3 corkscrews!) including spices, ground coffee and wine. Beds were comfortable, linens were nice. Nice water pressure and temperature in showers, multi-ply toilet paper. Couldn't really ask for more! Can definitely recommend!

Awesome experience!

Marion and Bud are excellent hosts. I have stayed in several properties and this one is the best. The home is very comfortable and well equipped for our stay. Marion adds lots of little extra such as toiletries Incase you forget yours. Lavender spray for our pillows, etc. The decor is excellent and cozy. My husband was able to access the fishing using his walker...something he has not been able to do for awhile. He was also safe in the roll in shower. Having a bedroom and TV downstairs allowed our friends to have some privacy during the sty. This home will not disappoint!

Visiting my son in Franklin

This is one of the most comfortable homes I have rented. Two master bedrooms on the main level worked out great as I traveled with my aunt. No stairs needed. Comfortable furniture and beds. Felt like home. We will definitely be renting again next year. Loved it.

An Oasis Within the City

Since I use a manual wheelchair, it is very difficult to find a lakeside rental that gives me access to the water's edge. The well-made ramp that leads down from the home's lower level makes sitting by the lake possible. So, my husband and I spent our mornings sitting on the dock reading books and watching the geese and ducks swim by. If you use a wheelchair, there are two ways to get access to the ramp 1) riding on a stairlift (a seat that will not accommodate a wheelchair so someone will need to carry the wheelchair down the stairs) or 2) drive down to the lower level (the driveway is too steep to wheel down/up). My husband chose not to carry my wheelchair down the stairs, so we always drove down the driveway to get to the ramp. On the lower level there is a nice table and chairs to have your meals alfresco, and a large room that has a nice bathroom, area for kids to play, and a movie projector and screen. The reason why I didn't give this little oasis a 5-star rating is the road noise. The street that passes in front of the house has a lot of traffic during the day (dump trucks, motorcycles, etc.) that takes away from the peacefulness of the property. But after five and on the weekends, the noisiness lessens.

Porch Sitting

We really enjoyed our stay in Franklin NC. Everything was just as the pictures show, clean, well kept, and comfortable. The screened porch looking at the river is where we spent most of our time. So relaxing. We ordered a meal at Haywood Smokehouse and it was very good BBQ

This park like setting has great fishing from the back yard! Beautiful ramp to the lake. Broadband internet with hard connect computer available. Porch swings in the front and back. Washer dryer on lower level with additional kitchenette, full bath & bedroom & bunk beds. It really is a Lil' Piece of Heaven!
