Casa Del Norte was the perfect place to use as a home base for exploring the Big Bend area of Texas. We cooked several full meals in the kitchen, and ate out on the porch often. We also got the chance to walk the trails on the property. We had an excellent time there.
What a sweet little house. It is in a perfect location to enjoy natural and the stars! We spent the day at Big Bend and this was the perfect place to come home to. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We didn’t cook but enjoyed the food in the area. Would definitely stay again.
A very nicely appointed home. Views are ok, it's overlooking a low hill in so you don't get the spectacular ranges which are nearby. Could have used some pans (only pots provided) so cooking was a little challenging. Beds very comfortable, overall great!
The property is private and secluded, which is what we wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Directions to get to the property were very easy to follow and it was a very relaxing stay. April is a fantastic host and very responsive to each and every question or need.

Property was very clean and comfortable. Management was most attentive to any concerns.
We loved our stay here. It’s a bit of a drive to get into Big Bend but as our children still can’t make a full day of hiking, this was a perfect fit for us. Gave us time to slow down in the afternoon and cook a good meal, plus the views from the house were wonderful. The house was very clean and well kept and while still feeling like you’re getting away from it all, it’s only a short drive into Alpine in case you are in need of anything.
This was such a wonderful experience for us. We loved the seclusion and no TV. We listened to nature and enjoyed most of our time wrapped in a blanket on the lookout patio. So amazing. We'll definitely be returning to this little slice of heaven.
The home was just as described, roomy and located in a remote, quiet, beautiful mountain location. The dark skies made for interesting stargazing and planet viewing (Jupiter and Venus were easy to see). We used the fireplace every night, and it was convenient to all the areas we wanted to visit
This property was a nice retreat for those who want to experience quiet south Texas landscape and dark nights for star viewing. Great for two couples as bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the home. Nice outdoor deck for early morning coffee and relaxing in the evening after exploring areas nearby.
Wish we were still sitting on the porch taking in the big sky. This property is everything and more. Nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Two outside sitting areas. Short, beautiful hikes on property. Property manager is responsive, professional, and has attended to all details. One of our best VRBO experiences. If you like getting away, and you love west TX, here’s a gem. Enjoy!!
Little Hidden Gem, Cozy and has all the amenities needed
We enjoyed our stay at this property. We travel often and stay a various places. This is one of my favorites because it’s secluded and on private property with a gate that requires a code.
The rooms were very comfortable with a king bed in each room. The mattress was very comfortable. I need the brand bc I’d like to get the same for my home. Each room had it’s own restroom and shower.
The whole house is decorated very nicely throughout. The kitchen has everything you need. We spent the night playing one of the board games and sipping hot chocolate with our son. It was a bit cold outside so we didn’t get to lay out on the little deck to stare at the stars but the view of the stars was beautiful.
Communication with the owner was always quick. She responded to all of our questions. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and will be back again.
Thank you for a great experience.
