I should have written this sooner! The property is beyond gorgeous. It’s well appointed, comfortable and you get to feel like you’re in another time. It was such an incredible find!
My family and I stayed here while in the area visiting relatives over the July 4th holiday. The home is beautifully maintained throughout. The accommodations are very welcoming. The furniture and decor throughout make it feel as though we went back in time during our stay.
I enjoyed the host’s personal check in and history of the property. The amenities were plentiful and welcoming. The property is better than the pictures. By far the best property I’ve ever stayed at. I really can’t say enough good things about the Big Red House!
The Big Brickhouse was perfect for our weekend for our stay for our son's wedding. We hosted all the guests after the rehearsal dinner on the front porch of the Big Brickhouse. Everyone loved the restored interior of the house. The host was super accommodating in that she offered us to use the glassware, tables, champagne stands, linens, etc. The house was more than just a stay it was an experience and the host was wonderful and went above and beyond. I recommend the Big Brickhouse! Maybe it will be an anniversary trip for my son!
I was amazed by The Big Brickhouse even before I entered the front door. I appreciated Norma greeting us upon arrival for a quick explanation of amenities and a tour of the massive home. The hosts thought of every detail to ensure a relaxing stay - from stocking the refrigerator with breakfast and beverages, providing bath salts beside the large soaking tub, to board games in the library. There was even a bottle of wine and a pair of wine glasses waiting for us on the dining room table. The comfortable bedding and plush bath towels were perfect at the end of a long, busy day.
The home's stunning architectural detail and furnishings provided the perfect backdrop for my daughter's bridal shower tea party. To not detract from the impressive beauty of the house, we decided not to use most of the planned decorations. The event space itself was lovely enough. Communication with the hosts was quick and seamless and I'm grateful to Shelley and Norma for making our special event and weekend stay even better than imagined. I would love to hold another event or stay at The Big Brickhouse again.
