We had a wonderful time staying at the Black Dog Lake house! They made sure to make our experience not only great for people but cozy and comfy for our dogs! Thanks again!
If this place is available, I highly recommend you book it for a vacation or a quiet getaway. Super easy check-in procedures, kitchen had essentials, clean, cozy, and great views. We will return during the peak season to enjoy the lake.

Black Dog Lake House was exactly as advertised. A nice property located in a secluded cove on Norris Lake. Well appointed, with separate living spaces for the adults and our teen son (who had the downstairs 'man cave' to himself). We really enjoyed the visit!
It was a great pet friendly place. The house was very nice and clean. My dogs could jump off the dock and enjoy the lake. The fire pit was a nice plus. I would definitely recommend for a quiet lake getaway. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need. The place was exactly as described on the website. Plan on coming back
Love being right on the lake (no stairs). Marina very close and also close to New Tazewell. Rented a pontoon boat for the week, and enjoyed being on the water, exploring the numerous small inlets for swimming and just kicking back on the boat. Our house was very comfortable with large deck area and all the amenities. Looking forward to next year.
We had a wonderful weekend at Black Dog Lake House. Beautiful setting, clean house, comfortable beds, plenty of space, and a welcome environment for our two dogs.
You think a lake house is ideal for a summer trip, and this one would certainly fit that bill. However, it was a perfect fit for our family time together at Thanksgiving.
My family and I had a wonderful time at this property. It was clean, well stocked and easy to get too. My dogs loved jumping off the dock! The lake was clean and the trees provided much needed shade. We also enjoyed the fire pit and even rented a boat. We also utilized the board games they had stocked downstairs. It was the perfect size for a family of five. Everything was great and we would love to come back again!
We had a group of adults and teens. House had plenty of room, was organized and well stocked with everything we needed! We rented a pontoon boat from Straight Creek Marina (nicest people ever!) and spent every day on the lake. It was nice to be at the quiet end of the lake for boating, swimming, tubing and jet skiing. We appreciated the ability to bring our dogs too...they loved it as much as we did! Would rent again for sure!

wonderful home! plenty of space for 3 couples. Large kitchen with all cookware we needed. Loved all the outdoor spaces - multiple decks, dock was great, and were able to use the firepit. would definitely recommend if looking for a quieter location - much less boat traffic. Marina is not as well stocked as others, but not a huge deal for us.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the black dog lake house! The home was clean and had just about everything we needed. We rented a boat from straight creek marina and got to explore the lake which is absolutely beautiful. The cove was great for the kid and dogs to swim and play with very little boat traffic. The area is quiet and we got to see some fun wildlife everyday. The walk to the dock is much better than most lake houses which was helpful for my older parents and with the dogs. The home was decorated adorably and it felt like home. We would definitely stay again!

Lake house
Nice property. Easy access to dock. Outside deck and stairs need some repairs, steps are not conforming to proper code. The two poles at each corner of the dock are very loose and dangerous. Master bathroom on main floor both cold water faucets leak. The cold water faucet on the right sink takes forever to get cold. The shower you need to turn on for 5 minutes to get warm unless you like very cold showers. There seems to be no lights in the upstairs bedrooms which makes it very dark and dangerous when you have small kids. Air conditioning seems to have a mind of its own you wake up in the morning and it's 78° upstairs. We should have been notified regarding the construction/logging across the street and making it almost impossible to get in the driveway especially when you have a full size pickup truck and there is no way to park on the street because of all the logs, contractors trailer, and construction. The large retaining blocks that they used almost prevented us from being able to get my full size truck down the driveway. Anyone with a boat I would recommend never taking it up there you will never get it turned around. We are very aware of the terrain/roads in the area due to building our own house in lone mountain shores several years ago which we sold a couple years ago. Also while watching the TV Saturday night the Rocu- Netflix went offline and could not get it back. This was brought to management by pictures showing the offline.
