Relaxing family get-away

Lovely spot to get away to. Beach is near by, and it was fun to have this comfortable home to relax and enjoy the warmth and the sea air. Hosts were thoughtful and very responsive, house is well equipped and well maintained.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Serenity was just amazing. I can't say enough about this wonderful property. It was amazingly clean with views from everywhere. It was very well equipped with everything we needed. This was the 7th house we have rented and although all were great, this one rates the best.Only one complaint. This home did not have cable TV. Being from the states, we could not stream cable so if you want to watch news, sports etc., you are out of luck. At the price, the owners need to address this issue.

Amazing property and great location!

We fell in love with the house and all the property had to offer. It is certainly even better in person than in the pictures online. Having the dock for the boat was more important than I initially thought. It was great location wise for short golf cart rides (a must to rent) into town, Tahiti Beach, Firefly, and the Abaco Inn etc.. Our favorite time of the day was to make sure we were home every night to view the sunset from the cabana. Spectacular! Our friends who live in Marsh Harbor said it was one of the nicest properties on Elbow Cay and we could not agree more. Thank you for being so hospitable and easy to work with as well. Hope to come back every year!!

Exceptional... Stunning... WOW!

My husband and four teenage children came to stay at Serenity during our Spring Break week. From the moment we arrived we were blown away. From the open living area where we all gathered to watch movies after a day of boating and exploring to the breathtaking views from just about every view point in the house- we fell in love. Within the first day I was begging my husband could we buy this house as our dream house. The pictures, while gorgeous, do not do justice to Serenity's beauty. There are unique special places throughout the property; like the pergola area where you can sit and have your morning coffee; the self contained reading (chill out) room that affords sunset views; the spacious pool deck and refreshing pool, the grill station adjacent to the pool, the dock space with its own jump off spot with ladder, and my favorite- the patio area that sits at the southwest portion of the property providing an unobstructed view of the magnificent sunset. The rooms were all cozy. The kitchen was nicer than the one at my own home... All in all, we left feeling refreshed. Happy. And Serene. The Location is by far stellar. The house absolutely organized for maximum comfort! The kitchen is Well appointed-with has sharp knives, first class ultra quiet dishwasher, great fridge and freezer, abundant fresh water. There is a glass walled reading room with its own air conditioners positioned on an observatory deck. This structure rests on the absolute tip of the pensula leading into the shallows of White sound/Sea of Abaco. The deck communicates 270° around the house providing shoeless access to the pool, outdoor shower, pool house and dock. Beauty, comfort, ease of use

A week in paradise

We have vacationed many times on Elbow Cay and the surrounding area over the last 40 years, but we are now forever spoiled. Serenity is as advertised, a home where everything you could possibly need or want has been provided, and a place you will not soon forget. The grounds are spectacular, with well thought out walkways which wind efficiently through the foliage. Flowers, bushes and trees lend the genuine feel of an arboretum, and every plant is perfectly maintained. We had a special appreciation for the stepped down dock design, which allows easy access into and out of the boat, as well as the surrounding water of White Sound for snorkeling. Every detail has been well thought out; even a carport for the golf cart just outside the front door. One day the electrical power for the whole island was out for about 7 hours, but the automatic generator started instantly, and we were not affected at all ! The interior spaces of Serenity are elegant and spacious, comfortable and welcoming....after most of our days spent boating and joyriding, the outdoor showers allowed us to rinse off the salt water before lounging in the lovely pool, where we found ourselves most every afternoon before our dinners. The Abaco Inn was by far our favorite, and it is less than five minutes by cart... if it has been some time since your last visit you will be pleasantly surprised by the remodeling and upgrades. The location of Serenity, situated on the tip of the peninsula, provides the ultimate in spectacular views, and is the quietest place I could imagine. To sum it all up, let me just say that we will be back. Count on it !

Expensive but worth it

This is the nicest house we have ever rented in the Abacos, and we have been renting here for over 20 years. Other than some doors that were hard to lock, everything worked perfectly and well. The house and grounds are designed in such a way that many people can find solitude and peace away from others. The grounds are beautiful with many coconut trees and exotic tropicals. The view is unprecedented and spans almost 270 degrees.

An incredible experience

I have sailed and traveled throughout the Bahamas since 1976 , and have been returning yearly to the Abacos for the past 12 years . Serenity is without a doubt the best property at which we have stayed ... the house is exceptionally well maintained , modern and has a great vibe . The location on White Sound is perfect , and the views are beautiful . We will be back ... maybe 2 or 3 weeks next time !!

Beautiful Home In Paradise on Elbow Cay

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to stay for the second time at Serenity this year. Another amazing vacation in paradise! We have been visiting the Abaco Islands for many years and have stayed at a couple of places, but feel like we have found our "home away from home" at Serenity. It is perfect for two couples, which is how we have stayed there. Plenty of privacy and plenty of gathering space. We love exploring the islands by boat during the day, but always look forward to returning to Serenity to enjoy time at the pool and home. The owners are marvelous to work with and are always quick to help in any way they can. Looking forward to many more years of visiting and staying at Serenity!

Best on Elbow Cay

This is one of the best properties on Elbow Cay. The house is spacious and impeccable, the grounds are unique and beautifully maintained. We loved the amenities -- the dock, pool and especially the amazing cabana overlooking the Sea of Abaco. A perfect place. Owners and caretakers are lovely and responsive. Rent a boat and explore!

Even More Beautiful In Person!

