This was a great stay for my wife, 1 year, and me. There's so much to do in the area if you enjoy the outdoors, or just need a quiet getaway. Caleb was very helpful with anything that we needed and advice on what to do with a bust baby when it rained and all we had planned was outdoor activities. The washer and dryer were great ammenities to have, and the gardens were fun to look at. The proximity to the E. branch of the Ausable was great, especially being so close to a historic landmark in the covered bridge. 10/10 would recommend and stay again. We were only sorry we didn't have more time to be there.
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. Caleb was always prompt to respond any questions we had.
The cottage was cute and comfortable for myself and two friends. The location for us was perfect to watch the Ironman race. A gem of a spot and i would definitely stay again
Beautiful modernized cottage overlooking a river in the heart of the Adirondacks. Close to everything but you avoid the crowds in Lake Placid. Our hosts went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. They were a pleasure to talk to and recommend some good restaurants nearby.
Caleb’s cottage and grounds are beautiful. The cottage is newly renovated and the gardens and location on the river are outstanding. However these great qualities are hindered by the glampers bathroom that is attached to the cottage and is located right next to the cottage bedroom. At all hours of the day and night the campers shower and bang around in the bathroom.
This cottage was perfect for our long weekend in the mountains. It was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. The pictures really don’t do it justice, in my opinion. Our favorite spot was the screened-in back porch with the river view. Great place to relax with dinner and a drink after a long day of hiking! Caleb and Eleri are welcoming and gracious hosts. It did take us approximately 40 minutes to get to the Loj trailhead parking, but we thought it was worth it to stay in such a beautiful place. Highly recommend!
Our stay at the cottage was lovely! The cottage is super cute and feels like a cozy English cottage. No surprise here as Eleri is from the UK. Caleb and Eleri were very hospitable.
The proximity to the river and the view down the valley were unforgettable. We absolutely loved sitting on the screened in porch listening to the sound of the tree frogs and watching the lightning bugs. There's even an outdoor speaker, fan and dining table which makes for an incredible evening.
The kitchen is very big relative to the cozy cottage size and it has modern appliances. The bedroom is extremely comfortable and nice and dark which helped us sleep soundly.
It was about a 150 ft walk down the hill to the cottage, but this also gave it beautiful seclusion and its own unique view and perspective. The gravel on the pathway was very compact so we could roll our suitcases on it so it wasn't such a big deal.
We highly recommend this little slice of paradise tucked by the Ausable River right next to the covered bridge.

Maisonnette exceptionnellement bien décorée et équipée.
Secteur hyper tranquille entre boisé, rivière et champ. Cerfs devant la porte le matin. Hôte sympathique. Petit nid douillet pour couple.
This beautiful cottage was exactly what I needed to relax, and enjoy the natural beauty of the mountains.
Everything I needed was already there, and the hosts were fabulous and so friendly.
The cottage is right on the river, overlooking the mountains. In the evenings, I sat in the screened in porch, enjoying the the fireflies and stars, which were incredible!
If you are looking for somewhere that is unbelievably idyllic, with some hidden wellness optional extras - I indulged and it really was worth it

About the host
Hosted by Caleb Smith
I am a local to the Adirondack region, while my wife Eleri is from Wales. We are both passionate about all things natural which you will be immersed in while on our "farm and vineyard." Eleri is a passionate horticulturalist and herbalist in her day job, while I coach the US Olympic skeleton team. We enjoy meeting our guests and are very open, but also respect that some people just want some quiet privacy and our property provides exactly that.
Why they chose this property
Jay is centrally located, but just outside of the hustle and bustle. It's a gorgeous agricultural valley with a thriving music and arts scene. Everything is a short drive, but in Jay we have views and peace that can't be beat!
What makes this property unique
Our property sits directly on the Ausable river by the covered bridge. It is covered in orchards, vineyards and gardens as well as commanding views of the valley, river and high peaks. The towns top swimming hole sits just below the cottage. You are steps away from summer music at the Jay green or Amos ward theater, and a quick drive to some of the best hiking and restaurants in the area.
