Welcome to Cabañas Caeli, where three lush acres of paradise await your exploration. Here, privacy is paramount, yet we seamlessly blend the beauty of the outdoors with our inviting interiors. Our cabins boast expansive glass windows that blur the lines between indoor comfort and nature. El Congo cabin has two bedrooms and one bathroom on the top level, and a bedroom suite on the lower level with its own TV, kitchenette and bathroom.

With the rainforest at your doorstep, explore our 1 km private rainforest trail leading to a natural spring swim hole, perfect for a refreshing dip beneath the canopy and unwind in the garden hot tub, Enjoy spotting wildlife like howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, and butterflies.

Wander our beautiful gardens, enjoy the city/mountain views, get creative and paint a rock to leave your stamp in our rock garden, and do a self guided yoga session in the yoga area where you will be surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Whether you’re craving adventure or deep relaxation, every moment here invites you to slow down and experience Costa Rica’s true Pura Vida.

Our property is a small collection of very private cabins thoughtfully spaced for privacy and located on a mountain with an unpaved gravel road. Expect a bumpy but beautiful ride to paradise. A high-clearance SUV/AWD/4x4 vehicle is required for an optimal travel experience.

Amazing Location

Beautiful spot and a gracious, accommodating host

Pablo was a very gracious and helpful host, which made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The spot is beautiful, with amazing views and plenty of wildlife. The kids all loved the swimming hole and hot tub, and it was fun to cook on an open fire. The cabin was comfortable for two families (total of 9 people), and was well equipped.

A great time in the rain forest

Pablo is a great host.We enjoyed staying in his glass cabin and our first day we did his culture tour.We met great local people in the area. So many outdoor things to do and people are kind and always willing to explain the ways of living amd history of the La Fortuna area.We would highly recommend a stay at his place

The most magical property in Costa Rica

Hidden gem in the rainforest

We were looking to have an experience of being in the actual rainforest with beautiful views - and we got it! The drive up is a little rugged, but it is worth it. We loved the jacuzzi, swimming hole, and all the wildlife that surrounded the property! Not to mention the views! I hope to someday come back and visit. Pablo was a fantastic host!

Perfect stay with amazing views

We loved our stay. We had 4 adults and 4 kids (9,11,12,14) and it was a great spot for us. We used the outdoor fire pit, sat on the porch each morning and night among the frogs and birds, and spent each day hiking the backyard down to the waterfalls and springs. I don’t think you’ll find a personal trail better than the one you’ll find at this property. Save the time it takes to drive to some other hikes and soak in the great property. Inside was extremely clean and property manager was always on call with quick response time.

Exactly what we were looking for.... And more!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The property was incredible and had so many features (swimming hole, jungle hike, pavilion with grill/fire pit, hot tub) plus all the animal watching we got to do! Pablo and his family put a lot of time and energy into every detail and we appreciated every last bit, down to the fresh fruit display ready upon our arrival. If we ever get the chance to come back to Costa Rica, we will absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location.

We’re a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children) who recently spent 5 nights at Cabanas Caeli. The location is beautiful, definitely recommend a 4x4 to get to the property. The property itself is stunning and was well equipped with everything we needed. Pablo and Jenny were great hosts. They responded to any questions very promptly and suggested things that the family may like to do. We enjoyed walking through their little rainforest and the hot-tub after long day! Absolutely incredible property! Cabanas Caeli is like your own private jungle treehouse. The pictures do not do it justice. We loved every minute of our 4 nights at this property. We enjoyed the hot tub, water hole, BBQ area, as well as bird watching. Additionally, Pablo is truly an amazing host, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless. Cannot say enough great things about Pablo and Cabanas Caeli. If this property is available, recommend you book it immediately!

Great Time at El Congo

Our family of four had a great time at El Congo. The cabin was clean and well-stocked, and the landscaping was beautiful. We enjoyed the onsite trail, the swimming hole, the hot tub, and hammock. The sights and sounds were peaceful. The soda a short walk away served wonderful local cuisine. The road in is long and very rough, but the drive was well worth it. We recommend waterfall rappelling through Pure Trek, which takes place less than a mile from El Congo. Pablo was a gracious host - we plan to come back.

Authentic rainforest cabin with beautiful views surrounded by nature and tranquility

Our family of 5 (3 children) stayed at Cabanas Caeli for 4 days. We have enjoyed the support and guidance of the owner Pablo with the neighboring restaurant and farm, to keep connected while totally submerged in a rainforest and nature. Compounds are large and beautifully landscaped. There is a custom built jacuzzi and entertainment area with swings and hammocks and fire pit. We were able to achieve the right balance of being connected in the high tech cabin while disconnecting with surrounding nature. Puretrek and Desaficio local adventure companies are nearby. Highly recommended for people seeking adventurous and authentic experience.

A Hidden Gem in the Rainforest

This place exceeded all our expectations! Nestled in a peaceful setting surrounded by lush rainforest and stunning landscaping, it offered the perfect retreat. The hot tub was a highlight for our group, especially during the day when it was cooler and perfect for the kids. It provided a relaxing way to soak in the serene atmosphere.We also appreciated thoughtful touches like the swings and BBQ area, which added to the charm, and the host's preparation with umbrellas for the rain made us feel well cared for.However, be aware that the road leading up to the property is quite rough. A 4x4 with high clearance is a must, and while our Toyota RAV4 managed just fine, it’s a longer drive than expected, making quick trips to town less convenient. That said, the tranquility and beauty of this location are absolutely worth it!Would definitely stay here again and I will recommend it to all of our friends and family!

