Due to fluctuating tap water quality in the Village of Surfside Beach, it is recommended to bring bottled water for drinking and/or cooking during your stay. During times of elevated water contaminants, water coming from the faucets and toilets may have a yellow tint. The water is safe for bathing.

Beach house - walking steps to water

As a former employee of this industry, I do have certain standards and expectations. I understand everywhere is different, (ie: location, amenities, home features, etc.) but I write this as a constructive review for this area. I will start with the negatives just to get them out of the way. Walking onto the porch and only seeing one plastic Adirondack chair was really disappointing. The shower handles were so hard to move. Tv remotes barely worked or did not work at all. We also couldn’t find a remote to one of the tv’s. Once again, as stated in previous reviews, the couches were not plugged in. Nor were some of the lights. We personally did not use the kitchen to the extend of its size. Couple cups here and there. The fridge is extremely small for the size of the house so just be aware before you buy groceries. The dryer was horrendously loud. The garage was an absolute disaster. Now for the positives. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Walking distance to the beach and beautiful views. Nice size house and rooms. Overall, fairly clean. I hope this helps the team as well as future guests.

The house needs TLC

The house had a view of the water and was a short walk to the cross over to the beach. The AC worked very well. It only had 3 chairs on the porch for a house that sleeps 9...2 were broken and 1 I fell when sitting on it. The house cleanliness was mediocre, 1 glass had mold on it, the coffee grounds were still in the coffee pot, some utensils were greasy, under the beds was not slept. The beds were not comfortable and the sheets felt like sand paper. The faucets in both showers were so hard to turn from being rusty. The sewer overflowed into thr yard and there was human feces and urine draining into thr outside shower. There was no exhaust pipe to exhaust whrn cooking so the cabinets were gross above the stove. The smoke detectors went off when we made toast...there was no smoke! The lamps were missing the knobs. One couch didn't have plug to power the recliners. Vacasa was notified of all the issues and noone came out to address any of them especially the sewer. No compensation or laye chexk out was offered for our troubles. Next time I will pay attention to the reviews and not rent from vacasa.

Crappy house in a great location

Nice electronic reclining sofas that were missing the power supply so they could not recline. Cute lamps in every room that were ALL missing the knobs to turn them on (some of these broken lamps were the only light source in the room). The dryer made such an insane noise that we had to assume it was broken and not use it. The few dishes in the cabinet were gross like they hadn't been washed at all. Beds were uncomfortable. The water from every tap and shower smelled like hot farts, which is not the fault of vacasa but made it extra disappointing when the water cooler in the photos of the house was not there. It is a great location if you don't plan to cook or hang out inside.