Our holiday week at Serenity went by too quickly! The entire experience was a pleasure. We have stayed in many VRBOs and this one had everything we needed and more! The kitchen was a dream, the layout of the house was perfect and the grounds were beautiful! Elbow Cay is a gem of an island. We look forward to many return trips to Serenity!

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation at Serenity. Already planning our return trip. This is the house for you if you want quiet and peaceful!! The house is perfect for 3 couples and well stocked. The outside space is FANTASTIC!! We used the cabana & deck EVERY morning for coffee & to watch the sun rise and the sunsets are amazing from this area. Having the boat dock was a big factor for our group. It was really nice to be able to have your boat right at your house. Snorkeling was good at the rock jetty right by the dock. Great food at Fireflys ....only a 5 minute golf cart trip. Shoot across to The Abaco Inn for appetizers.....We have three couples who travel together and all of the ladies turn 50 this year, (October, November & December) so this was the perfect birthday present from our husbands. Definitely a birthday that we will cherish the rest of our lives. Lots of memories and laughter and good times!!

Serinty house

We spent a week at Serenity last month and had a blast. This is our second time renting Serenity. It's hard to go anywhere else after staying here. The grounds are immaculate , house is very comfortable with views of the water from most rooms. Great dock , outdoor cooking area , nice pool . Several gazebos on site and hammocks .

Be Forewarned....

Excellent house...well-kept grounds...attentive housekeepers....superb docking facilities...convenient location to restaurants...HOWEVER with an abundance of impeccable views, solace and seclusion it can be extremely difficult to motivate your crew (and yourself). Morning coffee slips seamlessly into a mid-morning abyss and before you know it, a bite to eat and a rum drink are beckoning by the pool. Alas, your well-intended plans for the day have succumbed to the realization that whatever awaits beyond Serenity cannot possibly rival was lies within.

Best house we have rented in the Abacos thus far

My wife and I have been to the Abacos on numerous occasions - and this is by far the best house we have rented to date. Situated on the end of a peninsula, the property offers great privacy. The landscaping and exterior areas are what really separates this house from others - we spent plenty of time outdoors enjoying the various spots (pool, outdoor deck, gazebo, outdoor shower). Sunset views are excellent; the dock facilities were convenient and easy to operate our 26' rental boat. The caretakers, Donnie and Tricia were very helpful and available for any of our needs. My wife and I are already looking forward to returning next year.

Simply Outstanding - we'd give it a 6th star if we could....

Anyone who desires privacy, lush gardens, great docks, amenities galore, fantastic sunrises/sunsets, convenient location, and a first-class experience all around, should not miss this stunning home. We and our 3 children immensely enjoyed the kayaks, the pool, grilling and eating outdoors, and being fortunate enough to call Serenity our home for a week. Also, the caretakers, Tricia and Donnie, are wonderful and genuine - they went far beyond the call for us, and we are grateful for having met them. Go to Serenity and you will be delighted!

Beautiful setting.....wonderful relaxation!

Serenity lives up to her name. The setting is on the tip of a small peninsula in White Sound, so you are surrounded by water and beautiful grounds, it is private and quiet, and you can watch the boats go by and the sunset from the great decks around the house. The house itself is spacious, impeccably clean, and easy to live in. The kitchen is fully equipped and we enjoyed buying groceries from the stores on the island and making most of our own meals. There is an enclosed gazebo on the water that is a great place to sit and read with some protection from the wind and sun, yet feeling totally outside. The location mid-island works perfectly; one is 5-10 minutes from Hopetown to the north or Tahiti Beach to the south. We thought Serenity was perfect for our two families with teenagers. We all had our space, and no details is missing from this great property. We will be back!

Serenity

According to the dictionary the word "serenity" is a noun. It means the state or quality of being serene, calm, or tranquil; sereneness. This description describes the home, Serenity in White Sound, Elbow Cay, Bahamas perfectly. Our family discovered this beautiful rental home through VRBO a couple of summers ago. We have been visiting Hopetown with our three daughters ever since they were little girls, now they are all teenagers. Our family has rented Serenity for a couple of weeks each summer for several summers now. As soon as you arrive on the property, either by boat or by golf cart, you know that you have arrived to a magical place. We love that the house is at the end of the point overlooking White Sound. It has amazing views of the water from many vantage points on the property. The grounds of the property are very well maintained with lush, tropical flora. The expansive dock is very new and in great shape with easy access to docking your boat. There are also three kayaks on the dock to go exploring the surrounding waters. As you make your way up to the house, you might pass the pool which is always one of our favorite ways we end our days from being out on the water. There is also a very large outdoor shower which makes it convenient to clean up. Upon entering the home with its multi-tiered decking, you will see the beautiful, European style kitchen with its high end appliances. The décor is spectacular with hand painted flatware and whimsical cutlery. It makes cooking a breeze. There is even an herb garden on the property that you can get herbs from. The way the house is layed out, it is perfect for our family, each daughter gets her own bedroom and then they share a bathroom. The master bedroom/bathroom is a place to relax and take refuge in. One of the things that we love about this house are the views. We love to watch the sunrise from the deck or air-conditioned cabana with our coffee and we especially love to watch the extraordinary sunsets with a glass of wine. Because of the location of this home, you have amazing views no matter what time of day it is. We also love the close proximity to some of the restaurants that are on the south end of the island. The owners of Serenity are truly amazing. They make sure that everything is in order for your vacation. They really take care of their property and want you to enjoy their home. We highly recommend renting Serenity. It is our favorite home to rent in Hopetown.