The property and house are beautiful. You truly feel like you are right in the jungle, although that also means that you might be woken by howler monkeys at 6am a couple of days. It was worth it though. Having our own fire pit and the hot tub right next to the house was a big bonus. The road up to the house is VERY rough, and takes about 15 minutes from the main road turn off. We kind of knew that going in, because the listing and property owner do warn you. We had smaller 4x4 cars and we were definitely pushing them to the limits, but it was part of the adventure for us. If you are someone who like to run to town and back several times a day, though, this might not be the house for you. The owner was extremely responsive, and we all had a great time.

It's a jungle out there!

This place simply could not be beat. Our teenager made us the lucky ones and found this jewel a week before our CR trip. Wonderful host, spotless home, gorgeous views, spectacular property. We went in June the five of us w. my sister & boys. We couldn't have been more pleased w/ our surroundings. The kiddos watched JUNGLE CRUISE at night while the adults absorbed God's goodness in the heart of the beautiful jungle. Sounds were also super exciting and new! Sounds we have never heard! Our only regret was not staying 3-4 days. We had to return to our resort. This was the best last min reservation we could make, so very grateful my family and I experienced this dreamy home. We hope to be back very soon!! Oh! Be sure to look out for the STUNNING sunrise out the master bedroom window!!!

Amazing!

We stayed here in August '23 and it is really special. The property is about 3 acres, it has a hot-tub and a firepit and has it's own nature walk down to a swimming hole. The house is well equipped, A/C, good shower, and a spectacular view. Pablo is a great host. He was really friendly and the little details he had added (like a basket of fruit and fresh coffee) made it very welcoming. It's a great location to explore the Arenal area - the waterfall is definitely worth a visit (even with the 500 steps back up.) La Fortuna is close and has some great places to eat and stock up on supplies. Definitely worth visiting 'El Nido' which is within walking distance and has views of Arenal, a giant swing and we saw lots of Toucans! The last 2 KM of road to get here is not in great shape, although there is a plan to have it fixed. We had rented a 4x4 for the trip, and we were glad we did. But this place is definitely worth it. Excellent choice for secusion and privacy

Our stay at Cabanas Caeli was excellent. The inside was clean and as advertised. Although we had mostly rainy days while we were there, the few brief times that things cleared up led to some absolutely incredible views. The property is gorgeous and extremely well maintained. Although we didn't see any sloths or monkeys on our trip, we did have several visits from the cows in the adjoining pastures and many birds. I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone staying here rents a 4x4/AWD vehicle, as the road up to Caeli is very rocky, steep, and takes about 10 minutes to get up. A couple members of our party had some motion sickness issues going up and down it but I found it manageable as long as you take it slow. There is a great little restaurant called Nido within walking distance with excellent views of the volcano, but just be aware their hours are flexible and they were often closed by 7pm. All in all a great stay and would highly recommend.

The pictures don’t do it justice

The property does not disappoint! It is an idyllic setting with the rainforest servicing as your back-door neighbor. The views are amazing and the house is perfect for a family/friends or couples to share. You are removed enough to enjoy nature, sipping coffee in the morning from the upper balcony, watching birds and butterflies flitter around the forest and gardens while the sounds of toucans fly by overhead to perch in a tree and chatter. it is a peaceful, restful place to start and end your day of adventures. The hosts, Pablo, and his wife are wonderful hosts, going above and beyond in making us feel welcome and also drove us into town on one night, The road to the Cabanas can be a bit daunting, and rustic is an understatement, but it adds to the adventure, and most drivers we used were familiar with the property. Paulo supplied a cab company contact and we were able to pre-arrange pick-up times they were always prompt. Overall an amazing time with my family and we will certainly come back. TEN Stars if I could. Thank you both for your amazing hospitality, and the personal touch with the painted rock message that did not go unnoticed. A great memento for my Sister and Brother-in-law to remember their first time on Costa Rica!

gorgeous little slice of costa rica

The 3.5 kms from La fortuna to property is pavement part of the way and gravel for the balance . BUT once you reach the property you will be blown away. The grounds are beautiful with a 1 km trail through the jungle. There is a small swimming hole near the half way point that I went in. Very refreshing. We saw a sloth up in a tree near the top of the trail.( we saw one from our balcony along with a howler monkey and some Toucans) In a lower section of the grounds just a 50 metre walk from the house is a recreation area. There is a fire/barbecue pit, a cement floor with a big table for having dinner , smaller table and also a bathroom on this site. All 3 spots I just mentioned are covered so you can sit there rain or sunshine. The house has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen and living area on the main floor. Kitchen area is small as is the living area BUT it worked for us. There is a deck off the living area where you can sit morning or night and listen to the birds. There is also a separate suit below main floor with a bed, a hot plate and a bathroom with a shower. A great extra living space that we did not use as we are 2 middle aged couples and didn't need it . we really enjoyed ourselves and had a great typical breakfast at the restaurant 150 metres from the property . All in all, a great stay for us. Thanks again Pablo for a great stay. PS he also has a very cool looking hot tub that was unfortunately under repair and would have been running the day we left. Oh well, Next time.
